Right.

I had no idea where to post this, but I suppose that here will have to do.

How many of you guys have read that wondrous series These Black Eyes and its as yet unfinished sequel, Manifest Destiny?

If you haven't, then stop reading this and get the hell over to FFnet and read them this instant!

For those of you who don't know these titles, they are Teen Titans fics written by one of the household names of fanfiction: Post.

He said that he'd finally given up on writing the insanely huge and equally popular TBE/MD series, purely because it was so large that it was spiraling out of control. He had recently started something called ETMD, which we still don't know what the hell it is, but it definitely has no ties to his popular series.

But just a day or two ago, Post released a new fic called Denouement, and it is painfully clear that he has decided to go back to writing about Noir, the hero of the fics. I'm trying to spread the word, but it's been so long since he's written anything, Post is having a hard time garnering his old fanbase I'd hate to see him drop this project purely because of a lack of interest in his work.

So please, for the love of God, visit Denouement and leave something, anything to encourage him to write!

And while you're at it, try to see if you can't get him to join TFF. He would make an excellent addition to the Hivemind, not to mention swell our ranks with all of the followers he would bring.

On his Teen Titans stories... Robin/Raven? Pfft. Fail.
What the hell are you talking about?

Post is not a Robin/Raven shipper in his TBE/MD fics.

If you'd actually read the fics, you'd know otherwise.

Ah, yeah, I was thinking of someone else.

Still, I don't like OC's and that what his series is based around. It might be a well written, un-Sue OC(I wouldn't know, I haven't read the stories beyond the first couple chapters of TBE), but basing the entire story around it is fail in my opinion.

I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in Teen Titans.

...................and I'm supposed to care, why? If you don't like them, why waste time telling us? Just don't even bother.

Well, I respect your opinion, even though I say: KILL IT WITH FIRE!! Why exactly don't you care for it? Even if you don't like the technique, you have to respect the fact that he managed to pull off that many chapters, gain that many fans, and actually weave a damn good plot that revolved around the OC. For god's sakes, people actually complained when he neglected the OC in the second fic. Is that not a testament to his skill as a writer?

Why the hell do you take it as a personal affront if people tell you they don't care about that fic? Are you being paid by that guy to act as his personal fanboy?

I just don't care for OCs being the central point of the story.

I don't like OCs in general either, but it is a much lesser dislike. Sometimes, OC's are unavoidable, but please god, don't make them the main character. Use the actual main character, or in the event of a series like Teen Titans, use one of the main characters.

Why should I care about an OC when I read fanfiction for the canon characters being redone/expanded on/thrown into non-canon circumstances?

Edit: foesjoe, he was referring to your completely pointless post of telling us you don't like Teen Titans. Why did you feel the need to point that out? I don't go into, say, the Ranma section and make posts saying I have no interest at all in Ranma stories.

I am not much of a Teen Titans fan, so I will state outright I cannot comment on the quality of his story, it may be very good.

I also am not going to say anything bad about you announcing it as you did, that is of little interest to me. I also would be no better than those who have commented on my own updating style in the past were I to do so.

One small item I will point out though:

For those of you who don't know these titles, they are Teen Titans fics written by one of the household names of fanfiction: Post.
Since everyone reads different fandoms, there really is practically no such thing as a 'household name of fanfiction'. I could name a dozen very well known fan fiction authors, but if you do not read stories for the series they write for, it would do you little good.

To each their own, I suppose. I can appreciate that point of view, but I found it refreshing to see an OC that wasn't made of Pure Fail. The interesting thing about Post was that he subtly manipulated both comic and cartoon canon to make things interesting, especially when concerning the OC.

-shrug-

Ah well. Can't win them all over.

I realize that not everyone would know his name, but those of us who have no life and frequent twenty different fandoms at a time know the names of the higher-ups, the 'household names', if you will.

Take Naruto for instance. If I were to mention say, S'Tarkan, I can guarantee you that at least half of TFF would instantly know that he's the author of Team 8 and Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Futures Past.

I admit that I go a bit overboard when it comes to Post's fics. He was the author that actually inspired me to write my first fic, a Teen Titans one of all things. So be warned that I am indeed a tad biased when speaking about him.

At last count, I had non-lemon based fan fiction for some 43 series, not counting crossover only ones.

It was not an insult to you or them... It was not saying they are bad, just not everone knows them even if they are widely read. Tastes differ, it is that simple.

I'm the other half, as I don't read Naruto or Harry Potter. On the other hand, I have *heard* of Team 8, but can't recall S'Tarkin being in it. Actually, I thought Team 8 was one author.

Zeph I could have used this in the Comic Section. Opened up a thread there for fanfiction requests, no one bit. Thanks for the info.

PCHeintz, S'Tarkan also uses the name "Viridian" on his section at FanficAuthors.net. You may have come upon its RSS Feed at some point.

Wait--what about the rest of Manifest Destiny?! Noir never had that Talk with Kara! AGH!

Though I'm incredibly happy that Post is continuing to write the series.

I haven't been there in a good long while. I usually frequent this forum above all other forums in my favourites list.

Err....sorry about that. I'd totally forgotten that we had a comics section.

If anything, I think that this should have gone into the Cartoons section, considering that Post began with the TT animation (please god, bring it back!) in TBE.

And hey, do I know you over at SiaW? Your name looks a little familiar.

...no, what is SiaW? I'm one of the younger BakaNekos. My designation is BakaNeko: 14 of Twenty Two. TFF is just about the only thing with heavy participation on my part.

SiaW = Space is a Waste, the forum that is, or rather, was dedicated to Post's work. It's little more than a ghost town now, but I hope that now he's continuing Noir's journey, we'll have a few new members.

Ah the ever powerful allure of the all important post count, tremble before the might of it and stare in awe at the depths of stupidity that it drives people too.

Anyway, I love Post, I discovered him one day a couple of summers ago and didn't sleep for another 2-3 days afterwards, that he's actually writing again has assured I will prolly not sleep tonight, thanks :p , as for everyone else, all I have to say is don't knock it before you've tried it, 'cause that's like saying you don't like Random's works due to the summaries or some other such nonsense. (Though Random will always be beyond reproach in my books anyway)
