Tower of God

Oh yeah, Baam is pretty much going nuclear here.
I wonder if Koon and the others are going to be stupid enough to try and get in his way? The smart thing to do (and Koon is supposed to be smart) would be to just sound the retreat and let Baam decimate Rachel's team.

Unlikely. The Thorn is going out of control, so Koon is just not going to stand idly by.

Baam seems to be in control of his actions at the moment. The Thorn might be amplifying his rage, but it doesn't appear as though he's going berserk. If Koon tries to get in Baam's way right now, then he richly deserves the beating he'll likely get for his efforts.

Wow. That was one heck of an update. Can't remember Bam being this angry!

That last chapter

Holy shit Baam

So, am I the only one who found the sequel to last week's panel of epic somewhat underwhelming? Like, how is this rage of Baam's any different from the other times he's gotten mad and beaten people up? I wish he'd have opened this chapter by deliberately finishing Daniel off. Would have done a lot to show a distinct change in his attitude.

I just don't understand what Baam sees in Rachel. Yeah, I know its the defining point of his character, but right now, its really grating. Is his personality really that broken? To the point of becoming the One True Yandere?

And YES. The beat-up isn't as curb-stomping as I was hoping it would be.

... I just realized. You know who the biggest idiot is? Rachel - if she were to order Baam to do anything, he might just do it! Wouldn't surprise me if she tries the tactic at some point.

Rachel was literally the only contact he had for several years, so it's not surprising he's fixated on her.

And haircut. And fighting style, at least to a general idea. I kinda wish he'd back off from the whole martial arts thing a bit and stick more to traditional Wave Controller fighting. Baam's substandard physical specs are his main weakness, and it doesn't make sense for him to choose to fight in a manner that exposes that weakness. It's good for him to be capable of holding his own in a hand-to-hand scrum to deal with situations like what happened to him during the One Shot game, but his forte is shinsoo manipulation.

What, you thought something was going to be accomplished after all this slow buildup? Nope, just a reinforcement of status quo with Baam getting to look like a retard again.

That whole first half of the strip was just retreading of the last one.

We did get a bit of a hint that Rachel isn't as much a psychotic bitch as we thought before but I get the feeling this will be a running gag.

And one that nobody except the author finds to be funny. Looking around at the reactions to this chapter in various places, people are not amused.

The thing about her pushing him AGAIN .. is too much. For his own sake, I hope he gets a clue. Otherwise, we'll need Koon to fix things again ...

So the latest villain got introduced, and it's another super-bishonen guy who took a few chapters to be revealed as a guy.

At this point SIU will introduce another super-feminine character in the future, everyone will expect it to be a guy because SIU, except this time it'll actually be a girl and that would actually be trolling

So I caught up on the last three months of comics. Sometimes, I swear this thing moves slower than One Piece, and that's saying something!

We got a little bit of Zahard and the 10 Familes Mythology, which is always tantalising. Yuri finally sees Baam again and knows he's alive.

The new evil guy Hoaquin is revealed to have four siblings, and they apparently once fused all together into one form as an ultimate swordmaster.

Rachel continues to be all mysterious and stuff. Heck, she even gets on Hoaquin's good side temporarily. However, Koon gets a chance to finally show her up in a game.

So I haven't read the last batch of issues, I like to let them build up before reading again.

However, something I noted a while ago is that of the Ten Family Heads, only 9 have ever been revealed (Zahard doesn't count as one of the 10). I've assumed for a while that the reason the 10th one has never been revealed is because s/he was killed by FUG, and that's why FUG is the most well-known dangerous organisation in the Tower because it actually killed a Family Head - similar to how there are hundreds of terrorist groups but only al-Qaeda is really well known because of what they actually pulled off.

Finally caught up on like 4 months of chapters.

Holy shit what a ride! Definitely a lot faster-paced arc than the previous one imo

Episode 277/Season 2 196

Baam and Yuri FINALLY reunite for the first time in Season 2 (well they did last chapter but they actually get to talk this chapter)

Baam gets to be a normal conversationalist again when talking with her, I like this Baam

Ha Ryun and Evaan (both are Guides) talk

Rachel continues to be mysterious as fuck even though she's still supposedly a weakling

Yuri decides she's going on a crusade against FUG

197.

Baam and co decide to go to Floor 43, the floor where Enryu killed one of the Tower's Guardians. Yuri says it's dangerous and will only allow anyone she thinks is strong enough to go there, and she takes the time to evaluate everyone left on the train in a battle against a train guardian.

At the end, we get some shots of Team Koon Ran and Team Androssi Zahard

Team Baam, Team Androssi and Team Khun Ran all end up at Floor 39, where there's a 'Name Hunt' test going on. To pass, they have to beat a 'Kaiser' who fights test-takers and takes the loser's name and everything the loser owned. The Kaiser is particularly interested in Ran. We also get bunny-girl (Xiaxia) again, though of course we saw a little of her last chapter too.

Baam finally remembers the Rice pot actually exists.

Sachi Faker, the red-headed guy who joined Team Bam on the train as one of the survivors from Hoaquin's original rampage, says Kaise ris one of the top three D-Rank regulars (anyone who makes it to the 30th floor is considered at least a D-Rank). With Sachi, Boro, Aka Williams and Daniel we already had a sort of estimate of how screwy Tower ages can be once you start using Shinsoo since they're all at least 600 years old and shown to have barely aged in that time, and the Kaiser is also just a Regular but is at least 1000+ years old.

Koon Ran takes out his Lightning Pill, and shows off a new attack. The guy he fights is one of 10 'Name-Hunters' named Hesse, who is a dirt monster of sorts and thus takes a crapload of energy attacks before finally being blown up. It's revealed that the Name-Hunters hail from a tradition dating back to when Zahard and the 10 Family Heads were on that floor and partook in a fighting game with the natives at the time for a name-stealing game of a similar nature.

Xiaxia gets comedy moments.
