Political Forum?

I did have some suggestions on how to re-order the forum, but it goes hand in hand with the additional forum I'd like added, so I decided to make a new thread for it, so as not to clutter up the other one.

I've long felt that our General Forum needs a little more restructuring.

You have game threads, political threads, rant threads, dead people threads, and even technical support threads, all under the same forum.

See my point? I think that the General Forum is far too cluttered and disorganized. I think a lot of the clutter would disappear if we could make 2-3 subforums to keep people from having to wade through threads they don't give a fuck about to find the one they want to post in.

I also think we'd benefit from a dedicated Politics thread. We're not *all* about fanfiction and writing! Sometimes it's nice to share your opinions on events, both domestic and abroad, with your fellow TFFers. I also think it'll encourage intelligent discourse and maybe get some more lurkers to post. Everyone likes to talk shit about politics!

The only way it will work is if it has constant oversight by staff with a very strict set of rules. Having done a stint as a moderator for a political forum before, let me tell you that it isn't easy, and that you usually catch a whole hell of a lot of flack for any action you take.

Political section seems like too much a leap from what this forum is about. Original fiction is one thing, but politics is not fiction in any form. As much as it sometimes seems surreal enough to be.

Politics may be brought up now and then, but it should not deserve it's own section here. Instead, it should be kept to the thread it popped up in and any leakage over into other threads dealt with quickly. Politics is just one of those volatile things best left alone whenever possible.

Yes, and then there's the kind of crowd that dedicated politics forums tends to draw. Just look at /pol/ on 4chan.
