Ranma ½ Rosario + Ranma

I kind of started to do a dedicated Python skit, realized it wouldn't really fit, and then just kind of left it as is.
As for Ruby, I didn't set out to contradict the readers or anything; I've never understood why anyone would think they'd get along.

Considering the mark gives +20 fire resistance shouldn't Tsukune not be effected when Kouma got hot later in the section? I mean he wasn't really going nuclear and +20 is a lot of fire resistance.

@Dumbledork: The Headmaster in this story is not a good guy. He manipulates everything to provide his own entertainment.

I wonder if he knows Happosai then.

Well, shucks. You're right. I was going to treat that as a throwaway gag, but now that you've brought it up, fire damage is actually quite common in this story, isn't it?

Nah. I can't imagine Happousai getting along with all the other ancient and all-powerful elderly jerks who keep mucking up the world with their stupid manipulations and labyrinthine plots. See also: Cologne.
Nobody invite Happousai to the good parties.

Yeah fire damage is probably the most common elemental damage type in this story. The only other one commonly used is Cold. Acid, Electric don't appear at all, and Sonic is pretty much only Kana. Mind you Physical damage types are probably a bit more common than even Fire, so it's not like Tsukune will be a tank. It does let him have a lot more survivability against Kuyo though. Which might really hurt Kuyo's esteem.

Yeah, actually, since Kuyo exclusively does intense fire damage, he's really the only one without a leg up on Tsukune any more. The poor bastard. I just don't give him any breaks.

Sweet, it's back! Did not see Kouma swearing himself to Tsukune, but he did make a good choice. Tsukune is now officially the kid with the leash.

Also, Tsukune is now immune or at least resistant to Saffron as well, isn't he? And part of Richard's arsenal! I can just imagine Richard throwing fireballs at Tsukune, but every time he forgets Tsukune is immune to fire and begins to think Tsukune is immortal, thus spreading exaggerated rumors of Tsukune's powers and species.

Also, a funny thought occurs to me. Tsukune is now going to be personally calling for every little brush fire because fire no longer harms him. He is now responsible for organizing a fire fighting committee on the side to deal with rampant property damage.

Actually Kuyo could probably do enough damage to get past FR 20 and seriously injure Tsukune. He'd just have to try harder. Basically it goes from him being able to casually one-shot Tsukune to actually having to put some effort into it. But that's not to say that he wouldn't feel some kind Flame Impotence if he didn't know why he had to try so hard to torch what he thinks is a regular human.

So the only enemy that couldn't do fire-damage to Tsukune is probably Lava Girl Enforcer, but she could probably still just beat him to death because rocks are heavy.

I feel like...

The way this should be used is either to make Tsukune an "adult" that is above childish fire-based tantrums,

or as a brick joke where he selflessly exposes himself to danger for his friends and they're all shocked and sad... but then he stands up and brushes himself off and is confused why they're making such a big deal out of it and he reminds them that he's got FR 20, so it was already accounted for in his plan all along.

Except it's only him, and not his clothes right? Not entirely sure he'd want to expose himself to the school. Unless he forgets to take that into account ;)

Apparently, their clothes are already flame-retardant, given how Kuyo toasted Tsukune in canon and barely scorched them.

Eh +20 fire resist for a human amounts to what exactly in this setting?
You could stand in a camp fire and it would make you uncomfortably warm. Fireballs and flamethrowers would be painful, but do very little actual damage. He MIGHT be able to survive Kouma or Kuyo's massive final-attack flames, but it's no sure thing, given low HP and all.

I'm not in a position to write a long review but I can tell this - I'm at work and have been asked at least twice, why I'm sniggering.

Dammit! :D

Their school uniforms are an 30%/70% blend of polyester and asbestos.
Cancer probably is mostly a human thing, as I've touched on before.

if you just change this
Tsukune actually yelps as he's forced to jump away, his arm scorched from proximity.
to this
Tsukune actually yelps as he jumps away. Expecting his arm to be scorched from proximity.

a large part of the yelp and jump away type reaction is expectation. Tsukune knows the fire is hot. Past experience says he will get burned, if he stays there so he moves away in fear. His fire resistance is still new, and was essentially a side note when he got it. Then it was instantly over shadowed by the devil possibly getting his soul or right arm. So it might have been over looked. Plus it would be funnier especially with the amount of fire attacks in the story. If Tsukune keeps acting like he does not have the +20 fire resistance. Then being confused there was no damage but is always so distracted by more important things. When fire damage happens that he forgets to question it.

also the funniest part of the whole wall of text was these 2 lines
"Tch! I was sure I had it that time!" Ranma complained. "Is my energy balance off?"
"No, your balance is perfect," Evil Moka admitted, "it's more subtle than that. Once your heel leaves the ground, but before you complete your rotation, it's vital that you make sure to BE A VAMPIRE."

Thank heavens for the Government protection I supposedly have! It will surely protect me, just like it does for all the other poor fools who get into accidents.

Keep up the good work mate! It brings a smile to my face among the drudgerys I have to deal with. :)

well as to the manga currently, I certainly have to give the author credit. He's got some originality.

And here we are with the usual. Not much in the way of worldbuilding this chapter.

  • "Soap Opera" - a spell that conjures giant soap bubbles that catch people and allow them to float in midair. Touhou Fuhai casts it by throwing an ofuda, and the bubble emerges once the ofuda comes close to the targets. It isn't stated if it allows controlled flight, if it just holds you airborne, or if it just grants a very controlled fall.
  • Huh, Alucard's main body's awakened form looks a fair bit different than the suppressed state that it was in up until now.
  • Okay, unless something unusual happens in the chapters to come, we've now had it made explicitly clear that Moka's rosary being completely broken will kill Outer Moka. She would get, at most, a couple of minutes to talk before she goes, it seems.
  • We don't know how he did it yet, but it seems that Mikogami Tenmei (the Headmaster) can evacuate most of the inhabitants of a city in less than an hour? It seems he didn't get everyone, but he was able to mitigate fatalities by a lot, it seems. Alucard noted that there were far too few corpses around, given the flying fortress crashed straight into the city.

Also, this chapter clarified that it wasn't Tokyo that was hit, but a completely separate Japanese city. My mistake. Still, the masquerade is screwed.

I think that season 2 as an overall series is screwed. Did Touhou Fuhai really use a technique called..........Soap Opera?

Maybe it`s not the time, but for some time, something has been in my mind; if i remember correctly, Ranma has already destroyed two mountains (one in the fight with Herb and the one in the fight with Saffron), but BD only mention the Phoenix Mountain; do you think this is relevant for the history?

New chapter went up, so you know what that means...

  • Huh... now that I think about it, how much have we seen Kurumu carry before? Because this chapter shows her carrying Kokoa in her arms, and Mizore on her back, and yet she's flying with no apparent difficulties.
  • Smoke will still obscure the sight of a succubus.
  • It seems that Mikogami evacuated the city without any supernatural means. He has a 'friend' somewhere in a very high-up government position. Mikogami contacted said friend, who had a 'tip' sent to the Ministry of Defense, advising to have the estimated crash site evacuated. As such, the only dead/injured due to the fortress collapse are at the outskirts of the city. He's also had armed forces prepared to enter the city after the impact to help fight Alucard.
  • Tenmei Mikogami's title among the Three Dark Lords was 'The Strategist', according to Miyabi. Mikogami says that now, he's just the Headmaster of Youkai Academy, "Nothing more, nothing less."
  • Mikogami has seen that, in the last two hundred years, humanity's military forces have developed weapons capable of destroying the world. Yet, humanity has realized that excessive force also equals excessive destruction, and are seeking ways for different nations/religions/etc... to work together. Having seen this, he feels that the youkai need to find ways to work with humanity as well. Hence, why Youkai Academy exists.
  • Mikogami feels that domination via power is outdated, and requires application of far too much excessive force.
  • 200 years of dormancy seem to have degraded the intelligence of Alucard's true body - Miyabi is finding that Alucard's reactions to his surroundings are unpleasantly slow, and that he cannot actually communicate with his true body anymore. He's forced to partially merge with his true body to serve as its mind.
  • Yeah, the military forces aren't doing too well, though given that Miyabi felt that he needed to take over for Alucard's degraded mind may suggest that even Alucard can be harmed by human military forces.
  • San Otonashi came back - and it seems that her singing is at least effective enough to damage Alucard's tentacles, and yet precise enough that the humans nearby are unharmed by the song they hear.
  • Akua seems to believe that, despite Moka's pulse having stopped, that she can still save Inner Moka's life. She does agree that Outer Moka is "most certainly" gone, though.

EDIT: Another chapter has gone up since the last one. Since nothing has happened in this thread since my last post, I'll just add the details to this one.

  • Sirens are considered 'the closest to the gods' among monsters. Incidentally, the humans mistook her for an angel upon seeing her.
  • Mikogami has one beastly punch - he actually knocked Alucard clean off his feet with one blow.
  • We finally got to see what Mikogami looks like under the robes: www.batoto.net/read/_/204204/rosario-to-vampire-season-ii_ch66.3_by_mangaholic/11
  • Tenmei Mikogami usually acts as the 'strategist/general', but this only applies when his seals are in place. When they are released, he becomes a 'berserker' instead.
  • ... Okay, that explains the punch. Mikogami is a Kishin, or 'Demon God' (a general term that covers all kinds of oni). The Brief Youkai Encyclopedia states that Kishin/Oni are derived from the Rakshasa. They are cannibalistic, innately belligerent, and are said to control destruction and ruination.
  • A note - the punch mentioned above happened while Mikogami was still wearing his own seals.
  • Touhou Fuhai is a Yaksha. Both Rakshasa and Yaksha are races that are servants to the Heavenly King Vaisravana (also known as Bishamonten in Japan).
  • This picture has Tohou Fuhai and Mikogami Tenmei in their unsealed forms: http://www.batoto.net/read/_/204204/rosario-to-vampire-season-ii_ch66.3_by_mangaholic/16
  • As the above picture suggests, both Mikogami and Touhou Fuhai expect that this is likely to be their final battle. Touhou Fuhai says that he didn't quite expect that 'following Mikogami' would result in them both going to hell together, but he's fighting anyways.
  • Apparently the whole thing with Jasmine and Akua in the past happened because Akua severely injured a human that Jasmine had fallen for, in the belief that said boy would only end up hurting Jasmine upon finding out what she really is. Said actions are what ended up setting off the vampire hunt that ended up killing Jasmine. [sarcasm]Good job, Akua![/sarcasm]
  • Jasmine, upon hearing Akua's reasoning for the attack, ran back to the village, because she honestly doesn't care at all about the differences between the races, and she hoped that she could talk the villagers down. As she puts it, '[she believes] in something much more valuable' than the distinction between races.
  • In his sealed, half-vampiric state, Tsukune's teeth are incapable of injecting blood into someone.
  • Tsukune more-or-less emotionally hits Akua in the Jasmine Zone when he says that he'll willingly release the Holy Lock so that he can give Inner Moka his blood to help save her from her otherwise-fatal wounds (this required more blood than Akua could give alone without killing herself), because he doesn't care about race - there's nothing more important to him than the person he loves.
