Ranma isn't know for his humility, and what has turned him into a part time talking cat hasn't helped in that department.

So one could argue that this story is logical in that regard.

Talking animals aside, I mean.

Unfortunately, I've been having certain thoughts about this one. thoughts were certain people feel that they must offer certain things in exchange for the privilege of petting his feline tummy. Things that his human form would appreciate more.....

Ehhh... in canon Kuno buys them.

In any case, I think it pretty smart, relatively speaking of course... She already has the info, so it is nearly 100% profit. And if she charges too much, the students will be mad enough for revenge.

Anyone truly smart would simply go up to him and ask.

My catnip joke was about the clever girls using catnip to bribe Ranma's cat form in order to get dates, information, ect after they find out about the curse anyways.

Among other flaws, Nabiki is really cheap, and her price for information seems to have little or no relation to the value of said information.

I also recall the coin-operated helicopter (although that was also a pride thing).
