Think about Ga-rei (if you're interested, translated manga scans can be found here). Suppose that Kagura were Nanoha, and Yomi were Fate. Poor Kensuke might be Yuuno, or perhaps Hayate.

Actually, I'm curious: has anybody tried making a Nanoha/Ace Combat cross? For some reason, I have a bunny hopping around in my mind where the big names from the Ace Combat series (The Demon King, Pixy, Talisman, etc.) were mages, and something happened where they needed to kick some ass. Also, Mobius 1 was a guy who's barrier jacket had ribbons on it (I REALLY want to say close to a magical girl seifuku, but that might be pushing it), and he was totally badass.

I resurrect this topic with an idea: a Reverse Reincarnation.
Not a character form a series who discover to be the reincarnation of a Nanoha character, but the inverse: a Nanoha character discover who seh was, in a past life, [random name] of [random universe].
Example?
Nanoha was Lina Inverse, Fate Amelia Will Tesla Saillone.

Make them less powerfull here.

Sayuri/Fate can levitate a pencil.

Yuka/Nanoha can summon a small flame to start a campfire with.

And... that's it for them.

The limit of their magical ability reincarnated.

They still have all their knowledge of magic though.

Now they have to use their wits to survive.
