So, I was looking around, and I haven't been able to find a good thread for Noble Phantasms. There was one for Create your own Servant, so I decided to apply that idea here as well.

So, show off your stuff and create to your heart's content. (And I will shamelessly ask to borrow some possibly maybe for my own twisted purposes most likely.)

To start, here's a hard counter to the otherwise OP Gilgamesh.

Shirou closed his eyes, his mind feeding him what he needed, and when he opened them, his weapon of choice appeared in his hand and the King of Heroes flinched.

“You, mongrel. Where did you find that?”

“I don’t answer to you, oh King of Heroes.” Shirou grinned as the hieroglyphics etched into the length of the ancient blade began to glow. “ For my name is Ozymandias, King of Kings. Look on my works, ye mighty. And Despair.”

Gilgamesh took a step back as Shirou readied his sword. “ Ozymandias, The Hand of Empty Wonders. Can you see it? Your end? Are you ready, because I swear, for what you have done, you will fall.”

Noble Phantasm:
Ozymandias: The Hand of Empty Wonders
Rank: B+ ~ EX (See The Mighty Despair)
Classification: Anti-Country
Special: The Mighty Despair.
The rank of Ozymandias will increase when used against an opponent who has left behind some form of legacy or impact on the world. For example, if used against some poor thug, it would be B+. If used against, say, Julius Caesar, then it's rank would increase to about A+. Against Gilgamesh, the single being from whom all other legends followed, it is one of the most powerful Noble Phantasms around.
Special: Pass into Oblivion. As the works of Ozymandias were destroyed and buried by time, so too will those of everyone else in the end. When used, Ozymandias weakens and then destroys the possessions and weapons of his opponent. The stronger the item in question, the longer it takes to weaken and destroy.

Ea, by nature, is unaffected by Ozymandia's second effect.

If you're making this up then this should be in the ideas section.

Oh. I looked through both the Talk and Ideas section and couldn't quite figure where to put it, since there was a Make-a-Servant thread under the Talk section I figured I could put it there as well. Mostly because I figured that the thread could serve as a discussion point for the creation of Noble Phantasms.

If it should be moved, then can you tell me how to go about doing so?

I'll just PM one of the mods (chronodekar) and ask him. Regular users can't move threads around.

On topic?

Noble Phantasm: Marcus Brutus: The Blade of Betrayal
Rank: C+
Classification: Anti-Unit
Special: Strike Without Warning
Strike Without Warning is an anti-unit attack that can only be activated against an opponent that believes the wielder of the Blade of Betrayal to be their ally. The strike is undetectable until it has struck, but is never immediately fatal.

While this has the potential of becoming a garden for ideas, the OP's purpose appears more towards talking about alternate weapons (and related discussion) than about fanfiction plots.

The current "Talk" section suits that just fine. :)

Good to know :)

Figure'd I'd round out some of the Norse weapons, so here are Gungnir and Mjolnir.

And before you guys comment on how they seem OP, they are weapons of Gods.

Noble Phantasm: Gungnir : The Declaration of the Elder God (Official Type-Moon name)
Rank: EX
Classification: Anti-Fortress
Special: Runes of the Gods. Etched into the blade of Gungnir are powerful runes that grant the wielder of the spear increased physical capabilities. By channeling Prana into the runes, the user can cause the spear to be sheathed in lightning, fire, or ice, as well as other effects.
Special: Unerring Spear. As the predecessor for Gae Bolg, Gungnir is also possessed of an ability related to infallible aim. Unlike Gae Bolg though, Gungnir's ability is passive. The spear was described as being so balanced that it could strike any target, no matter the strength or skill of the wielder. This means that every strike will hit. They can't be blocked, and the spear itself will twist and shift direction to score a blow.
Special: Master of the Aesir. The spear Gungnir is the principal weapon of the Elder God Odin, and is the weapon he shall use when he faces Fenrir at Ragnarok. The weapon itself, after being associated with Odin for so long, possesses a Divine Nature that it bestows upon its wielder. Most of the time this is simply granted at a C-Rank. However, when the user is knowingly entering into a situation that is suicidal, one which the ending is all but guaranteed, then the Divinity granted will increase several levels. If the wielder manages to turn things around, then the Divinity will decrease back to it's original levels.
Noble Phantasm: Mjolnir: The Hammer of Storms and Thunder.
Rank: EX
Classification: Anti-Fortress
Special: Stormbringer. The wielder of Mjolnir, with time, is able to use the weapon to call upon the power of Gaia in the form of a storm. The storm itself can vary from a blizzard, to a thunderstorm, to a hurricane, and beyond. The choice belongs to the wielder.
Special: Thundermaker. The impacts of the weapon are so strong that they generate thunderclaps with every strike. The wielder is protected by the magic of the weapon, but his opponent will suffer the full brunt of the shockwave unless incredibly well protected through magic of his own or through A-Rank Magic Resistance, and even then the effect is merely reduced. The wielder may also choose to slam Mjolnir into the ground; doing so will cause an earthquake centered on point of impact.
Special: Lightning-caller. The wielder of Mjolnir can raise the hammer towards the sky and bring down bolts of Divine lightning capable of piercing all but the most powerful defenses.
Special: Thor's Hammer. Mjolnir, as it was given to Thor, will never fail, if thrown never miss, and never fly so far that it might not be
be called back to his hand. Mjolnir is thus immune to any effects which would cause a weapon to weaken or be destroyed. Mjolnir may be thrown at an opponent, and it will never miss. This will also trigger Thundermaker. And lastly, after throwing Mjolnir, or should it ever be dropped or knocked away, it can be called back to it's original wielder's hand with a thought.
Special: Weapon of the Gods. As a weapon similar to Gungnir, Mjolnir also possesses its own Divinity. However, as a flawed weapon, due to Loki's meddling Mjolnir was crafted with a handle that limited the weapon to only being wielded one-handed, the levels of Divinity of the weapon and that which it grants are both lower. The wielder gains Divinity at a D-Rank.
I'm also willing to take requests and prompts. Leave a comment or PM your idea and I'll see what I can do.

hm...

Hero: Spartacus
Noble Phantasm: Plundering General of Victory
A slave's reversal of fortune, pillaging the treasures of the oppressor.
Rank: E - A+
Effect: In legend, the Thracian gladiator who led a rebellion of slaves defeated the first two consular legions send after him, and personally seized the swords of the commanders. Accordingly, this Servant can seize the Noble Phantasms of any Servant he defeats, although possession does not imply mastery.
Two usages.

Hero: Svafrlami (+Many)
Noble Phantasm: Tyrfing
The Golden Sword for Killing.
Forged by the dwarves Dvallin and Durin while prisoners of King Svafrlami. Expression of their pride as swordsmiths as well as their grudge as hostages. Among all Demonic Swords, the one possessing the strongest cursed nature.
Rank: A+
Special: Gleam of Fire
Effectiveness of all armors and protections reduced by one rank.
Special: Indelible stain of murder
Whenever Tyrfing is drawn, it will kill someone.
Special: Trouble comes in Threes
Tyrfing will cause Three Great Evils (completed).
Special: Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword
The first owner of Tyrfing will commit suicide (completed).

Hero: Longinus
Noble Phantasm: Spear of Destiny
The spear that the Roman Legionnaire, Caska Longinus, used to deliver the killing blow to Jesus of Nazareth on the Cross--thereby ending his suffering.
Rank: EX
Effect: Whomever bears the Spear of Destiny will win.
Prana consumption is proportionate to the scale of reality distortion required to alter destiny. Furthermore, victory does not guarantee survival.

Hero: Longinus
Noble Phantasm: Immortality
Moved by compassion for his pain, Longinus euthanized Jesus on the Cross, and was splashed with God's Blood. Equally blessed for his kindness and cursed for his sin, Longinus will wander the Earth without dying until the second coming of Christ.
Rank: EX
Effect: Functions as Perfect Battle Continuation. Longinus will not age or die before the Second Coming and will (eventually) recover from all wounds, no matter how grievous.

Hero: El Cid
Noble Phantasm: Tizona
The favored sword of the legendary hero of Spain.
Rank: C - B+
Special: Reflection of Heroism
The power of Tizona increases in proportion to the wielder's stature as a Hero.
Special: Terror of Heroism
All enemies must save vs. Bravery the first time Tizona is pointed at them: failure results in action loss for 1-3 rounds as they cower in fear. Usually not effective on other Heros, but normal people are a different matter.

Hero: St. George
Noble Phantasm: Ascalon
The spear used by the Saint of Knights to pin down and slay the Dragon of Libya.
Rank: B+
Special: Arms of Salvation
Possession of the "Anti-Dragon" special property.
Ranks up when used to save someone from monster(s).
Special: Castigation of Evil
In legend, St. George pinned down the Dragon with the lance and called it to task for its sins. Accordingly, any enemy pierced by Ascalon cannot withdraw or otherwise escape from it as long as the wielder holds them down with it. (Enemy must escape with opposed Strength check only).

No, I'm pretty sure he got it right.

And dang it Daniel! I was gonna do Tyrfing...

Other than that little gripe, nice work. I do have a couple questions though.

#1. Why is Spartacus' NP limited to only 2 uses? And can it seize control of Ea, Excalibur, or Avalon?

#2. I thought Merodach the Original Sin was the most powerful cursed sword, hence it's title.

#3. Can Longinus be countered by another weapon that grants foretold success? For example, if the enemy was like Shirou or Archer, and they summoned the NP's of the Norns or the Moirai, who would win?

Other than that, pretty cool. I'm too tired to post any other's, but I'm thinking up some ideas for Laevateinn and Aegis.

I think you mixed Longinus with the Wandering Jew.
I'm not the one that did that, those two have had a lot of thematic overlap for like, six hundred years. But you're fundamentally correct, Caska Longinus and Lorenz Keel have a lot in common.

Fellgrave said:

Because the third time, he lost. Since it's fundamentally theft instead of re-creation, I don't see why it wouldn't apply to those NPs.

Fellgrave said:

Merodach, or Marduk, was a Babylonian water god that peacefully succeeded Ea as the King of Gods, as recorded in the Enuma Elish.

I have no idea why the sword Merodach was called a Cursed Sword.

Well, I was really referring to, how many people died because they get personally stained by Tyrfing's curse, more than anything else; I wasn't going for "most powerful sword that is cursed", but "sword with the most powerful curse".

Stuff from Prism Ilya doesn't really count. It's an AU and thus, well, AU. If it shows up in an official TYPE-Moon databook, I'll change my mind.

Maybe.

Well this seems interesting, let's give it a go.

Here is King Solomon's "Emerald Studded Sword" from the legend of Amir Arsalan.

Noble Phantasm: Shamsir-e Zomorrodnegar
Hero: Amir Arsalan
Originally created by the legendary Magi King Solomon this sword was stolen by the "demon" Furad-zereh. This Hybrid's mother, a powerful witch, had cast a spell on him that rendered him invulnerable to physical harm, however the power of this sword was sufficient to break through the spell, causing him to live in fear of it's power. Eventually the Hero Amir Arsalan would claim the sword and kill the demon and it's mother.
Rank B+: originally a B Rank Noble Phantasm it was not Arsalan's legend which boosted it's power, but it's status as one of the few "Magical Objects" known to have been created by the legendary King Solomon, who even in the modern age is renowned for his wisdom.
Effects:
Magic Resistance: C
As a charm that protects against magic it bestows a C Rank in Magic Resistance, with the obvious weakness that it is only effective when it is touching it's bearer. If the sword is lost either by theft or simply being knocked from it's wielders hand the effect is lost.

Damage Type "Anti Spirit": crafted by Solomon to combat Djinn and other beings with "spiritual bodies" this weapon deals extra damage to anything that is "Spiritual" in nature whether it be a mere Elemental or something as advanced as True Ancestor, who being a Faerie Creature born of Gaia's will are considered amongst the highest of the Phantasm Races. Notably since it works by damaging the core of such beings that "differs" from mundane lifeforms in the structure of the soul, Hybrids can be effected to a certain extent, though nowhere near as much as a true member of the Phantasm Races.

Cursed Wounds: Wounds inflicted by Shamsir-e Zomorrodnegar cannot be healed by either mundane methods or the thaumaturgy of the modern era. Only by receiving the "blessing" of a High Level Spirit can such wounds be healed. However since said blessing takes the form of the being giving up a part of it's own body to heal the afflicted it is unlikely that such cooperation can be secured. One could simply kill the Spirit and use parts of it's "Body" to heal, but this carries dangers in and of itself, most notably the lingering resentment of the slain elemental often bringing a curse down upon those who have "devoured" it's substance.

Seal of Solomon
Given to King Solomon by an angel, this ring gave Solomon power over all spirits.
Type: Anti-Spirit
Rank: Ex
Special: Protection from Demons
No demon may raise a hand against, or directly harm the wearer. Treat as if the wearer had A+++ rank magic resistance when the source was a demon.
Special: Demon Control.
Wearer may issue any command they desire to a demon or djinn, and the spirit will be forced to obey the command, no matter their wishes.
Special: Sealing
If a demon is within a closed container, using this seal on the opening will prevent the demon from escaping, until and unless the seal is broken, or the container destroyed.

Supposedly, Solomon used it to depopulate Hell, and command all the denizens of it to build the Temple. I think that makes it deserve an Ex rank if nothing else.

Maybe reduce the rank if used against demons form outside the Judeo-Christian tradition?

#15
Demons in the Type-Moon universe are more like conceptual entities, aren't they? So I'm not sure if the religious tradition matters for making distinctions between them. But knowing the Type Moon universe, there are probably "traditional" demons along with the "imaginary" demons, so make of that what you will.

Moralltach, The Great Fury
This legendary weapon was granted to Diarmuid Ua Duibhne by his father, Aengus Mac Og.
Rank: A+
Moralltach has no special abilities beyond its passive enchantment: all wounds dealt by Moralltach, no matter how minor, are mortal wounds that will kill without fail. This ability works by imbuing the concept of "death" into an entity, and as such it is effective even against "immortal" foes. However, the sword has no special ability to penetrate magical or physical defenses.

It's more of an interpretation out of the Iron Druid Chronicles than the actual legend.

The Sword of Nobody
Rank: EX
Anti-Noble Phantasm Noble Phantasm
Due to the fact that this Noble Phantasm exists, his legend was slowly forgotten over time as he used this weapon to assassinate people with the power to change history, stopping legends from being created. As the Noble Phantasm of this hero is the antithesis to a Heroic Spirit's Noble Phantasm, this Noble Phantasm cancels other target's Noble Phantasms, as long it comes into contact with the weapon or magic source. The side effect of possessing this weapons is that the Heroic Spirit forgets about his name and legend as well, a being erased from legends and myths.

Perfect for a nobody
