Ranma ½ Rosario + Ranma

All right, I've really put this off long enough. It's time to lay it out here.

I haven't updated anything in over a year, and most readers have probably figured that I've stopped writing and updating. This is true. As of now (or rather, June of last year), all my Ranma 1/2 stories are discontinued.

I considered just letting them sit forever and letting people come to their own conclusions, but that isn't really fair. I have no intention of or motivation to continue these.

I apologize to my readers, who have been absolutely awesome to me all this time. But I started fanfic writing when I was fourteen years old, and like so many other authors, I started too many different projects with no real idea of how to wrap them up. I also invested very, very heavily into exactly one anime series, apparently with the idea that I'd never get into a different one as much. Ranma 1/2 is great, but it couldn't sustain my absolute interest and devotion for fifteen years. My memory of canon is spotty by now, and I don't even watch that much anime anymore. I tried to keep things fresh with a crossover with a newer series, Rosario Vampire, which was an awesome idea except that I don't really like that series at all. I think we've seen precisely how long I can drag out a fanfiction saga based on contempt.

But hey, we had some good times, and lots of laughs. I'm not planning on closing this page anytime soon, and I'm not touchy about my stories being used. If anyone wants to continue or refurbish any of these works or any of the characters within, they have my unconditional permission to do so. Go nuts! But it's time I moved on.

Farewell, and stay thirsty, my friends.
A real shame.

I actually had only thought about this yesterday and went to check out his website then profile. The sadness that comes with no more of this, Guardian and Millennium is immense. I'll miss some of his other stuff as well like Nexus II :'(

I literally grew up (as a fanfiction reader) on his stuff. I still enjoy coming back to his stories, and will continue to do so, but it is sad that they will cease to be built on. His sense of character and humor for Ranma was my favourite. Understandable though, if there's nothing there, there's nothing there.

Cheers dude! All the best and thanks for all the great stories!

Growing up with an author's fanfic stories. Brings a warm and fuzzy feeling to me, on the inside.

There is not a picture on the web that can accurately describe the amount of sads this makes me feel.

So long BD, Live long and prosper.

I always held out hope that even if Rosario failed to hold his interest, even in the Ranma setting itself bored him, that at least Guardian would go on.

When I first saw this alert I was depressed all day. BD is one of my favorite authors. I understand that sometimes you just have to move on, and he's certainly stayed with the Ranma fandom longer than I've stood by any fandom at all, but still. Great sadness.

Best of wishes to you BD, wherever you go and whatever you decide to do with your life. Thanks for all the laughs. You've given me more than any fanfiction author I can think of.

While I have been kind of half suspecting this I'm still incredibly sad to see him go.

Him and a few others, of which I think only Kestrel is still posting, got me through some really dark times at the beginning.

Either way, BD if you ever see this I wish you the best.

Farewell BD, I enjoyed all of your fics, and I wish you well in your future.

I guess I will never know how Guardian and Millennium ends.

It seems I was one of the few people who like this story a lot more than Guardian, although in the end while it's sad to see that BD is leaving the fanfiction industry I wish him the best of luck in any career he chooses to pursue.

I know me and many of his other fan's would recommend he get involved in publishing real books, but whatever he chooses to do I hope he ends up happy and fulfilled.

I always thought that Guardian could be remade into a original book. As a long time fan of is works, I've been reading his writing seen Delphi Forums , I will miss his work and hope his happy whatever his dose with his life.

On a little side note.
I met Black Dragon one time in real life. He posted on Delphi Forums that he is going to Anime-Expo to say that anyone is welcome to say hi. I was going to Anime-Expo that year and was looking for him and I was lucky to find him. He as dress up as Ranma. We talk a bit and I acted like a bit of an idiot. He had me looking after his stuff so he go the the restroom. After that we went our separate ways.

Can't really condemn someone saying thanks for the good times though.
Well, hope this post is okay then...

Aw, man. I thought I'd swing by to check on a favorite author and story, only to find this. This thread was actually where I first got the news about this. :(

Like several other people have already expressed, I really loved Black Dragon's fics and sense of humor. My personal favorites were his Master of Orion series (on Anime Addventure) and this one, Rosario + Ranma.

Black Dragon's stories brought me to tears of laughter over and over again.

And hearing about him finally running out of steam after over 15 years of writing for a fandom... Well, hell. That's far longer than I've managed for any other fandom, so I can't really criticize at all.

And, hell, BD's last post in this forum was August of last year; and he hasn't even visited this site since January. :( Does anybody even know where this guy just, you know, hangs out? Because frankly the FF.net profile update was about the most recent thing we have to go on.

So... thanks for all the stories, Black Dragon. I hope that one day we'll see you write for other fandoms again, or even just hear from you.

Apparently? Around 4 years. You just have a great talent for humor; I was laughing just as hard at the final update as I'd laughed at any of the others.

Every time I see someone post on this thread, I keep hoping that it's an announcement that someone else has gotten permission from Black Dragon to continue the story.

I assume it's BD showing up and saying goodbye personally

Ah, er... Sorry? I definitely know how that feels.

Though, hm... His last activity here on this site was on January. But his FF.net profile update was in June.

You could try sending him a PM over at FFN if you want to say "thanks" or "goodbye" or the like, he might be more likely to check it since he updated it 4 months ago. (Uh, this isn't like I'm saying "go bother him via PMs" though. Just, if you want to try to talk to him or leave a sign of appreciation or a "Thanks for all the laughs", then FFN was the last place he did anything, even if it was 4 months ago.)

... Eesh. 4 months isn't exactly new... Just, it's been even longer since he logged onto this site. :V
