Some more thoughts on Negima, and beware spoilers ahead!

All right considering the most recent chapters of the Manga IÆd argue that Negi Sprinfield would make an excellent advisor to Usagi once sheÆs elected Queen. IÆm fairly sure he has the power and skill to keep up with the Senshi, and his intelligence plus his ability to plan ahead would make him a valuable asset. Even better heÆs currently developing some diplomatic abilities which the CT will need in itÆs early days and even without the Queens aid heÆs not dying of old age anytime soon.

Now letÆs look at his allies. With Negi comes a powerful Ninja Werewolf, plus a synthetic human packing massive earth elemental abilities. Then thereÆs the leaders of the magical world (which is on Mars, long story) who owe Negi BIG! (one of whom would love the idea of Sailor Moon ruling the word as an eternal Queen with Negi as her advisor). Then thereÆs people like Jack Rakan. Finally we have the girls heÆs pactoÆd with providing them powerful magical artifacts (Tomes that read minds, Orbital Defense lasers etc) and the pacto ability itself. Since the Pacto is based off the relative power and/or emotional connection of the two people involved, I shudder to think what an avatar of a planet that likes Negi (as a darling little brother which IÆm fairly sure is how the Senshi would see him) would acquire.

So yeah, something to consider.

Also fairly scary is the idea of the Senshi being Magistra.

Hmm, thinking about it, is Hotaru/Chbi-Usa canon or fanon? Cause, depending on when they meet, Negi will either be not much younger than her, or not much older. The time compressing resort he trains in will have an effect on that, as well.

A little idea I got this morning after reading act 43-44 of the rerelease and from Sailor V fanboyism, that fermented over the course of class hours today...

ôFinding true love...you will be hopeless at it, for all of eternity.ö

As a third party to the conversation, he was unable to see her expression, as she was facing the speaker. However, he knew exactly what would have crossed her face, a prediction born out of sixteen months of living with her. Green eyes glaring at the speaker, he let out a growl as the blonde man spoke again, the guttural reflex lost to the howling winds.

ôWhatÆs wrong? Now you donÆt have to decide over which destiny to choose. Now you donÆt need to decide whether to fight or to find love. Your destiny is to always be fighting, never to find love!ö

The speaker coughed for a second, let out a hysterical giggle, then parted with some final words. ôFrom now on, your true battle begins!ö Then the speaker knew no more, as his form dissolved off into the mid-day sky, carried off by a snapping gust.

He swore in his head. That man, one who had unlocked his memories from the Silver Millenium, had known the words that would injure his ward the most, and he had spoken them with great eloquence. He had seen how she went through love interests, sometimes several in a single day. He often made fun of her over it, but to believe true love was impossible, for one who was said to be the avatar of Love...

In the space of less than a second, his mind warred. A picture of a black-haired lady, long hair done up with long odango style twin-tails, flashed through his mind. Then a picture of a young blonde, long hair flowing through the light wind highlighted by a red ribbon, came to the forefront. She was laughing. Even though he had constantly reprimanded her for her irresponsibility, the bubbly joy she was exuding was infectious. He knew what he had to do then.

She looked over the precipice of what had once been a stone bridge, before he had destroyed most of it, then delivered a devastating speech. He had caused her memories of her past life to come back, then spoke of his own past life. They had briefly done battle. He stood no chance against her physically. In a brief moment of weakness, she had tried to rescue him, only for him to make his last prediction. That she would...that she would never find...

ôAce was wrong, you know.ö

Strong arms had embraced her, pulling her away from the edge onto more stable footing. She spun around, an awkward motion, to come face-to-face with a young man.

The instinctive lust that always came at seeing a pretty boy overwhelmed the moment, as she took in the facial features of the one who had just spoken. A sharp, chiselled face was framed by long, flowing white hair. And yet...the crescent moon mark on his forehead...the impossibly bright green eyes, identical in color to his irises, and the sudden disappearance of that same feline who had just been here...

ôA-Artemis?ö

He nodded, before he allowed a tiny smile to grace his lips. ôWeÆve been together sixteen months. Lack of power, lack of resolve prevented me from taking this form, my...my true form.ö

He gripped her shoulders with large, human hands. They were so much more reassuring than his white paws. ôAce...He was wrong. He said you would never find true love, but thatÆs a lie. It might be awkward, saying this now, never mind our history, but I-I...ö He swallowed, then steeled himself, ôI love you, Mina.ö He said, softly saying the nickname he had long called her by.

There was silence for a few seconds. Then she slipped his grip and jumped at his chest, causing him to stumble back before he caught his balance, before Minako started to cry, turning the waterworks up, her head up against his chest.

Artemis stood there petrified for a few seconds. It had been so long since he had taken this form, that it actually felt wrong. Sighing, he brushed the feeling of wrongness aside. He had transformed for the sake of his ward. He would not let her down now. Wrapping one arm around her small frame, he brought up his other hand, and startled to nuzzle her hair as he brought the two of them together down into a sitting position.

He wouldnÆt know it, but this simple action had changed things drastically.

Good? Bad? Apathetic to it?

Seeing Artemis transform into a human form and stop an attack from an Amazoness gave me a bit of a pairing idea, coupled with something about Minako spying on Moon, Mercury and Mars, and deciding she didn't want to work with them because they were 'softer' than her who was battle-hardened by two years of vigilant fighting.

In the scene, Artemis makes a split-second decision. He doesn't know how Minako's mental state will be affected by what Ace just said. If Minako takes Ace's words the 'right' way and throws herself into her mission to find and protect the Princess, everything will be alright. This is basically what happens in canon. But Artemis doesn't know that. There is the chance that Ace's fortune will disturb the boy-crazy Minako. So Artemis does what he sees as the best option available to keep Minako sane and focused. Now that Minako knows Artemis can take a human form, she strong-arms him into helping him with her fights (how strong he might be I don't really know, but he WAS strong enough at the very least to throw a rock off his body with one arm that was several times his size).

Where might I go with this if I continued? Minako goes to a school in Shiba district in Codename Sailor V and for the first two years of Sailor Moon, so she's really close by. I could accept that Danburite's death causes the Dark Kingdom to go into dormancy for a half a year in Japan while devoting their resources to searching the rest of the globe for the Silver Crystal (Beryl mentions that Japan is the only country they had not completely searched at one point in the manga), but if Sailor V is still around when they open up operations in Japan again, why not be trying to pressure her? Or perhaps they actually did, but she fended off all the youma that were sent after her.

In this alternate timeline, Minako gets Artemis as an ally in an actual fight, and the two harry away at all Dark Kingdom presence, until one of the four Generals tires of the two and decides to attack them personally, only to himself be killed in turn. I'm thinking it would be Zoicite first, then maybe Nephrite would also attack later on, only to also be defeated. Moon, Mercury and Mars would follow the normal schedule with Jadeite, only to get hammered by the opposition once Kunzite comes onto the scene, barely escaping a couple of fights with Kunzite.

Kunzite's death would be a couple of months ahead of schedule, and with the Shitennou being offed earlier, perhaps Beryl has to come out and make random attacks in Tokyo herself to gather energy. Jupiter would also not be awakened, at least not until much later into the timeline, because Kunzite would do something entirely different to gather energy than Nephrite did with the possessed bridal gown.

The Senshi would only finally unite for a battle in the final showdown, and they might drift apart again after that. Diana would never be born since Luna and Artemis wouldn't be getting together in the future. and Luna gets seduced by Usagi

It does seem like a bit of a natural pairing. The two fight and chirp at each other for the early parts of Sailor V before growing comfortable later on, and their relationship is strong enough that Venus gets her Sailor Crystal from Artemis while everyone else gets one either from a dream-state or from Hotaru. He would never be able to sleep on her bed again as a cat though methinks :lol:

I've shipped them since I read the Venus Submision from Black Dog. Sure most of his recent ones aren't ...well received but his non-squicky works are pretty good.

Probably because Stars comes so quickly after Dreams. The anime version was also pretty famously bad.

I have rarely seen Stars in crossovers excluding fics that said it took Place, post!Stars. Somehow ignoring Usagi is a lightspeeder in both verses so other heroes can look cool.

Black Moon fics appear for that Dystopia crap and make the senshi villains instead of the decent people they are.

Infinity because they want their character to pair up with Hotaru.

Amazons, Starlights and Princess Kakyuu get shafted in crossovers.

I said permanently human female youma, youma being what they truly are, permanently human female being what they were turned into

Unless you're saying Usagi would just make it so that they're not 'permanently' human female, but rather ARE human female, and no silly unlocking kettle will let them change into a youma again

Besides this would be shortly after the start of SM so it would take a while to do that. Until then Usagi could continue to earn her bitches.

Mangaverse, they liked each other before the destiny bomb as Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Moon so I count him as a bitch. She earned him to me.
