This could be fun to watch, considering that I enjoyed the old show as a kid.

I remember the old show also -- both from when it was originally airing and from re-runs decades later.

i'm just praying they don't mess it up too bad like they do when they try to update most things. haveing just read the news release for it, now i'm really scared for it.

most likely? Considerably. Though that depends who runs and host it.

Not bad...Animesque, as I figured. Guess this will explain the past of the Thundercats before the original series?

Looks like it expands on the fall of there homeworld, where the mutants originally slaves in the original as well.

Works for me so far, though you can already hear the wailing and gnashin of teeth from the purist crowd.

Do you know what this means? More furry porn.

Seriously, they upped the furry factor on this.

Looks interesting. Recognized all the characters except the little midget guy at 1:04. Any ideas?

Wait, so Lion-O's dad went from nice blind guy to antagonist before the fall? This will be interesting to see.

Two different guys: the old blind one was Jaga, who's the white bearded chap that you see giving a manly grip to the shoulder. The big guy with the redbeard probably is Lion-O's father but I don't recall him getting much development in the original series.

I am somewhat dissapointed by the lack of Mumm-Ra, but if it's set before he comes onto the scene I suppose that's understandable.

Lion-O's dad in the original series was shown to have been a nice old blind guy when Lion-O was transported to the past in one episode.

That's not Lion-O's dad. That -is- Lion-o.

To me it looks like a sequel to the comic books, where they establish New Thundera and so forth. The trailer shows a hint of Mummra at the 14 second mark, and we see an older Tigra/Cheetarah in the trailer too.

So the revival is about Lion-o's kid. Also, the reason it looks so anime-esque is because the revival is being handled by a japanese studio.

And blind guy wasn't even remotely Jaga. Jaga was the dead obi-wan guy.

Blind guy was Lynx-o, one of the new thundercats that showed up mid-series. Or as was mentioned, Claudis (Lion-o's dad), was also blind too but he didn't really matter.

Edit: Also...sort of related (not really?): <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtTZu9OlypU' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtTZu9OlypU</a>

There's another trailer up. <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjuCkRA1qtI' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Link</a>

Also, Claudus is voiced by the guy who did Lion-O in the old cartoon.

Next generation fictions never work.
Star Trek TNG & Deep Space 9 would argue differently.

Honestly, maybe its just an older sense of tastes, but 80's Cheetara is a hundred times hotter than this new design.

I mean, compare that above with this: <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na8ThDftsKk' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na8ThDftsKk</a>
