I was just wondering , in the Type Moon universe if we would insert Naruto and Ranma what type of servants they would be ....

Ranma: i tend to place him in the following two classes :
- Rider ( agility and speed )
- Berseker ( Neko-ken )

Naruto: ( and you have quite a load full of problems )
- Berseker ( Kyuubi )
- Asassin ( He's a ninja after all )
- Caster ( A far fetched ideea but with all the ninjutsu he knows he could be one )

And for Bleach ( lol you have them already aligned )
- Ichigo - Saber
- Ishida - Archer
- Inoue - Caster
- Chad - ( i tend towards berseker due to his endurance but the dude is too freaking calm ), ?
What do you think ? what classes would be apropiate for them ?
( I'm placing this here because i dont see a Fate Stay Night section around here )

Berserker :
A little bit of info here about the word berserker
Berserker is the name of a legendary Scandinavian warrior who in the heat of battle transformed into animals ( from what i found out a wolf or a bear ). Also as a side fact in old norse the word berserk meant wild warrior .
+Ranma
I think Ranma fits the description quite well seeing as he "transforms" in a animal ( namely a cat ) and while in "neko" mode he doesn't retain any inteligence and relies on his instincts ( just think what he would do if he doesn't trust his master lol ) .
Heracles went in a murdering rage only once due to Hera's tampering ( resulting in the unfortunate death of his family ) afterwards he atempts to find redemption so we can't say that you have to totally fit the description.
+Naruto
Well i think we can agree here that Kyuubi Naruto is perhaps the best example of a berserker >>> he totally loses it be it friend or foe you go down .

Rider
+Ranma
The Rider class doesn't actually presume that in they're life the servants were "riders" ( minor/major spoilers following):
Medusa the rider class servant in Fate Stay Night was was not a rider in mythology but she had a connection with horses since at death from her blood Pegasus the winged horse was born. So i'm placing my bets on the fact that Ranma fights almost the same way ( fast&agile) and has a weird connection with horses as well ( Wild Horse lol).

Asassin
+Ranma
I can't actually see Ranma as an asassin with his attitude ( especially with his sense of honour )
+Naruto
Yup Naruto is a loudmouth and he doesn't have most ninja characteristcs but his jutsu's recommand him for this class ( Rasengan > guaranteed kill , Kage Bunshin > 'Who me ? I was at the party lol ' )


And for the Bleach dudes i'm not going to explore them until i find out how far you are in the anime/manga .

Now for my two cents about servants ( the exceptions mostly) : I noticed that even if you don't have a legend you can become a hero ( Archer class >>> Shirou ) and that the hero doesn't necesarilly have to exist ( Asassin class >>> Fate Stay Night was a fictional hero ) it's only enoughf for the legend to be there . So the basics of being a servant are:
a) you were a renowned legendary figure who at the moment of death wanted to fix something in your life ( Saber for example) . I suspect that you can't be a servant if you died a "happy death"(you have to love the deaths of Heracles,and Chu Chulain )
B) you have a legend yet as a real person you haven't existed . I also guess that the class you have is also influenced by the perception people have about you ( ex: Medusa is associated with Pegasus , Heracles with the slaugter of his family ) and not only by the weapon you wielded ( BIG SPOILER: for example Gilgames used a sword in his life and Medusa can be easily classified as a witch ). Heh i'm running out of gas for now :p

Quick question: what happens if a Master summons a Servant that's too powerful for him to control?

Like, say... someone along the lines of Dark Schneider, who has massive reality-altrering powers of his own, or even worse, a Great Primeval like the dragoness Alexstrasza from the Warcraft universe?

In short, someone whose power is so excessive, it dwarfs its own summoner, and makes ANY attempt to control them pointless?

Actually if i remember correct if you summon a strong servant that you are unable to control ( with or without command spells ) you die . Example : Caster killed her master when she was summoned .

As for Ranma the ice staff he used against Saffron could easilly get him in the Lancer class if his "legend" remembers him due to it . So in fact the class of the servant is mostly determined by the perception about they're legends . What i am trying to say here is that as you have told Heracles was wide known for the massacre of his family so can Ranma be wide known for his state in the Neko-ken ( what opinion would you have about a person that has no control over his actions ? Especially when you are not aware of the Neko-ken ? ) . As for my little contradiction you have to admit Naruto IS a ninja and has killed more than one people it's in the job description after all ( Interesting fact : we can say that the seal allowed for him to be connected to the Holy Grail War ) when Ranma ( who has a weird honor ) has only killed one and at a lot later stage in life .

A very interesting fact about Heracles ( as pointed out ) is that he is a servant that could fit in more than one class : Archer , Rider ( Ran after a dear and caught it , cleaned the stables of wild horses ... ) hell if you force it a little even Saber . So i guess that indeed perception of your legend is the key to your class ( So Ilya was in a foul mood when those wolfs attacked her )

Oh just a little ideea ,(not to be taken seriously) as you first said Rider class requiers you to ride something does that count for frogs ? LOL

Spoilers .....

N 1 : You can't say that the Itachi possesed guy survived the evolved rasengan ( Kabuto barely survived the regular one and he was a medic nin ) and also the fact that he wasn't fazed in the least by what he did might be a clue to the fact that he is used to killing people .

N 2 : The Neko-ken situation > Ya pretty harmless BUT as i am trying to say here Heracles was a pretty good hero ( not a berseker and all ) he just went insane due to Hera ONCE , i'm reffering more to the asociation with the "inner beast" in Ranma's case eh.... Oh and you don't necesarilly have to have the weapon of your class ( Archer > uses swords ( not good example i know ) but in FTN ep 3 if i remember right Lancer questions the nature of Sabers weapon )

N 3 : Yup you are absolutly correct about the command spells but i have to underline something here : If the servant is stronger than the master and she/he doesn't have a honor code then most likely the summoner is dead ....

N 4 : About the seal connecting Naruto with the HGW , it's a small ideea i had after watching the first 6 eps from FTN about introducing Naruto as a servant/master in a crossover using the seal as a medium between the servant's world the HGW world and his . If you think about it both servants and the Fourth "die" in similar manners ( as they're souls are not allowed rest ) the Yondaime's soul is sucked by the Death God and the Servants enter the golden throne arghhhh ( need to find some notes i had .)

Ok no more about bersekers ( not that i don't have arguments & ideeas )until i find an officiall definition of the class . But returning to the staff issue : you don't have to have the weapon your class name sugests you have ( ep 2-3 FTN ) ( gah i'm tired after classes and in no mood to type more ) . As for the Naruto seal issue ...... ya quite weird , it almost leads to the conclusion that Kyuubi is still alive because they wanted a weapon ( the fourth and the third ) but in the goodie goodie Naruto world it seems far fetched ( although if it were to be a little more realistic you have to admit at the plausibility of this theory )

One-Hit-Kill tehnique , makes you wonder who we can find in mithology that has this ability .... Oh David ( as in King David from the bible ) The slingshot = instant kill lol
Now back to being serious ( or not ) : You know who would make a good assasin ? Rurouri Kenshin ( or better said his battousai mode ) but he also classifies for the saber class ( i guess it depends here on who you want Kenshin or the Battousai ) . My brain is currently pressing charges against me for lack of sleep ... i think i'm gonna lose the trial .

That's actually a VERY possible one. The Battousai was an actual person, along with Saitou and a few others from Rurouni Kenshin. Not as powerful as the one in the anime, obviously, but he was still a powerful warrior. :p

I see you haven't yet mastered the power of sleep depravation. Many authors live on it... since, as it's said, "there is a fine line between genius and insanity." Most just milk off the insane bit though. :lol:

You have brought a very interesting dillema to me ... who would make a good assasin ?
Ulisses ? ( although he is sneaky enoughf his deeds tend to point to another class )
Estera ( if i'm not wrong this is her name , she saved Ierusalim from an invading army by killing the enemy leader ). Arghhh need to find more ( Gotta catch them all !? )

As for the sleep depravation issue .... : Teach me Obi-Wan lol

Something to note about the Assassin class is that it is almost entirely made up from the Hassan Sabbah(s). The only exception to this is the fourth Grail war's Assassin who is actually a fake one anyway.

That's one more reason for me to find more asassins out there ... Damn i forgot the name of the monk that killed Henric the 5th . Although if we were to look i'm sure we could find more than one in France's history ..

And back to my problems i am ... It seems that lack of sleep is good ( you try it too ) because i remembered the names of a few characters in history who can pretty easy fit the class :
Brutus - the assasin of Caesar
Bessus - the assasin of Darius III
Hattori Hanzo - famous ninja in the Tokugawa period ( mainly because he become a daimyo based on his achievements )
Sarutobi Sasuke ( very famous ninja due to his death )


Gah i don't need no sleep ... yes come to me my pretties muahahahahaha

I don't know if he would fit ... he wasn't an asassin in the meaning of the word .... more like a ruthless killer ( many theorize that there were more then one mad men involved there ... )

I'm starting to suspect some lurker on this forum got smart and shoplifted Mosh's idea... I don't like to think the worst of fellow forum goers, but... I don't believe in coincidences either.

That reminds me about something I have always wanted to know - I have occassionally seen guests here on this forum, but whenever I access this site, I need to log in before I can peruse its contents. Thus, I was under the impression that there should not have been any guests around, since anyone present would have to register first.

Am I mistaken? Or is this some weird setting unique to my comp? :unsure:
