But is he nuke-proof?! Thus ushering in a new nuclear winter.
Considering Pokemon battles only take place when trainers make eye contact, there is no chance that a "Nuclear Pokemon" would work out in her favor.
That said, there are tons of pokemon that would be immune from anything safe to use within the range of pokemon trainers making eye contact for a battle. Including grenades. I seriously doubt a hand grenade would have much of an effect on Steelix and honestly most pokemon can withstand Self Destruct which is probably an explosion similar to a stick of dynamite if not greater. Even if a pokemon wasn't immune, they'd still likely survive and still be able to battle against any small arms or the type of anti-personnel explosives suggested by the comic.
Considering the kind of projectiles some of the pokemon can create, energy and otherwise, there is very little chance any sort of infantry level arms would be very effective outside of a few low level pokemon battles. That's not even factoring in abilities like telekenisis, energy barriers, and natural physical shields some of the critters have.
The cartoon is amusing, but that chick would get raped in battle in the actual Pokemon world.
