Rag-tag Hope-Discussion

Until My apprenticeship is over, I'll just be a pilot with basic swordsmanship, And I'm changing my spell source, the last one was too overpowered, I'll be taking the MUCH easier and quicker to learn Summon spell rhyme's, from Jumanji. My most powerful spell's would be Monsoon, Stampede, Thunderstorm, and Tornado. And those would need to be used sparingly, since they would hurt ME to, although some of them would be useless, atleast against the Heartless, Human opponent's are a little better.

Plus my spell's are still slow, especially Monsoon, That would most likely be my slowest spell, also, some of them are changing, Monsoon doesn't come with the Crocodile's.

I hope I get a human opponent after that though.

Deluge of a thousand hungry leeches anyone?

I'll have to come up with a system of Nerf's...

List of Rhyme's.
* At night they fly, you'd better run, these winged things are not much fun - Spell for a flock of bats.
* In the jungle you must wait, till the dice read five or eight - Banishing spell, every minute a pair of dice appear and fall to the ground, when they roll a 5 or 8 the spell end's, returning the target.
* A tiny bite can make you itch, make you sneeze, make you twitch - Spell for large disease carrying mosquitoes.
* This will not be an easy mission. Monkeys slow the expedition - This is the monkeys' Spell.
* His fangs are sharp, he likes your taste. Your party better move, Poste Haste - This is the lion's Spell.
* They grow much faster than bamboo. Take care or they'll come after you - Spell for the flowering crawling vines. The barb-shooting plants and man eating flowers don't come with this.
* Don't be fooled, it isn't thunder. Staying put would be a blunder - A stampede of Rhinos is summoned.
* Every month at the quarter moon, there will be a monsoon in your lagoon - This causes a monsoon (rainy season).
* Beware the ground on which you stand. The floor is quicker than sand - The floor under the target's feet becomes like quicksand. Is canceled by another spell being cast.
* Need a hand? Why, you just wait. We'll help you out. We each have eight - This Spell releases huge spiders. The ONLY spell that summons something that will listen to you.
* You're almost there, with much at stake. But now the ground begins to quake - This unleashes an earthquake.
* Their boisterous laughing does provoke. In this adventure, they tell no joke. - Spell for hyenas.
* Splintered rafters all around. Duck them or they'll pin you down. - Spell for falling wood planks.
* With six-foot wingspan, sound of swish. It thinks the caster is a fish. - This is the pelican's Spell, or as I like to call it, the Spell that summons dinner.
* Enormous and yellow these flowers grew. Their flesh-eating blossoms are hungry for you - This is the man-eating plant's Spell, BE VERY CAREFUL.
* Raging waters ebb and flow. Beware pirahnas down below - Spell for Piranhas.
* Feline spots in the jungle blend. Be cautious of her, she's not your friend. - Spell for a Leopard.
* Elephants charging! You must confess...A freight train's damage would be far less. - This is the Elephant's Spell.
* Like a great white shark down the Nile. Beware the 25-foot crocodile. - This is the Crocodile's Spell.
* They march and eat and march and eat. If I were you, I'd watch my feet. - Spell for Army Ants.
* Raging and howling, a gale throws it's might. Hold on for dear life or be blown out o'sight. - Spell for a Tornado.
* Big as fists these balls of ice. Through umbrellas they will slice. - Spell for large Hail.
* An angry sky hurls bolts of light. If you can't take cover, you'd better take flight. - Spell for a severe Thunderstorm.
* When you see it, you will shake. It's big and green and rhymes with lake. - Spell for a Snake. You can choose what kind.
* Crawling and slithering up from the flood. Comes thousands of leeches to suck your blood. - Spell for Leeches.
* Jungle plague germs, there's a melody. You can't see them but they're deadly. - Spell for plague germs. Act's sort of like Bio.
* Hush now! Just listen, no complaints, no more gripes. The power belong to the beasts with the stripes. - This is the Zebras' Spell.
* A cavernous yawn with tusks of course. Be sure to skirt this river horse. - Spell for a Hippopotamus.
* These purple lovelies you'd want to grow...If it weren't for the poison barbs they throw. - This is the barb-shooting plants' Spell.

There we go, half of my spell's would try to kill me, about a quarter of them are useless against the Heartless, and the one's that SOUND impressive actually aren't, Tornado doesn't instantly make a Tornado, it summons the correct air current's which form a Tornado, this can take a bit, and then it's just a normal Tornado, just as likely to waste me as the enemy, the best way to use it would be to cast it, then run the hell away before it start's forming, pretty much all the Weather Spell's are like that.

All in all I'll have about 5-6 spells that are completely useful for battle, and 3 of them will only be good for running away. And the Spider's wouldn't be very good in battle, so I'd have a weird version of Bio, a temporary banishing Spell, a quicksand spell, and a Summon Large Spider Spell. The 'Drop wooden plank's somewhere' Spell and the Summon Vine's Spell might be useful though.

... I fell asleep, Which means I was half asleep while I was making this post, When I'm fully awake I'll look at it and most likely get rid of all of this.

What about my ability to turn pretty much anywhere into a Horrible Unrelenting Hell?

I should probably be able to cancel my spells atleast... I should probably keep a large supply of Ether's though... YOU DO NOT want to be in a Hell I conjure up without me having enough MP to dispel it.

Maybe I can eventually have a Death World, I would need an empty place to practice these spells at anyway... Well it wouldn't be empty for long...

Good call on that...

As for me, I'm thinking of having my character travel with Herc around the world of Hercules, fighting monsters and whatnot. The main problem my character would have, due to having so much anger at the loss of all he knew, would be succumbing to Darkness, and becoming a puppet of evil.

In the times where my character would enter a sort of "Dark Form", it'd be similar to Sora's Anti-Form in terms of dark power. Thankfully, an item Herc gave him can stave off the darkness...But I'd have some major trouble staving off the urge to succumb.

... Sorry but it doesn't work like that, Sora was a Heartless for the last part of the first game, Kairi just ended up making him a Humanoid Heartless, like Xehanort's. He started returning, or was returned to, normal at the start of KH2, that's what Anti-Form is, what's more, Anti-Form is WEAKER then his base form, only doing 75% damage, it's just faster, and it can't use weapon abilities or cast Spells.

If it was you... You would just become a normal Heartless, and after giving in that easy, you wouldn't even make a Nobody.

As I'm not completely oriented on fighting myself, I'd probably nominate myself for one of the camp cooks if anything, with sub jobs in some physical therapy and helping to put things together. Things being premade furniture, computer hardware, detail work in housing... I have an odd allotment of skills.

Also haven't really decided where to land initially.

Good point..I was thinking something like Dark Jak for when the darkness overwhelms me for that..but, I guess instead I could get a brief boost in power, but somehow manage to regain my composure before it's too late.

You could just get a power enhancing magical trinket from some Hero quest you do that only work's for a short while, it's pretty decently implied that if you aren't already pretty powerful then the Darkness will just swallow you whole once it gets inside you.

Besides, such trinket's abound in Greek myth's. You could probably just make one up.

My idea of a landing zone would be the Chrono Trigger world.

And before anyone asks, no I don't intend to bum around time with their crew. I intend to do some work with Marle, get engineering under me belt while they occasionally pop in with new teammates/problems while picking up ideas about the enchanting bullets and other magic effects from them.

From there..depends on how long I gotta wait on rescue.

Well, like I said, I don't plan on really meeting up with you guys. So, my role's gonna be scout. I'll be in other worlds, checking heartless types, creating safehouses and so on, but...

Wait, Shaderic: Did you say that we aren't doing the thing where we just post it?

Aarik

Kind of, You CAN just post it, you just have to use Quotes.

Shaderic

DrTempo, I'd follow Aarik's suggestion. It's pretty good.

Squall, don't you mean Lucca? Or maybe her dad, Tab-something or other...

Twinblade... Aarik just answered you. Man, he's on point.

But, if people want to play in just that format, just let me know. I decided to use the Quotes, because I liked the Post system, but I knew some people wanted to just write what they where doing, because the radios stretched things and they wanted to play another way.

Also, just like last time, if you want to give me a private suggestion, just PM me. I'm totally open to suggestions.

I did indeed mean Lucca, mon capitan. Misnaming coming from lack of sleep today, though my requested locale stands. I'm willing to change it up if you don't approve.

No, you're fine.

Taking a second look at Aarik on the other hand... Hmmm. How do you intend to learn these spells?

DrTempo

Hmm...I COULD whip up an artifact that does give my char a power boost, but in fact, it was made by Hades to lure me into the Darkness..I would get an atrifact from Zeus to balance it out...A la how Jak gained Light powers in Jak 3 to balance his Darkness.

You don't have steady access, so I'm trying to help you get everything straight.

Besides, everyone says RP's are always more fun if everyone tries to help out.

EDIT: I'm going to use my last background as a current guideline, I would have needed to look at it anyway since it has the rough timeline I need, I'm just going to start in the middle instead of before it start's.

It's just this time, I'll know all of you are there, instead of thinking I'm on my own and being stuck with nothing but time, I'll be in a bit of a hurry, so instead of devoting a few month's to learning the hardest of Rhyme Spell Set's, which channel Raw Cosmic Energy to super charge one stat, or bestow a powerful ability, I'll learn the fastest, easiest (and for what I'll have to fight, least useful) one.

Also, My grammer was really bad back then... Well worse then now.

Tempo: No. Hell No, in fact.

Why would Hades have interest in you? Or even Herc? (Easy enough to cover for Herc but...) And flippin' ZUES?! Lay off the Dues Ex Machina dude. You're overpowering yourself here. Remember the point here isn't UBERPWERZ. This has been explained before.

Also, Aarik... Thanks. I mean it.

And it come to me to help.
Okay you want a temp boost of stats basically? Then you find an amulet that once or twice per day can boost you for a set time with the option of trading health for extra boosts. That okay with both of you?

Edit
Also you want Herc's Attention? Have Phil think your a junior hero and go thro a couple tests. Do a mini tournment and etc.

On like any good power, I'd like to say that mine can be expanded and grown as well. Though in the spirit of the RP, I'm actually going to put the endgame time cap at about... five minutes. Times per day I haven't decided, though the superspeed rules will always remain the same. Maybe have one or two sages say that I'd have been stronger had I been able to start younger and be suitably frustrating.

Hmm stick another limiter on, cure spells only have... one third effectiveness if any at all when I'm in metal/machine form. And there's no mouth to drink potions with, so the transformation isn't something I can just turtle under to heal up in a tough fight.

Oooh this will be fun.

Sorry..I guess, when I land in Olympus Coliseum, I can ask Phil for training, and as my adventures go on(before Sora arrives in Olympus Coliseum for the first time), I could gain new powers from the gods as blessing to help stop the Heartless, as I journey the Hercules world.

As for Hades...Heck, he just wants to make me a Heartless.

GhostElder

Quick question Tempo... If Sora the keybearer wasn't getting blessings or powers from various greek gods, why would they suddenly be interested in doing so for a person without one or the ability to actually kill heartless instead of just displacing them from their current bodies?

Heck things seem to be in a fairly controlled environment at the moment in the coliseum, they may be uninterested with disturnbing the status quo, or are perhaps unable to help more than just creating that controlled environment for the heartless to be dealt with.

You seem to be having a bit of trouble with this.

WE (as in the player's) are NPC's, NAMELESS, NPC's, WE are less important then Abu to the Universe. The tiny monkey on Aladdin's shoulder is more cosmically important then we are, Hell his CARPET, is more cosmically important then we are, Tantor, WHO ISN'T EVEN IN THE GAME is more important then us, that stick with a sharpened rock at the end Tarzan has is more important then us.

THE LOG RIKU THROWS AT SORA IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN US. Even the Wooden Sword is more important then us.

We need to FIX this, we need to BECOME important, we need to ACT and DO, and through our action's, be SOMETHING to the Universe.

If Hades wanted you for a Heartless, And him wanting You specifically is still a stretch, he would just walk right up to you and tear that bitch out of your chest, and you wouldn't be able to do SHIT about it. Or at least send some Heartless to do it. YOUR NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH for him to play his games with, there's no point, your just an insignificant Ant to him, at most another tool to use for his game's, Your not Hercules, Your not Sora, Your just Some Guy from Some World, Somewhere.

OK, OK I got it...I was just trying to find a way to make my guy a bit unique.

Best use Hades would have for any one us in a tourney if we survive long enough as I see it:

Herc may be more reluctant to hurt an actual mortal and might expend more energy on the fight being careful not to hurt them too badly and be that much more worn down for whatever big guns/surprise/monster he has waiting at the end for him.

DrTempo

Good idea there...

I'll just give up on the "super powers" thing, and focus on just having swordsmanship and magic...
BTW, I'd like a mix of offensive and defensive magic..What should I be able to learn?

EDIT: I remember in the previous version of this, someone tried to become a Wild Card Persona-user...Should I try that?
