So would someting like this be a possible future of Rama's character? And does anyone else want an omake where Ranma had joined the nursing club, learned from Fran, and changed his name to McNinja?
These omake bits wouldn't be alternative plot lines, just little stories that would interfere with the plot if I tried to put them in the main series.

So I take it people like the silly C&C thing?

I like it.

I don't think shouldn't be a major part of the main story, since it would bog it down. But references to gaming sessions should be made and the occasional side story chapter expand on the events in question.

I'm getting nostalgic here. Reminds me somewhat of my own gaming sessions.
Me too.
In that the players are acting like jerks, trying to kill each other, and need their hands held to accomplish even minor tasks.
I have some rather bitter memories as DM.

So did my GM who got frustrated all the time and after some time gave up.

I could tell you stories...

There's always 'Knights of the Dinner Table' if you want to read some funny RPG related comics.

I've never given up or had to kill a party, but once I did have to maul a PC to keep him from killing the (female) party cleric, apparently as some arbitrary revenge against women in general because he had been dumped by his girlfriend the previous day (no connection whatsoever to the game or the girl playing the cleric).
Actually, now that I think about it, almost all of my DM problems were just that one guy.

Then the answer should have been obvious. He should have contracted the incurable Rocks Fall, Only You Die curse.

Sadly, most of my experiences as DM have been with either a) the worst kind of power gamers and b)players who do way too many reckless stuff and end up being killed.

Yeah, well, I managed to get through the campaign without doing that, so it's all good.
Besides, I lived with him at the time, and he was something of a drama queen (if you hadn't divulged). I didn't need that kind of misery.
But anyway, fishing for quest ideas for the omake game. I have grocery shopping so far, and I'm fleshing that out. I figure two more "quests" will be good enough.

Since it's Tokyo, have one of the characters take Otaku for a flaw, and force all the other characters to go get that one of kind ultra rare collectable, situated in the most dangerous of all places, a Con. If that doesn't teach them that they should have listened to Ranma, nothing will.

It would be a bit interesting to see you make 'cleaning/repairing the house' or 'doing the laundry at the laundromat' to be possible quests.

...wow its kind of hard to think of normal things being quests.

How about quests to have a fun and relaxing time at the beach or hot springs resort with traditional anime/manga crazyness occuring? Or attending a social gathering like friend's wedding or a party?

Laundry. Brilliance.
It's hard to think of an activity more mundane, yet more steeped in arcane lore and possible calamities.
"Permanent press? What the hell is permanent press? I don't have the skill points for this!"
"I don't think it's that big a deal-"
"Not a big deal? It's PERMANENT! We mess this up, and it's goodbye wardrobe!"
"My carpenter draws his chainsaw."

I do kind of like the anime convention thing, too, but it's probably not ordinary enough. No player without a deliberate otaku geek build would be able to handle it.
On that note "otaku geek" sounds like a prestige class.

Would it hurt your feelings if I said Omake>Plot?
It would, since it implies that I should totally give up on any semblance of serious characterizations and meaningful plot development and just write crackfics.
So don't say that. Or do you want to see a dragon cry?

The washer is of course broken, so they have to navigate to the laundromat.

The annual quest of tax season!

Jury duty for white collar crimes.

Kouma has to walk a dog for some reason.

They have to navigate the health care system for some reason.

Community college (prestige classes).

Helping a NPC friend move.

Traffic jams!

etc.

Failing a social interaction roll, leads to the help a co-worker move quest, encountering the gridlock obstacle.

Deciding what movie to rent, but, because of Yukari pulling a "I'm GM and it will be like I say" they can get only one. Or better yet, they can get one less than total number of pushy characters, so one of them will have to accept getting nothing.

"My lawyer uses persuasion"
"My Maid uses sexy persuasion"
"Corporate manager commands you to know your place"
"My carpenter draws his chainsaw."

Chainsaw gets a bit stale rather quick. It would be better if you had him pull random wood shop tools.
Jigsaw, lathe, chisels, hot glue gun. Also you do realize this could take the place of the "guess Ranma's monstrous nature" if you come up blank for whatever reason.

Chainsaws do NOT get stale. You shut your dirty, blasphemous mouth. Er, browser window.
