Wonder how long Part 3's gonna last? Another decade?

Do you think Sarada is Karin's child or Sakura's? For those that think that it'd be too obvious, remember Tobi being Obito was too obvious too.

Also... Karin is an Uzumaki. Uchiha/Uzumaki crossbreed? Superbaby of DOOOOM. That wants nothing to do with being a ninja.

I posted this in the Naruto News thread:
The Sauce was traveling the world in search of enlightenment/atonement/cheesecake/whatever, joined by his faithful companions(stooges). One thing leads to another, Sarada is born. Now you obviously can't go gallivanting around the countryside with a kid, Jiraiya and Naruto's childhood is proof of that. Next best thing? Why, you have a perfectly willing s̶u̶c̶k̶e̶r̶ "friend" at your secure home village willing to raise your child with all the love and care in the world! Of course, I am most likely wrong and this is simply a brilliant ploy by Kishimoto to reel us in with a shocker/drama-filled opener for the next saga.

Also, still needs Byakugan to reach SUPER DOOM Status. At best, the baby would be 2/3 way there, with Indra genes (Uchiha) and Asura genes (Uzumaki/Senju)

Sasuke knocking up Karin and leaving Salad with Sakura would be a God tier troll job. Jesus it would be amazing.

Can we swap Naruto 701+ with Naruto Gaiden, plz?

I don't think that Sarada is Karin's daughter at all, just one massive red herring. But I haven't forgotten (or forgiven) Tobito so we'll see. And that would be one hell of a twist if it's for real.

Hilarious that Boruto took the backseat in favour of her drama.

Can't believe I ever gave Sasuke the benefit of the doubt. I figured he was home most of the time but would take frequent trips. Hope he has a damn good reason for alla dat.

And Sakura backslid into pathetic so hard her goddamn house fell down.

Completely agreed with both of these points. I seriously can't believe Sasuke hasn't been home once since shortly after Sarada was born. What the fuck, even if he doesn't love Sakura, doesn't he still want to see his daughter? Maybe shoot the shit with Naruto and Kakashi every now and then?

I'll repost my reactions from the Naruto News thread.

Wow, Chouchou is really bratty. And why does she suddenly want to lose weight? I loved her "Yeah I'm fat, deal with it!" line from the epilogue, but now she's going back on that?

I love how Inojin draws cutesy anime style animals and mocks his dad by saying his art taste is ancient. Has Inojin learned any mind-jutsu from his mom though? It seems like all these next generation kids take entirely after their dads.

So Naruto is sending clones to play with his kids while he's busy working. Funny how I suggested that after the epilogue and every one said that Naruto would never do that, it would be horrible parenting, etc.

Shikamaru can use shadow binding jutsu completely seal-free now, interesting. And Shikadai is literally a clone of his dad.

Holy shit. Sasuke abandoned Sakura when Sarada was a baby. Sakura and Sasuke have no photos of them together as adults, not even from their supposed wedding. Sarada questions whether Sakura and Sasuke are even really married, triggering a berserk response from Sakura. Kishimoto implies that Karin is Sarada's real mother. Holy fucking shit.

If this is real and not just a red herring, then I take back every bad thing I ever said about Kishimoto. Trolling the fans with a massive plot twist like that takes balls. And since I never thought that Sakura and Sasuke being together made much sense anyway I am loving every second of this drama. Please let Sarada be Karin's secret lovechild and Sakura be totally delusion about Sasuke loving her.

edit: Also that photo implies that Sasuke kept in touch with and stayed friends with Suigetsu and Karin after the manga ended. But what about Juugo? Why isn't he in the photo?

By the way: do anybody remember ANY instance of Karin showing the pupils in her eyes?
Because Salada does here: https://i.imgur.com/trfbdKB.png
Also, I just noticed Sasuke has the Sharingan active in the last panel of the chapter.

Also: given target, magazine and author, I think Sarada is Sakura's child.
The only other possible point Kishimoto might pursues is "Who raises you is the real parent"(cfr. Gon in Hunter×Hunter), which, given EVERYTHING ELSE in the manga, is quite unlikely.

I'm not sure Sasuke does even KNOW he has a daughter, though.
I can totally see him telling Sakura he'll be back for her some day and giving his own variation of "a promise of a lifetime": marriage(because we all know "Sasuke" and "moderation" are antinomy).
Which result in a single night of passion, producing Sarada.

Really I think there's nothing new with how Sasuke left his family for that long. Even in the epilogue where Naruto basically tells Boruto to stop craving attention because the village needs him should have been all the indication needed to see where this was headed: Not only did Naruto (and company) fail to address the fundamental problems in the Shinobi world, but the behave the same way their predecessors did, in all the wrong ways.

On the one hand it's interesting how Naruto eventually, and despite his constant idealism throughout the series, eventually just became part of the system he wanted to replace. On the other hand, I have little interest in such a world; I read Naruto because idealism was his thing, and nothing, and I mean nothing, was able to change his goals (seriously, he forgave the people that killed his master, his parents and made his life hell). Now Naruto is no different than all the redeemed badies throughout the series: Big ideals, but real world broke him down. Perhaps not as drastically with Naruto, but the point still stands.

Hopefully we see at least a little of Naruto's character, instead of this OC with Naruto's face.

So uh, I wasn't going to post here, and then I went and read the chapter, and MY GOD. I just laughed and laughed at that ending from sheer surprise. So, it seems that Shikamaru is an ass as a grown up, or at least doesn't see Bolt as his own person. I parsed that out that way anyway. I grant that Bolt is a little brat, but Shikamaru literally just going, nope grow up kid, on him is kinda gnarly. The fact that he doesn't realize "Naruto acted out because he wanted acknowledgement, Bolt is acting out in the same way, maybe there's a connection" and then address that is... odd for a so-called genius.

I really wish I could say I was surprised about the whole mess with Sakura/Sasuke/Sarada, but upon reflection not so much. Sasuke basically fucking off for hte entirety of his daughters life is so in character it hurts, as is Sakura defending the schlub after everything. I really REALLY wish it weren't but Mister Kishimoto made his whole screwed up mental process on it clear in interviews so w/e.

I have this horrible presentiment though, about Sasuke and Naruto. Naruto values Sasuke pretty damn highly, the fact that he allowed him to fuck off and functionally abandon Sakura and his own child seems odd to me. I have to wonder at how the Sauce's actions here have impacted Naruto's own choices and actions as a parent. I may be reading too much into things here though I admit.

And your basis for that is what, he can't play with his kids 24/7? Welcome to the world of having a job, especially a political one. Even in peacetime, hes probably constantly busy running this or that and managing affairs.

Heck, we've seen form the manga canon that the world just isn't the same anymore, it's too peaceful.

To quote Honor and Intent, a fic I recc'ed a while back:
Sasuke again glanced at Naruto, who remained silent, but was at least looking at him now. "I trust this is not merely a convenient excuse to force me into spending time with Sarada?"

"So you do know her name," Hinata murmured. "I had wondered."

Sasuke stared at her. "Something you want to say?"

"Plenty, but I'll keep it brief. This is all your fault."

"Noted. Anything else?"

Hinata glared at him. "That's it?"

"None of you seem to understand that restoring my clan and being a 'proper' father are entirely separate from each other. And only one of them was my goal. More importantly, since no one in this room was raised 'properly' by a father, I wouldn't exactly be in a rush to cast blame. In any case, she is my child, and I will raise or not raise her as I see fit."
I can completely see Sasuke deciding to do this. He wanted the Uchiha back, but more importantly, he wanted his family back.

He couldn't replace the second, but he could make sure that the first happened.

Yeah, it looked more like Shikamaru was more or less being the cynical realist Tobirama to Naruto's idealistic, Hashirama. That he doesn't even want Naruto's clone playing with his son kinda points to that for me.

I agree that I may be jumping to conclusions a 'bit' there, but my point is none of the scenes we have seen of Naruto resemble what I would think an adult Naruto to be like (of course that's only my opinion). As I said, hopefully we'll see more of Naruto and put those scenes in context.

I don't know, it might just have been 'Don't waste your dad's time even if it's a clone'. The clone was time and energy spent and Bolt was using it to hide from said clone. I can see Shikamaru not liking that. I just think that the manner he chose to stick his oar in was less than optimal.

You guys want a known sexist and lazy jerk like Shikamaru to be a good father? That's too much of a bother.

I wouldn't be surprised if Temari was in charge of the house and the kid's role model.

Hmm chapter 701+ thread then part 3 has come out? I'll go check it out and give you guys my opinion as I read it.

Kay first of all, Naruto's face on the Hokage monument looks kinda weird.

Also of course Chou Chou is sassy Ino's and Sai's spawn she's an overweight black girl therefore she must be sassy and snap her fingers a whole lot.

Whoa there's a lot of unwarranted self doubt coming from Sarada. Also Sasuke is a deadbeat dad. Called it!

Hmm, Bolt continues to be a little shit.

Naruto uses shadow clones to play with his kids? Makes sense.

Yes, Yes. We get it Sarada you've never even met- wait, a goddamn second! You've never even met your dad!? I was joking that Sasuke was a deadbeat father but this is just..! When I thought that Sasuke couldn't be a bigger prick he goes a pulls this shit!

Oh, Sakura stop bullshitting and just come and say it. "Sasuke's a prick who doesn't care about you."

Also you'd think that Sakura would've found a way to megaton punch proof her house. Like seals or something.

Damn, Shizune's aged pretty well.

And we end on Kishimoto trolling us.

Gotta say, I'm not impressed.

Also Himewari didn't appear.

Temari is obviously not Shikidai's role model, the kid is a fucking clone of his dad, both physically and mentally.

And to be fair to Shikimaru, he does seem to have improved his character somewhat. He seems quite embarrassed by Shikidai's lazy behaviour. Just look at his face when he says "Huh, I guess it's happening in my family too." He definitely seems to be thinking "What a little shit my kid is. Just like Dad used to say about me. Was I really that bad when I was young?" Hopefully Temari has knocked some of the sexism out of him too, she doesn't seem like the type who would put up with that bullshit for long.

Now I'm wondering if awakening the Sharingan would fix her poor eyesight.

Well the Sharingan can apparently do whatever the plot needs it to so why not?

Apparently Shikadai got Temari's fighting spirit... once you get him FIGHT in first place.

You try making someone as thickheaded as Sasuke do something.

Of course we don't know why Sasuke jetted after Sarada was born. For all we know, Karin came unhinged, tried to stab the infant Sarada and Sasuke's has been on the move for years to put her crazy ass down once and for all.

As for the current plot, it really sounds like the time Brick wanted to know about how he came into the world, and no one would tell him, leading him to think the worst (adopted, etc.) only for that to not be the case -- the truth was just an embarrassing thing for the family.

Okay, we knew Sasuke was a dick, but since when does Sakura have a penchant for passing out?

Unless...Sasuke went full dick-move and used his Sharingan to mind-fuck folks into thinking Sarada IS Sakura's daughter, and she passed out when her mind tried to connect some dots and pulled an Error 404.

Part of me wonders if this might be a mistranslation or something. I don't think it's a literal weight thing, since she doesn't want to train with or be seen with her dad simply because of the flavor of chip he's eating. It being 'lightly salted' might be a health thing Karui did that Chouji went along with and Chou-Chou dislikes.

And I can't help but imagine Inojin drawing anime Robots and sentai things for attacks :D

When Tsunade was training her for a dodgeball tournament to be a medic.

Sounds like rebound from World Embryo.

what if she needs glasses because.....when she was born, sasuke had her eyes removed and replaced with a still born child's eyes so she wouldn't have to face the "dangers" of the sharingan, which means he then went on to destroy the original eyes, but this may just be wishful thinking on my part,

That's insanely retarded even for Sasuke.
