Teen Titans Go

Teen Titans, is making a comeback, with the same voicecast we all know and love. Unfortunately while it is going to be full episodes it is going to be in the comedic fashion of the shorts we have been seeing on DC Nation.

Well you know what they say "beggars can't be choosers".

I still would have preferred that the original cartoon take on this team would have continued, as it was one of the best incarnations of the Teen Titans ever. Well at least we still have Young Justice for a while, and that may get renewed.

As long as we have YJ, they won't renew bring Teen Titans back the way it was. They won't confuse everyone with a two mildly serious versions of the same characters. And really YJ is like a mashup of old school YJ and the Titans.

Now if only was could get them to bring back JLU then we'd have something. I'd take some more JLU over all the rest of the DC nations lineup.

Just for fun I'm posting a vid discussing who would work in a Teen Titans live action Movie.

<a href='http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/teamt/blockbuster-buster/blockbuster-buster/35849-casting-the-teen-titans' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Teen Titans Casting</a>

Honestly, I only agree with the casting of Stephen Lang, Saoirse Ronan, and Brandon T. Jackson. I have yet to see Inception so I will reserve judgment on his choice for Robin until later.

Well, we've got clips of the show and it's less than a month away now, anyone have thoughts?

I'm I the only one who got a good chuckle when the announcer on the commercial said 'what ever you do never look her (starfire) in the eyes' or has the internet simply ruined me?

Not sure how many of you watched the TV airing...

But that was funny. I like this Raven. She's a troll and a half.

Also....MLP joke 30 seconds into the show...in the form of "Pretty Pretty Pegasus". Not sure how I should feel.

I don't know how they did it but I love this version of Trigon. Part regular Dad trying to impress Raven's friends, part evil overlord. And the way he started using his powers to clean her room and open her windows was a nice touch. Or giving Starfire the ability to speak normally and understand slang. It's like they fully animated a huge crack-fic.

I'm...conflicted. I only caught part of the episode, I'll admit, so I can't really put up a fair thought, but, I don't know, it just didn't click with me. I know it's only the first episode and I can see why people may enjoy it, but I guess I just preferred the combination of serious and comedy that the other Teen Titans cartoon had.

I'll reserve overall judgement until we see more, but it almost seems a bit much.

Admittedly I'm speaking mostly out of bitterness but after the cancelation of Young Justice, Green Lantern and the fact that I still prefer the original Teen Titans over what I've seen so far....I want 'Teen Titans Go' and 'Beware the Batman', to go down in flames ratings wise.

This Trigon... this Trigon. My brain like to MELTED watching that for the first time. Though yeah overall the characters seem to be swinging way more towards the amoral cartoon sociopath alignment than normal. That Trigon bought them one season of grace from me though before I start calling for the angry mobs.

Wait.

They brought in a toned down version of Tiny Titans Trigon?

Suddenly, I give a fuck.

I would rather have regular teen Titans back too, but this has its merits. How can you fault a 'verse that showed Robin losing his license for wrecking the Batmobile, having him getting chewed out for it by Batman over his cell phone, AND Raven calling it the Batmobile when the Titans make fun of him over it when he explains the situation to them? It's total crack but it's entertaining crack in its own right.

I'd likely be more tolerant of the series if YJ was still on the air. That way I can have my crack and a more serious take on the mythos. As it stands I will have to wait for Man of Steel & Arkham Origins to get a decent DC story.

Was that Ra's al Ghul's corpse under Starfire's bed in the episode where they are looking for Silkie? Also, LOL at Batman and Commissioner Gordon out fishing on the Batboat.

Okay, I was watching the episode where Raven gave Robin basically ALL of Superman's powers to teach him that having super powers sucks and he ends up stopping all world crime and putting the Titans out of business. Robin then goes and looks for a corporate job. Is Dick special needs? Um, you HAVE the ultimate corporate job waiting for you if you want it, Grayson. You're Bruce Wayne's (at this point since Dick is still Robin) sole heir. And honestly, he might even smile at the way you just showed up the boyscout with the same power set. Never mind that if Batman's mission is really over he might heal as a person and act like a father toward you again. I mean I like the crackiness of TTGo and all, but this one just rankled.

The newest episode "Tower Power" was terrible. I just watched it today and it was just bad, plain and simple.

I'm betting that most of us saw the original Teen Titans series and remember all the episodes where Cyborg reaffirms his humanity. (Cyborg vs Atlas, Cyborg vs Fixit, Cyborg vs Brother Blood)

This episode was literally spitting in the face of all those episodes and making it seem like being 'human' was holding him back. The dramatic character development that we know from the old is being pushed aside for the 'comedy' of the new. I know it's crack and stuff, but it shows that the 'comedy' has been on a slow decline.

Well I sat down and watched some episodes, not impressed but I will give them credit for a background joke in the 'Sidekick' episode. while Robin is near the trophy wall in the Batcave you can see an Urn marked 'Robin II'. That would've prevented Ra's from resurrecting him to be fair.

Well, it's obvious that Raven will have BB wrapped around her finger when they start dating.

I have to give them credit, they still surprise me with a good episode now and again. They had one where Silky was looking for a Titan to sleep on as the premise to explore each of the Titan's dreams until they get so fussy they make Silky move to the next Titan. Robin's dream was literally clips for the Titans in Tokyo dubbed to talk about how cool he was and how everyone needs to see him kissing Starfire. It was funny as hell. It was like the MSTing their own earlier work.

The best creators are the ones that don't take themselves too seriously. Always like it when creators poke fun at themselves.
