Why was Sasuke so stupid as to drop his henge, and why couldn't he tell that Ino was conscious?

I assume it's like a rule of cool. Like dropping the henge after a fight while walking away is the Naruto version of an action hero walking away from an explosion.

Ino is too insignificant for him to realize she was even alive. Weak and konked out may as well be the same thing for some of the pre-timeskip characters compared to their post-timeskip counterparts.

That's stupid. Being stronger doesn't make you more noticeable when someone doesn't have cool aura-sensing powers and can't see you.

Does being conscious or unconscious change your magical colors?

It should, but only if you are are a sensor or are looking at the person with the Sharingan.

CED!Naruto world, so yes, Ino has the Sharingan, probably raped Sasuke to death while pulling them out.... sadistic bastards.

No, it's a PARODY of CED! Naruto world. Not the actual one. I really want to see someone die already close to this Naruto, just to see the shit go down.

Two days later Sasuke passed through the gates of Konoha and began wandering through the streets, fighting off the feeling of nostalgia that welled up within him.

It had been around 5 years since heÆd last been in Konoha; Sasuke couldnÆt actually remember exactly how long it was beyond that vague timeframe. Months of isolation, living in caves, OrochimaruÆs abandoned bases or in the forests, as well as an erratic sleep cycle had thrown off his once impeccable internal clock.

After five minutes of aimless wandering, Sasuke decided that heÆd lost himself in his memories for long enough. First thing first, Sasuke needed a more permanent disguise for himself. The simple Henge he was using now would be woefully inadequate in the long term; there were too many things that could go wrong and compromise his identity, such as a Hyuuga spotting him with their Byakugan, or even a simple sensor ninja passing by.

Running his fingers through his hair, Sasuke made up his mind. It was time to get some hair dye and hair gel. Colour contacts could come later. The main problem would be hiding his face; his pre-pubescent self would be wandering around, and anyone with a lick of common sense would notice the uncanny resemblance immediately. Afterwards there would be a host of awkward questions that Sasuke had no idea how to answer.

Turning left at the next corner, where Sasuke vaguely recalled a convenience store being located, Sasuke caught a brief glimpse of a brown haired little boy about to barrel into him. Reacting on instinct, Sasuke jumped up and over the boy, who didnÆt even stop to apologize. Instead, the child merely glanced back to shout ôSorry!ö before continuing on, his blue scarf trailing behind him.

The boy caused a small spark to flair in the UchihaÆs mind; Sarutobi Konohamaru was his name. He was the little brat that used to play and later train under Naruto, if the fact that Sasuke had seen the boy use the Rasengan was any indication.

Seeing the child, Sasuke found his eyes involuntarily following the end of the scarf as it flapped up and down with the SarutobiÆs movements.

And now Sasuke knew how to hide without drawing too much attention to himself.

-----------------

Kyouryoku Uzumaki Naruto ran over the rooftops of Konoha at break neck pace, allowing his grey-beige cloak to trail behind him. Underneath his cloak, the young Jinchuuriki was wearing black ninja sandals, a pair of black ANBU pants, a black sleeveless shirt with golden trimming, several black wristbands on each arm and black fingerless gloves, with steel plates on the back, the Konoha symbol engraved on them.

After that brief dash, the blonde haired blue eyed boy scaled the Hokage Monument and took a seat on top of the Shodai HokageÆs head. From his position, the only part of Konoha that wasnÆt visible was the area obscured by the YondaimeÆs face.

Behind him, Naruto could sense 8 ninjaÆs, most likely Root agents. However, he had no idea what their orders were; observation or outright assassination was NarutoÆs assumption. It would make sense, what with NarutoÆs seemingly rapid rise in power and intelligence. The old war hawk most likely wanted to steal his training methods or get rid of him before he became too much trouble.

Despite their presence, Naruto took a deep relaxing breath and let his eyes drift closed, entering his mindscape with practice ease.

NarutoÆs mind could only be described as lavish. The walls were gold, silver and above all bright. Bookcases lined the walls of the long passageways, while the central room, which once housed a mighty cage, was now filled with furniture and training instruments.

And on the long luxurious couch lay a beautiful red haired woman.

The woman stood gracefully as she rose to meet him, her deep red kimono opening slightly to expose her deep cleavage. Fit snugly around her neck was a black collar with a single chain link attached.

ôWhat would you like to learn today?ö she asked, her red eyes showing her obvious amusement.

-------------

For Naruto, hours had been spent training in his mind scape, while in the outside world it had only been a second.

Within that second, the 8 Root had begun to move.

Appearing in a semicircle behind him without a noise, the Root agents stood silent and anonymous behind their masks.

That was until one moved forward, but before he even spoke a word Naruto had already drawn a kunai and begun his attack. Slashing the Root who had moved forward across the throat, the other agents were startled enough that they hesitated for a single moment.

In that moment, NarutoÆs hands flashed through seals at a blur.

ôIce Release: Certain Kill Ice Spears!ö Naruto intoned, creating a dozen spikes of ice that thrust forward and pierced the flesh of the Root agents, killing another 6 of them.

Only one agent survived the surprising display of a Bloodline Limit, and even she hadnÆt escaped unscathed. Her side bleeding, the twenty year old woman stumbled back. With her blade held shakily before her in a defensive stance, the injured Root could only deflect two strikes of NarutoÆs kunai before suddenly the black metal slashed right through the womanÆs blade before the blond genin stabbed it through her heart.

ôDie, DanzoÆs dog!ö Naruto hissed as he watched the life drain from her eyes.

Wiping their dirty blood off his hands, Naruto burnt their bodies with a Fire Jutsu before smiling to himself at a job well done.

And so ends chapter one.

No, not really.

I'm kinda surprised that the question of Sasuke dropping the henge needed to be asked.

He dropped it cause he thought that all of Team 10 was unconcious, and he didn't need it anymore

Turns out he was wrong.

Sasuke's skilled, not God. Man's a little bit over confident, and made a mistake because of it.

He attacked Ino. He hit Ino. He thought Ino was knocked out. He looked and saw Ino sprawled on the ground = Ino is unconcious.

Turns out not so much.

After renting a room in one of Konoha's smaller hotels, Sasuke began the annoying process of dyeing his hair.

While his body went through the motions, the temporaly misplaced Uchiha's mind was churning. 'From what I've gathered so far, I've somehow managed to travel approximately 5 years into the past. What's more, there are discrepancies between what happened in my timeline, and the events of this time line. The two most obvious so far is the emergence of a new clan, and Naruto's competence. Do they have a connection? If so, which is the cause and which is the effect? Or are they both the result of an unseen change I have yet to grasp?'

Growing frustrated at the growing number of questions, Sasuke took a deep breath in order relax, allowing the tension to visibly drain from his shoulders. 'I still need to gather more information, so I can accurately gauge the differences between my memories and this reality,' Sasuke thought as the hair dye had finished its job. After that, he carefully placed a pair of blue coloured contacts onto his eyes.

'There are five main ways I could gather the intel I need,' Sasuke continued to plan as he dressed himself in his new second hand outfit. 'By visiting the library, the Hokage's office, the Academy, or by watching either my younger self, or by observing Naruto. Depending on how recent the divergence began, the library could be a good source of information, but its a gamble; if the divergence point is recent, it's unlikely that the library will have the most up to date information I need. Spying on myself or Naruto is dangerous; as much as I hate to admit it, even at this age we both had great instincts. A prolonged observation period would be risky. The Hokage's office will have all the information I need, but it will also be the most highly guarded. The Academy will have less information than the library, but will have more specialized intelligence on the students.'

'Seems that the Academy is a good place to start,' Sasuke finally decided as he wrapped the scarf around his neck.

After finally finishing getting dressed, the Uchiha appraised himself in the mirror.

His hair was green and his eyes were blue; both were attention grabbing, but not excessively so. His clothing was simple and slightly worn, but still very much usable, and his new red scarf was wrapped loosely around his neck and the lower half of his face.

Hopefully, the bright hair and eye colours would distract people from looking at his face too closely, which was the real problem. Without a way to conceal his resemblance to the Uchiha family, it would be all too obvious that he was related to them, somehow.

The anwser to that lay in the dark blue scarf; the tricky bit was wearing it high enough that it covered his face but low enough that it didn't arouse suspicion from patrolling ANBU. It was a delicate balance, but one he was confident he could maintain.

Nodding once in satifaction at his revised appearence, Sasuke set off.

-----------------

The trip to the Academy was quick and largely uneventful; the only hiccop being a furious Hyuuga Hinata striding down the street, her Byakugan active. Luck was on his side in that encounter, seeing as he was facing away from her; unless she concentrated on him, it was highly doubtful she would recognise his appearence from her point of view.

Making a note of the small discrepancy of that meek Hyuuga being openly angry, Sasuke soon arrived at the Academy. Once there, he didn't even bother to sneak in, instead choosing to simply walk through the doors.

'This place is exactly how I remember it,' Sasuke thought with distain as he observed the plain walls, the classrooms filled to the brim with brats and the occasional pencil pusher who walked past him in the halls; to those last he always remembered to at least nod his head in greeting. The majority didn't even look at him twice.

Coming to the records room door, Sasuke immediately tried opening it, only to find it locked. Sasuke briefly glanced down the corrider in both directions and then, finding no one, the Uchiha placed his right ear against the door. When he detected no noise from inside the room, he proceeded to pick the lock with a Lightning jutsu.

The records room was a small room tightly packed with filing cabinets. They contained the files of all 6 years worth of students, as well last years graduating class. Sasuke ignored it all as he moved to the only blank space on the far wall, hidden in the very corner of the room.

He knew for a fact that these files were at best incomplete, and more than likely inaccurate. It was common practice for Academy students to sneak in and attempt to doctor their report cards and test results. You were given extra credit for the attempt, and even more depending on how long it took the teachers to figure it out. And if you managed to fool anybody official with your forgery? There were rumours that it instantly gave you 100% in stealth and insurgency, one of the unofficial categories you were constantly tested on.

No, the real records were kept sealed inside the the only open space of the wall, a fact that Sasuke was one of very few genin to know, and presumably the only one who knew as an Academy student. And just to prove he knew, he'd snuck in, grabbed his own files and wrote "Sasuke was here, Uzumaki's a loser" on the front in big bold letters when he was about 11 years old. That was on a day that Naruto had been particularly annoying, bragging that he'd snuck in and changed the records, so he was sure to pass next time.

Releasing the seal with a pop, a medium sized scroll appeared in his hands. Inside the scroll was a list of names divided into sections by year, and then further divided by class.

It took only 30 seconds for Sasuke to find both his and Naruto's name, right next to one another. As an after thought, Sasuke also looked up Hinata. Next to each of their names was another seal, and after releasing them, three large brown folders appeared.

He grabbed Hinata's first, skipped to her personality profile and quickly skimmed through it.

Timid, shy, quick to make peace, bla bla bla; there was nothing different there. That meant that either Hinata was having a bad day, or something had happened to change her attitude after graduation.

Resealing Hinata's file, Sasuke moved onto his and Naruto's; he was not entirely surprised to discover that his file was deviod of the graffitti he himself had placed. That meant the point of divergence was before graduation.

He read his own file first; great ability, bla bla bla, agressive and anti-social bla bla bla, possibility of mental health problems bla bla bla, overly prideful, arrogant and cruel.

Huh?

'I don't remember being overly cruel in the Academy,' Sasuke thought in surprise, trying to remember his younger days. 'In fact, I was down right civil and ignored everyone equally. Except Naruto, but no one can ignore Naruto.'

Apart from that and a small foot note that he could be a bit of a show off, Sasuke didn't find anything that he wouldn't have expected to see in his own Academy file.

Finally, Sasuke turned to the final folder he'd removed; the picture stapled to the cornor was of the same idiot in orange that Sasuke knew, with the same idiotic smile and the same idiotic expression, but even so, there was something off about it. Sasuke couldn't place what it was, but it gave him the shivers.

The infromation inside the file was nothing new either. Poor results, low intelligence, hyper active, cocky and aggressive, feircely competitive.

It was only when Sasuke turned to the last couple of pages, those detailing the graduation exam, that new information started rolling in.

It detailed his incredible marks, where he went above and beyond the testing requirements in order to achieve a high grade, and some of the non-Academy jutsu he showed in them.

After that, on the last page, it had a note from an anonymous class observor.

It read:

Naruto displayed a huge change in attitude, skills and fasion today. Instead of the gaudy orange jumpsuit, he instead chose a much more sensable black ensemble, which showed off his well defined muscles and complimented his hair and eyes exquisitly. He stopped acting like a goofy idiot, and began to act more like a proper shinobi; he was observed giving his peers a lecture on the neccesity of killing, stopped paying romantic attention to that waste of talent Haruno Sakura, and engaged in a fight with his comrade Uchiha Sasuke, instigated by the Uchiha after Naruto called his family scum.

In the tests, Naruto went above and beyond the requirements, and took great delight rubbing it in his detractors faces; it was a great example of nonverbally threatening his enemies in the class and telling them that he is not one to be trifaled with.

Its my opinion that, unlike Uchiha and Haruno, Uzumaki will go far in the shinobi world.

Sasuke blinked as he finished reading the note. "What a biased load of shit," Sasuke muttered out loud.

That got me.
I was going to have Sasuke point out that its not a jumpsuit, its a pair of orange pants and a jacket, and he doesn't trust the opinion of a classroom observer who can't tell the difference between the two.

But I couldn't fit it into the narrative, so...

You know a teacher is biased when they write about their twelve year old student's muscles in an official report.

Less than an hour later, Sasuke had moved on to the next likely source of information. The Hokage's office was still too dangerous, and the exact location of both his past self and Naruto would be difficult to determine at this time of day. That left the library.

Quickly zooming up the Hokage mountain and slipping into the library that hugged its walls, Sasuke waltzed past the teenage girl who manned the counter unmolested. Once there, he grabbed a bunch of history books focusing on Konoha and settled himself in for the long and boring task of cross checking historic events between these books and his own memories.

The aged Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, barely held back a groan as the Hyuuga clan head thundered some nonsense about Uzumaki Naruto murdering some ANBU stationed to guard the top of the mountain.

Proposterous.

Naruto may have been a little rough around the edges, but he was a loyal shinobi who had Konoha's best interest at heart. If, and it was a big if, Naruto had attacked those shinobi, he must have had a very good reason for it.

Slowly, the Hokage's eyes swept over the council members in attendance. Including himself, there were 15 members; 10 were ninja clan heads, while the other 5 were influential civilains. All of the civilians appeared horrified at Hyuuga Hiashi's testimony, while the other ninja were a mixed bag.

Danzo, Koharu and Homura, his rival and former teamates had almost blank expressions on their faces. However, years of familiarity allowed Hiruzen to pick apart those most subtle hints that showed on their faces. His two team mates were horrifed and furious. Danzo was harder to read. Curiously, a mixture of annoyance, expectation and possibility reflief kept flickering on and off in his expression.

The other ninja, Aburame Shibi, Yakama Inochi, Nara Shikaku, Akimichi Choza and Inuzuka Tsume all looked mildly disbelieving. They thought very little of Hiashi's claims.

Still, those claims would have to be dealt with.

ôHyuuga,ö Hiruzen interrupted the man mid-rant. ôNaruto-kun will be questioned on this matter when he arrives. In the mean time, we need to discuss the girl Naruto-kun brought back from his mission to Wave.ö

Hyuuga Hiashi barely repressed a glare directed at the Hokage, before bowing his head and taking his seat.

ôI beleive her name was Haku?ö Tsume asked.

ôCorrect. The Hyoton user Haku. She has made a formal request to be adopted into the Kyo Clan, and to join our ninja ranks.ö Sarutobi told them with a grin.

ôI don't see a problem with either of those,ö Shikaku's gruff voice broke in first.

ôNeither do I.ö Shibi agreed.

ôI'm not so sure its a good idea,ö Choza surprisingly disagreed with his close friend. ôEven if we were to ignore Hyuuga-dono's claim that Uzumaki-san has assulted ninja, his conduct during the mission worries me. Kakashi notes that Uzumaki-san often acted alone and without informing his team of his location or activities, was insurbordonate and , most concerning of all, needlessly ruthless. I'm not sure placing a girl with such low self esteem and obvious attachment issues with a lone wolf like Uzumaki-san is such a good idea.ö

ôAnd I'm not exactly comfortable with the fact that we'll be placing a young teenage girl in the sole care of a boy in puberty.ö Inochi added. ôWhen you add in her psychological issues, I get the feeling it'll be disaster in the making.ö

ôI concur,ö Hiashi spoke. ôFor a girl that needs as much social interaction as Haku does, close association with Uzumaki might very well do more harm than good. If she is seen as too close to our Jinchuuriki, the people may very well reject her.ö

ôSilence!ö Hiruzen hissed. ôI will not let you separate Haku from Naruto-kun. The two have a special understanding of one another, and are even beginning to date one another. It will be good for Naruto-kun to finally have someone who truly cares for him. As for the matter of Haku joining the ranks...ö

ôShe will need to be tested,ö Shibi put in. ôAnd independant of her results, I think it would be best if she spent at least some time learning in the Academy.ö

ôYou want to put what may be a chuunin class ninja in the Academy?ö Tsume asked.

ôYes. Even if her physical aptitude, skills and intelligence all pass, I believe it would be wise for her to be instructed in Konoha history and methodology.ö

ôI agree.ö Shikaku said, followed by Inochi, Choza, Homura and Koharu.

ôI'm not so sure, but at the very least I don't see anything wrong with a little history lesson.ö Tsume told them.

ôI have no objections,ö Danzo spoke for the first time since the meeting began.

Hiruzen frowned at Danzo's words, but nevertheless nodded his head. ôI see you're point. Haku will be evaluted by Aoba and will recieve remedial Academy lessons. Once the results of the evaluation come in, we will continue this disscussion. And now the next order of business û Uchiha Itachi was spotted less than a day's travel from Konoha.ö

I'm so, so sorry Sarutobi.
