Oh good Christ, you're one of those retards who believes in the Crystal Tokyo fanon, aren't you?
My beef in that post is Usagi and Mamoru, not Crystal Tokyo... Usagi is actually a creep in anime.

You do realize Ranma 1/2 and Love Hina are comedies right? If the slapstick violence isn't to your taste that's fine, but still if you're taking them seriously your missing the point.

Rolls eyes...

And someone cannot write comedy story to include the characters that would normally get away scott free? I did not say it *had* to be a serious story for them to get steamrolled in... Soun Tendo is a good one... very few fics actually have him receive any fallout for what he has done... he is nearly as bad as Genma, and knows of Ryoga's curse... Why can't he have some payback, like in one story he accidentally gets an amazon after him... not as funny or easy to solve to him when it is happening to him. Nabiki getting a Jusenkyo curse was one comic form of payback I've seen in one story to approach it.

Actually, not that it would, since everyone seems against it, but that kind of karmic steamrolling could happen in a Dog Days cross... they get Ranma over, and his comic Karma fallout comes over as well... ruining their plans, intentions, and manipulations.... causing them nothing but grief in return for ruining a life.

I don't think a teenage boy getting summoned to a world of hot dog/catgirls counts as ruining his life. No, ruining his life would be first torturing his friends and family to death, framing him for it, having him 'escape' from prison when you summon him to magical 10% furry land, then castrating him before he gets to meet any of the natives and leaving him to his own devices, content in the knowledge that even if he somehow gets back home he'll just wind up alone and hunted by society at large for the crimes you committed.

After doing this, be sure to invade Poland. It's tradition.

Uh, wow. I was expecting a calm discussion regarding crossing a light-hearted almost slice-of-life fluff series with a slap-stick martial-arts comedy, but all I'm seeing is bitching from certain people, if you'll excuse me.

But, what am I talking about? Even with a new lease on internet life, Fanfiction Forum'll still be Fanfiction Forum.

Anyhow...

When I first noticed this thread, I'd instantly thought of some sort of AU, where a young Ranma and a young Ukyo was summoned. It seemed fitting, given Flonyardian-style of warfare. And Chibi Ranma and Chibi Ukyo, being martial artists, would treat this as the Flonyardians do, fun.

Of course, then came the dynamics of having such young Heroes. Of course, the first thought that comes to this is that all of the characters, especially the female characters, are going to be doting older sisters.

And then I also had the thought of Ranma and Ryoga, getting summoned during their junior-high years. The dynamics of their rivalry would go well with Biscotti and Galette's rivalry, thus changing the future of their friendship, if we wanna portray Ryoga as less of an idiot.

I'll need to do some deep thinking to see how the summoning would work on a Ranma that's more or less going through canon, before, after or otherwise.

I like this. Ranma gets summoned by the Biscotti, Ryoga by the Galette, work out something where Ryoga winds up with a fear of dogs akin to Ranma's fear of cats (whether or not this is because of a martial artist technique or simply because Ryoga is afraid of dogs is up to whichever is most hilarious at the time) and watch the theatrics unfold!

I'm not against Soun or Genma, or whoever getting a little karmic payback in fanfiction. It just sounded like you wanted to apply real world logic to a comedic fictional universe (If not my mistake). I can understand where your coming from when stuff that I know is meant to be played for laughs come's off as "Not funny" and I have to remind myself of the MST3K Mantra "It's just a show; I should really just relax." I mean if even half the things Genma did became publicly known Social Services would take Ranma away, the same could be said for Soun and his daughters, I'm not even going to mention the Kunos. The Amazons would be deported/arrested for attempted murder. The list goes on. If certain characters started getting karmic backlash for their actions the story would be over very quickly.

If they showed up young you'd have to be careful. As humans are not subject to the magical protections you need a suitably overpowered individual or a magical prodigy to survive the respective aces.
