TFF logo suggestions !

By now, most of you should be aware of our "Original Fiction writing contest". The best entries will be published as part of an anthology. For advertising (and ego) reasons, we need a logo. Suggestions open!

Now, I'm not sure if it should be a permanent logo, or something we change every year, but at least for the sake of the contest I need something selected within the next 3 weeks. If the discussion remains civil, we could have a popularity contest to pick a winner.

As far as the original fiction contest goes, I'm hoping to actually send paper-printed copies to the top 3 winners. Considering that black+white printing is cheaper than color, my personal preference is towards such designs.

After a bit of experimentation, I came to the conclusion that its only missing in the "fallback" theme. Last I checked, it was still there in the default one...

Right now, I'm just pretending not to see the "image is missing/not available" message.

Shows for me in IE 11...


I just tried it in Avant in all modes it is showing, IE 10 mode, IE compatibility mode, Chrome Mode, and (shudder) FireFox mode.

Bet people have in their scripts as blocked or something...

And I deleted my cookies and cache yesterday.

I tried viewing that via a proxy (the hidemyass.com site) and behold! I could see the image. This is most definitely some screwy country-lock thing.

Dammit!

This lot is visible to me as well.

But can we ... well, fine-tune them a bit? I like the picture to the left, but it's so obviously different from the wording. Any way we could change the background or something? So it fits better? :huh:

The closest font I've seen is Bucintoro Medium, which costs money.

Any way we could change the background or something? So it fits better? :huh:

What do you mean, any example you can think of? I'm not the most imaginative of people.

Make the logo transparent or give it a solid background color? I tried the former and it didn't turn out very well. I'll give it another shot.

Edit: Okay, I've found a font that's quite similar and for free. What color should the logo be, or should we keep it grey?

I suppose this is a dumb question... but do we actually need a logo other than the name?

Not my call, but I come here for the fan fiction stories and discussion (when it is sensible at least), not any snazzy eye catching logo.

That was the original reasoning for the logos we use now- we're here for text, why not have a text logo?

A text logo? Like ... something IBM uses?

Ugh. That first attempt didn't turn out so well. Can't even read TFF in there... I just tried grabbing a few fonts from http://www.fontspace.com/, putting them in MSword and typing "TFF". Are the other two any worth-while?
