Most likely mixing his entire life.

You would expect it to actually have mixed even "before" his life, so to speak. I mean he had to have been exposed to Kyuubis chakra while still in the womb since he was born with the "kyuubi-whiskers" which thanks to those two brothers (Ginkaku and Kinkaku I think) we know are a result of major exposure to Kyuubis chakra.

One might even argue that this might have something to do with Narutos abnormal chakra levels. I mean those two "ate" Kyuubis chakra, got whiskers and even though they did not have the actual Kyuubi sealed inside of them, they were known to possess humongous chakra levels. They were also said to be descendants of the original Sage of the Six Paths, just like Naruto.

Naruto could have "eaten" Kyuubis chakra through the connections between mother and child since Kushina had Kyuubi sealed in her. For all we know, Naruto might have had access to small amounts of Kyuubis chakra like the two brothers did, even if the actual Kyuubi had never been sealed into him.

I also agree on the high Chakra levels. Chakra from how we have seen Tsunade and Sakura use it, it has some healing properties not just destructive.

From what I know the original seal, the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style was made to allow a tiny bit of Kurama's Chakra to always mix with Naruto's. So in a way, Naruto will always get a teeny tiny bit of it. To completely stop that flow would be placing another seal on top, like the Five Elemental Seal that Orochimaru used.

And those brothers, if you can't spell their names, just go on and call them the Gold and Silver Brothers. That is their alias anyways.

Not only that the Gold and Silver Brothers were stuck in Kurama's stomach for a long time so that might have an impact. Same goes for when Kurama threw the two up after they ate too much of his stomach lining.
