I recently read a goddamn amazing one that was basically "Robert Baratheon is awesome, and watch him kick fucking ass".  Starts at Ruby Ford, and actually ends.

It was really good.

Well, I've got something for you today. I checked back through the thread to see if it had already been posted, which wasn't hard since the man only started it in December of last year. Anyway, here we go.

Seal Keeper; He who Binds

Description: His sister may have been given the Kyuubi, but armed with Namikaze Minato's greatest sealing masterpiece, Uzumaki Naruto will carve his way through the shinobi world- one body at a time.

My thoughts: It's... a very interesting read. Naruto is essentially the Uzumaki Prince, a very prideful and stubborn individual. The story kicks off with him being abandoned in a somewhat believable manner. Essentially, Kushina discovers something and overreacts in order to protect her baby boy. She puts plans in place to see that he is well cared for during her and his sisters 'forced' absence, but all her plans and fail safes falls apart because Kushina just can't see the flaws in the people she trusts to do what must be done.

The entire story is rather slow, however. It's at chapter 35 and we're still pre-chuunin exams (Though that bit of history is irrelevant, I guess, since Orochimaru is radically different in this fic as well. Oh he's still a deranged little shit, but this time he's a deranged little shit who happens to be Naruto's godfather). It combines politics and how actions and consequences go hand in hand rather well. Give it a gander and let me know what you think of it.

I like it - even Orochimaru, who's twice as creepy as in canon; even the female Kyuubi, whose characterization is more realistic than any other example I've encountered. The only thing I have a bone to pick with the author for is how much of an older-woman-magnet Naruto is. Seriously, he has reached Negi levels!

It's decently written, and the fact the power levels are balanced is a pleasant surprise, considering this is the author who created Black Wing, one of the most OP characters in fanfiction. (I've heard that in the sequel of Fate's Gamble, BW is about to turn into a Root. :crazy:   :unsure: )

The first chapter was basically full-on exposition which considering the length of said chapter is not a good thing. I tried going over the following chapters to see if it got better but it didn't. Wordswordswords. Training Montage. Very little character.
