Heh, and another. Starting with an idea that has been needling me for a long while now: what if Negi had the Planeswalker's spark?

Essentially, what it boils down to is that while he can't become a full fledged 'Walker (at least not yet), he's already capable, on an instinctive level, of summoning and using relatively high level spells from Magic.

The first sign of this power of his is when he summons his first creature, as well as familiar/guardian/mentor. It happens during the attack on his village by demons. The Thousand Master is late, and upon seeing his sisters in danger, Negi reaches for a power he didn't know he had, and instinctively unleashes it, summoning the legendary Angel of Wrath, Akroma, on the field of battle.

The action turns the tides as decisively as if the Thousand Master had appeared, with Akroma cutting a terrifying swath of destruction among the confused demons, which eventually retreat, but not before setting the village on fire and turning everything they could reach to rubble. However, Negi's intent succeeded - his sisters were both safe, though the same could not be said of the rest of the village.

Following that, with Negi unconscious from the effort, the Thousand Master shows up and it turns out that he simply doesn't have enough power to send her back where she belongs - only Negi can, and only if he can somehow master his power. But for this to happen, he needs to survive, and Nagi asks her to become the boy's protector, as the power he's displayed that day would surely make him a giant target.

Fast forward to his arrival at Mahora. Negi isn't alone - he's accompanied by a beautiful, ethereal woman with alabaster skin and blue hair. Few pick up the aura of repressed magic coming from her, and fewer still were forewarned of their coming.

Thus, Mahora Academy changes forever, thanks to the presence of Negi Springfield, apprentice Magister Magi and future Reality Shaper, and his faithful guardian Akroma, the Angelic Illusion.

More details have yet to be worked out, but one thing is for sure - with Akroma at his side, this is a Negi tyhat, while still rather naive, is a lot less hesitant in battle, as he'd take after the Angel's motto: 'No rest. No mercy. No matter what.'

Hey, she IS called 'Angel of Wrath' for a reason, y'know? ;)

Thoughts?

One more idea, this one being a simple (?) role swap:

What if Negi was the ninja, and kaede theb Magister Magi in training?

Just imagine Ayaka's reaction to Negi using Kage Bunshin.

Ayaka> Waaaaa  So many Negi-sensei! :p~
Asuna> ...

I think that idea does have certain merit. Execution of said idea is going to be tricky, however.

Unless Negi somehow has his skills swapped with Kaede....

Heh. Yeah. Something like a skill-swapping potion. Alternatively, Negi could be a Naruto-type, in that he has so much chakra/ki/whatever, he can pull off Kage Bunshin without effort.

Negi with Kage bunshins reminds me of some Negima doujins I read.. :p

The best comment I can make is that it'll have Negi not using those crazy paper things during the Kyoto trip with the Kage Bunshins. (but similar effects with the fake Negi's blowing up)

Then I come to think of why would Negi be in Japan (let alone Mahora) at all in the first place other than more training with a better ninja or being assigned to protect that area while acting as a (possibly henged to be older) teacher as a cover against being found by the wrong people.

That and I have to wonder why Kaede would be a Nagi in training and other stuff that would probably blow up what little brain matter that I have left in my head.

Hmm, been a while since i played magic, but that is one evil card.

Negi could come from a village that hires it's ninjas out.

Negi could be a Ninja with an unusual talent for the english Language. Mahora academy which is currently suffering from failing test grades looks for talented teachers and requests Negi not for his ninja skills, but his language skills. Kaede could be drawn to Mahora due to it's huge magical energies surrounding it, or she could be a mage whose learning position is to survey the talents of Mahora or some similar job.

If Kaede is seraching for Nagi you could have her learn he had a connection to one of the teachers.

If Negi is searching for Nagi it could be that the reason he goes there is because either his spies or the headmaster slips him atid bit that his father has some connection to the school. Or it could be that they have Takamichi and old friend of Negi's father be the one to offer him the job.

Here's a thought:

What if, upon defeating Evangeline, the Thousand Master broke the spell that bound Chachamaru-Zero to her, and later on, after the mess with the demons he decided, in a spectacular display of poor judgement, that Negi needed a protector... and reactivated Chachazero for that purpose, binding her to Negi's magical power and making her his partner like Chachamaru Karakuri is to Evangeline?

Basically, Negi comes to Mahora with Chachazero, which could be hilarious given how Eva is there, but Chachazero showed she doesn't really care who she serves, so long as she gets to do violent stuff and be rude. And I don't see Negi keeping her in line...

I pity the poor...no wait, we get a female killer doll that likes to hold what I can recall are butcher knives and is totally willing to use them against any that attack Negi...Screw them! Do it!

Heh, here's a possible scene from such a fic:

----

As the eraser fell towards Negi's head, a creepy light appeared in Chachazero's eyes. Moving with inhuman speed, the puppet reached under her clothing and quickly drew a large butcher knife, slashing at the falling object and cleaving it neatly in half before it could reach her master's head.

As the two split halves of the eraser fell, Chachazero then smoothly flung the butcher knife to the ground, cutting a wire set up to make Negi trip and harmlessly setting off the traps connected to it.

Dead silence filled the class after the display, as the girls of 3-A stared at the puppet resting on the young boy's head. Then Negi chuckled nervously and, turning slightly, muttered: "Damnit, Chachazero, was that really necessary?"

The evil doll merely chuckled. "Why, of course not," she replied. "I just wanted to scare the living Hell out of these prissy Daddy's girls."

"...I have a headache coming on..." Negi groaned as his shoulders slumped in defeat. No matter how much he tried, he could never win a discussion with Chachazero.

Nice.

Come to think of it, Didn't one of the 'BIG BOSS' h-doujins had Chachazero temporary change herself into a more human form? (even if it was only for sex)

...Okay, barring any potential thoughts of Negi and Chachazero getting it on for now (hey, don't laugh at me thinking like that as you guys wanted Negi to have sex with a robot so why not a magical doll?) I think that if Negi knew that she could, I think that Negi will beg and plead with her to be in that form to avoid exposing himself as a magi in training while working as a teacher. (course we know how that works out)

Taking a page from Fate/Stay Night for possible idea of having a lemon fic: Negi doesn't have a clue on how to recharge Chachazero, which in turn, causes her to teach him by transforming into a fully functioning girl and screws him over and over.

Course, I can see with the scene you made GH that he could possibly try to explain or something that he's also a ven...ven...good at working with puppets.

Yeah, it was in 'Evangelin Geki Ikka'.

He can simply pretend he's a puppetmaster and she's a Kugutsu. Granted, some of the girls (namely Kaede, Chachamaru, Satomi, Chao and probably Yue, in addition to Evangeline) will figure it's not exactly true, but seeing how the only unusual thing about him seems to be that he has a moving doll, they won't suspect he's a Magi. Possibly a traveling performer, or a ninja even, or they may think Chachazero is like Chachamaru, but this'll actually divert attention from him being a Magi.

Chachazero doesn't need recharging, though - she's directly hotlinked to her Master's magical reserves, and unless those reserves are sealed, she'll always have all the magic she needs.

Even with Eva sealed inside Mahora, Chachazero could talk and think, so... the connection is so deep it isn't funny.

Of course, she might decide to mess with him on general principle. Chachazero loves to screw with people, although she's usually more violent about it.

Don't forget Mana, and possibly Setsuna. They're both involved in the world of magic pretty deeply, and Mana's eyes can detect magical entities (like Sayo). If Chachamaru is powered by magic (which she is), she'll know.

Speaking of Chachamaru, wasn't she spring based (with keycrank and everything) till vol 3? They just sort of stoped drawing her with the crank after that.

She's powered by a mix of magic and technology. I think the crank is used to effect her combat abilities somehow, likely a limiter (notice that she removes the crank before her fight with Negi and Asuna) that the Headmaster has her wear to limit her powers so long as she's allied with Evangeline, possibly receiving permission to do away with the device after Negi beat Eva. I have no evidence to support this theory, though, and it's all wild speculation that I pulled out of my ass just now.

I think they just got tired of drawing it, personaly.

I got an idea while re-reading some info on fuyuki.

The idea came to me while reading this piece of text:
Each school/style engraves their system of thaumaturgical theory into the world and uses those rules and systems to operate their spells. A system of little belief/small scale is weak. Outside of one's own country, it's common for it to not even activate properly. The thaumaturgical theory that has the broadest system are the teachings of the Church; their holy words.

It's probably likely that that this only applies to spells that are being processed outside of the body rather than inside the body to affect the outer world - greater thaumaturgy and the like.
This kinda opens up the Type-moon world to be crossed over with just about anything. (as far as magic goes at least)

So I thought, "Well if it's plausible for Negi to have the Planeswalker's spark, why not be able to summon Eirei?"

Of course, i'm unable to really picture who he would summon. Since, Eirei summoned *tend to be similar to their Master.(*not always)

This also makes other contracts moot if Negi has an Eirei as a partner. Which is a negative from my point-of-view.

Just wanted to toss this out. I'm just repeating the same old idea with nothing more than a new side dish. I fear i'm becoming like "that guy".~shudders~

On the previous idea of Chachazero, that would be quite interesting. More so when the "perving ermine" shows himself.

Unfortunately, that idea is impossible outside of the Fuyuki Grail Wars, unless you're just talking about a super powerful creature that Negi summons.

Another bit from Fuyuki:

Normally, Heroic Spirits are summoned as pure power. Receiving a form and a mind similar to what they were back when they were alive is limited only to the Fuyuki Grail War. Generally when Heroic SPirits are summoned, they're used in Kuchiyose or oracles (as in power is channeled through a medium who then makes prophetic statements or what not).
This only lightly treads on it (I couldn't immediately find the proper text), but another part of Fuyuki's info bluntly states that Eirei cannot be summoned in their original form (i.e., with their original personality and/or body) outside Fuyuki's Grail Wars. So, basically, while I might be able to see Negi being able to summon an Eirei, it would pretty much be useless in terms of usability in fanfiction, since it would just be a massive powerhouse familiar instead of an actual person.

And also, Negima's magic system (while compatible in terms of that it might 'exist'), also treads deeply on certain levels with things that shouldn't be possible (for example, Negi's fighter enhancement, which seems to be rather common. It basically puts people's 'stats' as high as Eirei, and that just puts things completely out of whack).

Here's a completely insane idea:

Negi being taught by a Bastard!! mage. Dark Schneider would be amusing, but he's just a wee bit TOO powerful. Someone with relatively weaker spells, like Arshes Nei or even Abigail, would be more 'balanced', insofar as how a Bastard!! mage CAN be balanced.

This idea could also apply to Harry Potter. Even just learning some of the minor Bastard!! spells would give Harry the power he needs to not be toasted by Voldy. As Harry is now, he'd get killed, period.
