Naruto Naruto Movie 6: Road to Ninja

The most interesting thing I find about this movie asides from how that god-awful atrocious design for Sakura's father ever got greenlighted is that the Naruto of the alternate universe actually looks different from main!Naruto.

Take that all you people writing time traveling stories to before the Kyuubi attack that insist on having the Konoha 12 look completely identical!

As far as I know, he was designed by Kishimoto himself, so it is his canon design

but Time Travel is Different from Alternate Universes.
Time travel before the Kyuubi attack = even a very minor change occurs

Different sperm and different egg = different person

The End.

Yeah most time-travel stories just kind of assume that pure random chance stuff is pre-determined if the circumstances they occurred in are unchanged. So stuff like which sperm fertilized which egg, where random lightning bolts strike, winning lottery numbers, etc never change unless you went back in time to before they occurred and change the factors leading up to them.

Otherwise there's no point to time travel at all, since even simply going back and not doing anything or talking to anyone would still replace every person and change every random event that will ever happen after that point in history. You'd just be creating a alternate universe.

actually, by the time of Kurama's attack, all the Konoha 12 were already conceived. So no amount of changes would affect their DNA.

But that jutsu is just an illusion. The changes occurred because the information needed to fill in the blanks were in Naruto's mind.

most time-travel depictions make it very elastic and resistant to change. An event activelly affected can't help but change in the future, but everything else will resist being unmade. For example the already mentioned, people already comproved to have been born before the change in the past won't be retroactivelly unborn unless the change activelly made it so.

as in, already observed to exist, who are not in a "schrodinger's cat" state of being alive or not in the original timeline

I think you messed up your languages there, Loki

A quick google search revealed comprove as the plural of comprova, which means proof in italian. I don't know how accurate that is, but it makes sense in Loki's statement.

oh... yeah, it's very likely, sorry...

I meant that, as much as there was an evidence that proved that something once existed in the future, time would do it's best to not change enough to erase this unless forced - as in, if someone already existed in the future, time would make it be that same sperm and egg that would be born once again unless the change made turns it actually impossible instead of highly improbable.

I've only read one time travel fic where random things happened because most people think time is predetermined unless changed.

If you're capable of actually slogging through it, KyLewin's works show pretty fucking huge diversion from the timeline.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone's capable of slogging through his two stories anymore.

Well I just watched the movie and it was interesthing but a bit underwhelming.

Interesthing trivia apparently Sakura's Father is a Genin in canon. Hehehe.

so... in the RTN universe he went From Genin to Hokage(TM)?
Given that universe is based on Naruto's mind, that would make sense...

Spoiler;

No it isn't just Naruto's wish Sakura also comes along so Naruto wishes to be with his family and Sakura wants to be a Hero's Daughter. So they pretty much change places as far as social standing goes anyway.

^to answer your question. At the start Sakura says She wished she was daughter of a hero instead of lower ranked ninja(who never promoted after becoming genin) like his father. might a translating error or something tough I don't think so.

Also Menma only looks different as long as Naruto is there. As soon as he leaves Menma returns to look like Naruto.

Wishing he looked more 'cool' like the Sauce, perhaps?

Also what zeebeenumber said, [*spoiler][*/spoiler], without the *s obviously

Sakura mentioned it before Tobi whammied them with genjutsu, and it was in the interview materials that the mangaka designed all the characters for the movie.

Anyway... did anyone feel the fight scenes were kinda... really boring?
