Gaara is... interesting. Especially the small gourd.
Temari is even hotter than usually

Lee has become Guy
And a new character, a chinese-dress kunoichi called Tenten. I think she'll be a relevant character.
Also, a Last!Naruto statue. On color, black&orange look much better.

Obviously, while Naruto was on his training trip with Jiraiya, the blue cloth portion of his forehead protector became unusable, and he had to go without one for a time, before getting the black cloth that he uses now.
Whatever happened during that time-period must have been so soul-scarring that he'll never ever take it off while "on the job."

Apparently, the lines on the illustrations read like this:
Naruto: "I got something I absolutely must tell ya.. wait for me."
Sasuke: "If he isn't around...You'll have to be protected by me, I guess."
Kakashi: "I have faith in my people. But for confidence I'd never let them go on any dangerous missions, you know."
You know, I just realized, the problem isn't so much Naruto's short hair, its him...
Hear me out. In real life, people with bigger/rounder faces usually look pretty unattractive with shorter hair, since that allows their features to become more noticable. However the opposite is also true for those with slim/lean facial features, as shorter hair is what allows these features to stand out and make them attractive.
Naruto with short hair would work if it wasn't so goddamn-sea urchin like even at this short length and his face lost more of that roundness/baby-fat of teenage years. Kinda like how the Temari sketch looks markedly adult-like.
