Take a breath, remind yourself that Ranma is a slapstick comedy and then try again.

I am fully aware of the fact.

I am also fully aware of the fact that the series is called "Ranma ?", not "Tendos and Nothing".

If you're going to ask a question that completely kills the entire series by taking out its main character, why is presenting a possibility that is what would most likely happen in real life suddenly taboo?

EDIT: The slapstick (provided by Ranma and those he brings along with him) is the only thing keeping the series from becoming a depressing train-wreck of epic proportions. That very same aim for slapstick is what is supposed to make the sexual assaults, emotional abuse, and all the other stuff acceptable. Take away Ranma and you take away the slapstick. Hence, you have my observation of what would happen.

Huh, no. You remove Ranma and what's left is still an universe that runs on slapstick. Nerima is still a district full of zany martial artist and curio shops at every other corner, massive amount of drama would still happen without having any lasting bad consequences, because that's how the universe works. You're talking about people dying when even Gosunguki can survive explosion right in his face and all the ridiculously dangerous stuff the principal inflicted on his students never left a single one of them injured.

Ranma is the center of the story, but he's hardly the center of his universe. A more likely development would be for Ryuu Kumon to appear at the door of the Tendo dojo the day Ranma's supposed to and for him to get dragged into the engagement mess.

Slapstick or not, the student being shaved bald is still going to happen, because it's FUNNY. B)

So does most of the train-wreck, there is still such a thing as DARK comedy. And most stuff would qualifies.

Hey, Akane might still find her mother's recipe book, and instead burn the house down trying to cook? It'd be hilarious. :p

The slapstick would still happen. Ranma just happens to be involved in a lot of it, but I seriously doubt if the situation with the "hentai hord" would go to rape. This isn't a hentai manga as far as I'm concerned. (despite the numerous topless scenes).

If any really wants to go dark - lets just assume that Ranma went bezerrk during the Neko-ken training, killed Genma and afterwards died himself due to starvation (or any reason). Afterwards, Nodoka passes away never knowing about her son.

Brr... reading that - its a bit too dark for me! :unsure!:

Edit: Mis-spelled Nodoka

Nodoka, not Nodoko. Why do so many people make that mistake?
Sorry! I didn't get enough sleep last night and it must have got my typing fingers crossed. :(
