It's probably best to think of it as "the same universe, just a different aspect of it."

Besides, I don't think anchors get chewed out for visiting their subspace pockets, and there's no way that's technically the same world; so long as they're CONNECTED to their worlds, I doubt they really need to be IN them.
I always viewed the various types of subspace pockets and hammer/mallet spaces as just that *sub*space, subspace and hyperspace still in the same dimension or universe. If it were not, an anchor merely going into warp drive or hyperspace would destroy that dimensional plane...

Cephiro is definitely portrayed as a different universe entirely.

Where it gets tricky is a place like El Hazard... it is never definitively stated for sure whether El Hazard is another dimension entirely, or another universe... since the eye of god can traverse time and space, and we have that last season with it definitely taking them across universes... I'm inclined to believe another universe.

I can see the Earth/Cephiro issue fixable as author tract: Rayearth!Earth and Rayearth!Cephiro are separated by less than, say, 6-D. So for all of Yggdrassil's intents and purposes, booth are the same "world", only one anchor is needed for both and s/he can be in either one.

When Anchors currently staying in their home universes and go to Future's Past, it doesn't happens anything beacause the many looping universes are conected to that dimesion.

I think that there aren't problems when an anchor travel from one universe to another that are necesaries parts of a specific loop, like in Nanoha where is required traveling between Earth and Mid-childa. It would be the same with Rayearth and El Hazard.

Nanoha, Fate and Hayate replacing Hikari, fuu and Umi could be a case of fused loop, like i think is happening in his one with Ranma replacing only Hikaru.

Starting off with the fact that world hopping within a loop is already established. Read: Nanoha

Original Manga Magic Knight Rayearth canon has a big problem for the loops, and it's name is Mokona, THE GOD (this one is probably sitting even with Kami and Hild, considering in world establishment of having created Cephiro, calling it a failure, the making earth and calling it a success). The pillar system always seemed like a "little g" god setup, where the g stands for COG, not god.

TV Anime Magic Knight Rayearth canon was a much darker main AND subplot in both seasons

OVA Rayearth was awesome to watch but a trainwreck in plotting, so should be disregarded except as a possible punishment loop for the canon rayearth team loopers.

This does give Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu the possibility of all three being loopers from the three different canon timelines, and they keep getting shuffled between the three possibilities every damn loop. Though I would say only Hikaru is likely to be the actual anchor here if we restrict it to one.

Disregarding that, the "sent to another world" while in a loop, as a "fated" event that is an established PART of that world, would clearly not be an issue either. (Of course that would allow for Escaflowne, and The Legend of Crystania, amonst a CRAP-ton of random main character A is yoinked to world B to be a hero/servant/familiar/laughingstock/whatever stories)

The big issue on entering ANY of the CLAMP designation worlds is canonically every single damn one of them is connected. And we knew that BEFORE Yuuko, Watanuki, and the Tsubasa-tachi were introduced, proving an in world parallel world migraine.

Never mind. Was working on a snip from the rayearth loop. but It need some reworking.

Swapping Hikaru and Ranma-chan could have other implications.

If Kuno assumes that Hikaru is his pig-tailed girl, he could discover a barrier to his courtship that he can actually understand - Her three brothers have long decreed that only someone who can best all of them in a formal kendo match will be allowed to date their little sister (Of course, she's never told them about her two suitors in Cephiro, probably because she's too romantically oblivious to realize they're courting her, even though one of them has outright proposed marriage).

This was a bit of an odd loop, but he knew it would be a good one. Every hint from his downloaded memories showed it would be. And he also knew that this was a situation that was not one where his rear was on the line.

"This must be your dumbest idea yet." Ranma stated walking down the street in female form.

"Quiet boy." Came from Genma.

"I mean really even Jusenkyo was smarter then this."

"I know what I am doing. Just come along, this is about honor."

Ranma rolled 'her' eyes, "Right..."

They shortly arrived at the Tendo Dojo and were let inside.

Soun welcomed them in along with Kasumi, "Welcome old friend, its good to see you again."

"Ahh you are right, its been too long."

Ranma snorted, it had been a year but they had kept in touch. Ranma had accepted the hot water from Kasumi and reverted to his normal form. "Thanks Kasumi."

"No problem Ranma-chan"

Ranma nodded this was not the first time he was here after getting his curse. His mother (in this loop) was rather unhappy with her brother-in-law over that. Although Genma had brought him here a few times. This was the first time he explained why.

Soun the Tendo family and Ranma and Genma were seated at the table when Soun started explaining their visit, "As you know Anything Goes Martials needs to be continued into the next generation. A long time ago Genma and I had decided to have our children marry and carry on the legacy."

Ranma knew that he and Genma were followed here. And soon Genma would learn the error of his ways.

Soun continued, "As Genma was unable to have children," for reasons such as this, "we decided to have our students marry."

That did it.

"GENMA!!!!"

"Oh, hi mom, sis,"

"Stand by. Ready"

Needs a City Hunter loop, because Ryo.

Though it would be hilarious if he ends up being less and less interested thanks to his many loops robbing the fun from the unknown, much to a non-looping Kaori's/Saeko's/Reika's/insert person here's shock.

Genma was... concerned. He was only recently exposed to looping outside his own world and as such had no idea what to truly expect. After looking at the photo that he held in his hand when he awoke he had realized a few things. First was the woman reminded him of Nodoka when they met, too much like Nodoka actually, way too much. Why Nodoka's behaviour went from what it was to now after Ranma came alone honestly confused him.

Next he realized his hand was younger then it should have been. A quick check in a window proved that yes he was young, he had to guess early teens. Glancing at the photo he flipped it over and found writing on the other side, and after reading it he groaned.

“Wish the boy was here...” Genma devolved into grunting about the unfairness of the world and how he landed in strange situations because of his son.” He heard a loud commotion and looked in the direction it was comming from. He saw, a giant of white, its appearance alone terrified him, it was something he would never admit to before or after, it was his greatest fear.

Suddenly a car screeched to a halt in front of him and someone who was clearly a twenty something Nodoka grabbed him telling him to get in. The following trip was the single most terrifying thing he ever encountered. His master included. Actually now that he thought about it the drive was still number one, the monster was two and the Master number three...

He was still in shock as he was led through the complex eventually Nodoka and he were found by someone he had not seen in a long time. His old friend's dearly departed wife, who seemed the same age as Nodoka. While neither used the names for the people they looked like it still put him off guard.

He was still trying to keep his bearings as they transverse dark corridors. Eventually a large light came on, it was a giant metal head. “What the Hell!”

“Genma meet Evangelion Unit 01, we brought you here to pilot it.”

Alright Genma was in a panic not that he showed it. Nobody told him how to drive a robot. The one he was replacing must have had training, experience, and heavy bribes to deal with this. “You want me to 'PILOT' it?”

“Correct Third Child.” Genma looked up and saw Soun and the Master, the Master in a position that clearly indicated that Soun was running the show. “You will use this weapon to destroy that which endangers this city.”

Given his options he opted to pass out. Shame that this was planned for and he was tossed in anyway. Meanwhile Seele 01 watched laughing.

---

I really wanted to take this farther but any more and it stopped being funny and turns emo. too bad I was planning on eluding to Genma stuck with Akane and Ukyo in appearance but with Rei and Asaka personalities... meh.

"'Where did that panda* come from... where is the EVA ?"

"Sir, last reported coordinates of the EVA match with position of the panda... where did that sign come from?"

"How did the Panda write on it ? When ?"

Jusenkyo: When you absolutely have to make that curse stick.

*Between the curse and being freaking huge I figure the EVA gets wet in seconds.

‘So far,’ mused Ranma, ‘It’s been a fairly quiet night here.’ He was sitting in his usual corner booth in the back of ‘Future’s Past’ nursing along a particular favorite drink of his; a combination of Romulan Ale and Juraian Shinju sake. The kick from this drink was helping him get over the shock over the ending of his last loop through Nerima. To think that Kasumi, of all people, could lose it so badly!

The first indication he and the two younger Tendo sisters had was the discovery of Soun Tendo dead in the living room with his head stuck in a bucket that appeared to be filled with his tears. As the two shocked Tendo sisters tried to unsuccessfully resuscitate their father, Ranma ran through the house to check on the rest of the residents. His next gruesome discovery was that of his now-deceased mother. She was sitting at the dining table without a mark on her, lifelessly staring a platter piled high with various cuts of well cooked meat.

Fearing for the safety of Kasumi, he continued searching the house and grounds. Finally, on the sunny side of the dojo, he discovered Kasumi using the Saotome Honor blade to scrape down a panda hide tacked up on the wall of the dojo. Hearing movement behind her, Kasumi swiftly turned and pointed the sword at the shell-shocked Ranma. Her growls of hatred became purrs of happiness as she recognized her visitor.

“Oh, Ranma,” she happily replied. “I’m so glad you’re home! I have a wonderful meal for you to eat, full of protein and guaranteed to give you lots of stamina for us to use tonight!” She then began to growl again and stated, “But before that, I need to speak to that slut harlot of a sister you have! I’ve decided that Ranko must die to prevent her from further corrupting you! Would you be so kind as to use some cold water so that I may kill her?”

Taking another sip of his drink Ranma shook his head and grimaced. At that point he had decided to end the loop and take a time-out at ‘Future’s Past’ and recover from the ordeal. Upon entering the bar he had been accosted by both Urd and Hild and the three had sat down in the booth. At the moment, both silver-haired deities were seated across the table from him performing Jan-Ken-Pow to see who would be up on the Wild Stallion first tonight.

Turning his attention to the rest of the bar, Ranma noticed that none of the other ‘regular’ loopers were there tonight. There were a few gods, goddesses, and demons in attendance, but otherwise the bar was empty. That was when he noticed the man sitting at the corner booth opposite of his. The man had hair the color of deep-blue sea ice and was dressed in a dark gray tunic and trousers combination. He was presently typing on a holographic terminal while drinking from a tankard of what Ranma assumed was ale. The man stopped for a moment and then looked at Ranma. He smiled and raised his tankard in greeting. Ranma grinned back and raised his drink in response.

Speaking to Urd and Hild Ranma said, “Ladies, if you will excuse me for a moment, I believe we have a new Looper in our midst. Pardon me, while I go find out.” Pausing for a moment, Ranma continued, “And Urd, Hild is ahead seventeen to fifteen, not even-up as you say.” Leaving the outraged goddess, Ranma got up and walked over to greet the new face in the crowd.

“Good evening,” said Ranma as he approached the table. “I’m Ranma Saotome and I’d like to welcome you to ‘Future’s Past’. Is this your first time here? May I join you for a few minutes?”

The man stood and bowed and replied. “Certainly, Prime Ranma. I am called Nid. Please be seated and we shall converse.”

As Ranma sat down he commented, “Prime Ranma? That’s a new one on me. Have you recently started looping? And why ‘Prime’?”

“My wife and I have been involved with the Loops from the very beginning. We have been here at ‘Future’s Past’ before but have remained in the background of the crowd, so to speak. I am presently awaiting her arrival and was updating some information while waiting. As for the appellation of ‘Prime’, you are the Prime Ranma; the first and eldest of the Ranma’s that Loop the Nerima loop.”

“The first?” exclaimed Ranma. “Just how many Ranma’s are there?”

Nid called up his terminal and began typing and reading. “According to the records we have been keeping, Ranma Saotome has been through 44 million, 375 thousand, and 173 Nerima Loops. 13 of these Loops are still in progress and being handed by 6 male Ranma’s, 3 female Ranma’s, 3 Nekofied Ranma’s and 1 set of twins, boy and girl. As Prime Ranma, you will receive the experiences of the Ranma’s as their Loops complete.” Nid looked up from his terminal and said, “This does not include any of the Crossovers, or Hogwarts or Eiken Loops nor does it include any Loops which may occur once you depart ‘Future’s Past’.”

As Ranma sat there in shock from this revelation, Nid closed his terminal and then stood up and bowed to the approaching Daimakaichō and her daughter. “My Lady Soul Tamer, Mistress Chaos Spinner, a pleasure to meet with you. Please be seated and we shall converse.”

Hild nodded to the man and allowed him to seat her at the table. Urd, however, took a moment to look at him before sitting down next to the shell-shocked Ranma. “Chaos Spinner?” asked Urd. ‘That’s a new one on me. And why do you call ‘Her’,” indicating Hild, “Soul Tamer? And what’s wrong with Ranma?”

“In an order other than that of which you asked,” stated Nid, “I just informed Prime Ranma of the present total number of ‘Nerima Loops’, both past and present. As Goddess Second Class, First Category of Time Past, your primary duty is to capture and spin the Chaos of Everything into the Threads of Space and Time, which you then pass on to your sister Life Weaver, Goddess First Class, Second Category of Time Present Belldandy. She then weaves the threads into the Tapestry of Life. As for My Lady, the Daimakaichō Hild, controller of Hell and its Environs, her primary task is to take the souls of the Evil and unrepentant who perish and help adjust said souls to allow them to move on to the Light or dispose of the souls which cannot be adjusted.”

“And my other sister?” enquired Urd as she handed a drink to the recovering Ranma. Ranma looked at the foaming, smoking liquid in the glass and then glanced at Urd with the Force to see if she were a certain dark-haired Tomboy in disguise. Seeing it was the true Goddess of the Past, he carefully set the slowly dissolving glass on another table and summoned his original drink to him.

At the same time, the front door to ‘Future’s Past’ opened and admitted two women into the bar. One was a lady well known to Ranma, the adult goddess Skuld. The other was a quite striking tanned lady in a brown and gray pin-striped business suit with a gorgeous emerald and chartreuse green crown of hair. Both were talking animatedly and gesturing towards an open terminal hovering in front of Skuld.

Both Ranma and Nid stood and turned towards the new arrivals. “Skuld! Over here!” Ranma called out while waving. Nid just waited for the other woman to look up, and then bowed.

Skuld closed her terminal and then strutted over and laid a lip-lock on her boytoy. After checking the status of Ranma’s tonsils and vocal cords, she broke the kiss and leaned into his arms. “Hiya, Stud,” she purred. “Later tonight, OK?” She then turned to the rather upset deities sitting at the table and smirked. “Hey, ya old Hag. I see you brought your senile old mother along as back-up. Hoping to get a chance tonight to ride the Pony Express?”

Ranma, trying to prevent the imminent supernova explosion and having to rebuild the bar again, quickly seated Skuld at the table and presented her with a Double Death-By-Chocolate Extreme Super sundae and a small spoon. “Care to introduce your friend to us, Skuld?”

Skuld took a moment to wipe the sauce from the half-devoured sundae off of her lips before replying. “Oh, Yes! This is Yyg. She’s been helping me work on reversing the faulty codes which are controlling the Loops. Some of them are more tangled than when Belldandy drops a stitch. Yyg, this is the Old Hag, my sister Urd and her demon mother Hild. This thoroughbred of a man next to me is Ranma.” She then looked at Nid. And you are…?”

“My Lady World Trimmer, Goddess Second Class, Third Category of Time Future Skuld, may I present to you my husband Nid,” replied Yyg. She then turned to the others at the table and bowed. “Lady Chaos, Mistress Tamer, Prime… It is a pleasure to meet you.” As Nid seated Yyg she leaned over and presented a folded piece of paper to Hild. “I was asked to give you this when I saw you. I was told it was important.”

Hild took the paper and opened it to read. Her eyes got big and her cheeks took on a rosy glow. She rapidly stood up and then bent over and kissed Urd on the forehead. “Gotta go!” she cried and then bent over and kissed Ranma. “See you later,” she cooed and then disappeared in a “Bamf” of fire and brimstone.

Ranma bent over and picked up the dropped note. “Cabin. Now.” He read aloud. The note then promptly dissolved in a burst of pure white light. “Well, that was sudden!” He looked at Yyg. “Who sent the note?”

“I am sorry, Prime Ranma, but I cannot divulge the origin of the note,” replied Yyg. “However, I do believe Mistress Tamer will be well ‘entertained’ this evening.” She looked at Ranma with an Ayanami-style smile. “Perhaps it will be even better than she hoped for with you.” She then turned to Nid. “I do hate to be abrupt, my love, but we are expected elsewhere.”

Nid stood and extended his hand to Yyg who gracefully took it and stood up as well. “Prime, Mistresses, it has been a pleasure to speak with you. Perhaps we shall do this again sometime.”

“Yes My Ladies, Prime.” Stated Yyg. She looked at Skuld, “See you tomorrow?”

Skuld waved her spoon over the now empty sundae bowl. “Yep! Tomorrow; down in the Midgard interface! See ya!”

Ranma watched as the couple left through the front door of the bar. “Interesting couple. First time I’ve met them, but I swear that I know them from somewhere.” He looked at the two goddesses. “Any Ideas?”

Skuld just shook her head. “Nope! All I can say is that Yyg is around whenever I’m digging inside of the oldest parts of the World Tree. Never met her husband before. Nice man.” She leered at Ranma. “Not as good as you though, Stud!”

Urd shook her head at Skuld’s antics. “Interesting names they had for us though. ‘Chaos Spinner’; ‘Life Weaver’.” She glanced at Skuld. “And World Trimmer for you.” Quite descriptive, actually.”

“Don’t forget ‘Soul Tamer’ for your Mom.” Inserted Ranma. “But did you notice? Nid called you ‘Mistress’ and Hild ‘My Lady’. Yyg called you, Skuld and Hild just the opposite. ‘Nid’. ‘Yyg.’ What is it that is so familiar about those names?”

Walking arm in arm through the forest and out into the gray mist of dimensions outside of ‘Future’s Past’ the human representation of Nifelhiem’s Nidhogg smiled at his Heavenly counterpart Yygdrasil. “Do you think they’ll figure it out?”

“Eventually,” replied Yygdrasil. “But not tonight. Ranma and the others will be too busy shortly to continue thinking about it.” She smiled. “And that is how it should be.”

Not bad, and very nice work.
Thanks. I won't tell you how long I've been working on it! :D
Oh, and I finally figured out what killed Nodoka. An allergic reaction to the Bayankala Mountain oysters Kasumi fed her.

Ranma was... concerned... well to put it mildly he we always concerned when his loops started without him getting a stop sign up the back side of his head. No he had more that he felt to be worried about this loop. Something that promised that it would far more dangerous then anything else he had ever encountered.

Right now he also had access to nothing, none of his powers at all. they were still there and he knew that in theory if the loop progressed enough he could reconnect. But given where he was starting it would take a while.

He took a moment to glance around as his 'father' went on talking about the arranged marrage.

It was when the door opened later to admit one Sakura and her father the panda that Ranma-"chan" knew trouble was brewing. He was lucky he could delay the issue a little though.

---

"These are my daughters: Rei (Shinji) age 19, Ranko (Ranma obviously) age 17 and Naruko (Naruto) age 16. Pick one..."

Surprisingly Shinji acted first, "Ohhh he (really that may have been the worst of this) wants Naruko."

Ranma replied quickly, "Yes he definately does." The perverted grin on 'Sakura' while she mostly was looking at Naruko proved the point.

"Then its settled."

Naruko looked ill and after glancing at her 'sisters' started to look betrayed.

---

Naruto had the last laugh though once the fiances (including the sailor senshi) showed up. Ranma and Shinji had more then one girl to deal with, though they admited Sakura should count as three via crazy.

Just so I don't have to go back and read _ALL_ of the previous posts, does anybody know if Ranma has an Intelligent Device and what its Name is? (And I don't mean Lilith or any of the Angels)

Does the library computer count? When he upgraded the library security system the 'computer' was installed. He *said* it was not, but it sort of is.

Alternatively, we know he has more than one Zanpakuto. Nabiki as well...

Even if he does not use them, he has access to items like it though. For example, in a Nanya loop he gave a giant glowing mallet to Akane, with the safety still on.

Truthfully, he does not need them, considering w/o weapons he can pretty much manhandle nearly anything to come his way.

His zanpakuto depends on who is writing it.

Nabiki's was my fault, as I did an improper translation for what I wanted her shikai to be named.

As for the Nanaoha Loops with Ranma, you may have to backtrack. I can't remember the author for those. But he never had a device, that I can remember.

The zanpakuto used by Nabiki is Yukihime. That was in loop snippet 2009-10-05 Loop by Innortal.

The two main separate ongoing MGLN snippet stories in this thread were done by two authors.

ringlhach's took place on MidChilda with Ranma replacing Yuuno

Nanya's took place mostly in Nerima, though started on MidChilda, with Ranma replacing the Doctor.

Does anyone know if ringlhach just completely dropped the storyline for that loop or did he take it to another forum?

Actually did anyone archive the links to the nBSG Ranma loop
I have a total of 720 snippets from this thread, plus 1 snippet that was retracted.

The BSG snippet story was by Amaretto. He had 26 snippets total contributed in the thread but not all were on the BSG continuing story. Innortal made a 3 line 1 snippet addition to the story.

Counting Innortals snippet I think it was some 13+ snippets long

Started on 2009-12-04, ended I think on 2010-03-16. The Innortal snippet was posted on 2010-03-15.
