11th.

Because sane is boring.
The 12th is also insane.
But in the 11th, your skill can prevent you from dying horribly. In the 12th, you die horribly by random chance.
Skill isn't what keeps you alive in the 11th. It's power that keeps you alive. Power, instinct, and the love of fighting.

Along with the generous healers of the 4th.

In the 12th, you die by either Random Chance, because you were stupid, or because you bugged your Captain when he was in a Bad Mood (which goes along with the second reason).

Actually if you have too much power, Kenpachi gets interested, and then you're boned. What keeps you alive is not attracting too much attention to yourself.

If Kenpachi gets interested you're doing something right. And he seems like the type you could sort-of reason with. At the very least you should be able to convince him not to intentionally finish you off.

Kenpachi never intentionally finishes you off...because he wants to beat the shit out of you later, when you are stronger.

If he's interested in you he'll fight. Probably not full power, but the guy's the energizer bunny. He'll keep going. And going. Every second becomes a fear for your life, which is only marginally better than Mayuri, who'll make you wish for death till he's through with you. And he might bring you back just for the lulz of messing with you again. Laying low's the best way to go.

At least with Kenpachi he'll stop if your down and out for count. Mayuri might take it as a consent for his latest experiment...

Stop when you're down for the count sure, but as Ichigo can attest, once you're back up he may go after you again. :ph43r:

Though yeah, no matter how you'd slice it Mayuri would be worse in any regard.

If you have someting to do you're doing it wrong. Having nothing to do isn't exactly that hard.

Despite my complete lack of practical medical knowledge, Unohana. The first reason is that she appears to be the closest thing SS has to a sane, rational adult. The second is that I want to be as close as possible to the hospital when Mayuri unleashes the MechaYachiru.

Zaraki, hands down. If I'm going to be surrounded by the various loons that are the captains, I'm at least siding with the biggest one around.

Plus, he doesn't seem like one who'd do lots of paperwork. As such, he'd probably foist it off on me, giving me plenty of oppertunities for mischief.

"The first reason is that she appears to be the closest thing SS has to a sane, rational adult. "

Considering the system within which she has excelled, does that not make her MORE scary, not less?

Gotta stick with Kyoraku here. Nanao-chan would make sure work still gets done for the division and you have to appreciate a boss that can sit back and enjoy life.

I'd say Hitsugaya would be a close second since his division is like Shunsui's in reverse with him being serious and dedicated and Matsumoto enjoying life, but I'd spend all day staring at Rangiku's tits.

It does make her more scary... but do realise that this is Captain Mom, you do NOT mess with her Squad.

Shit, this is difficult...all of them have their upsides. I'm stuck between Retsu's for safety (and of course, Retsu and Isane), Kyoraku's for manliness (I wouldn't touch Nanao - I have too much survival instinct), Old Man's because we haven't actually seen a 1st squadsman and I'm curious (if their outfits are anything like Sasakibe's, I'm sold), and Gin's (who I still secretly believe will betray the shit out of Aizen or break off with some crazy scheme of his own) because he seems like a very interesting captain to have.

Since there aren't any squads beside the 4th, 2nd, Mayuri's and 11th with real designated duties, its hard to distinguish.

I'm semi-certain that he is, since I've got it in my head that he'd do so looking like he's going to attack...
Of course, Gin would just poof away all of a sudden, and then show up at random intervals to "WTF, Shinso'wned" Aizen during the final battle.
But on that note, I think it's because of Gin that his lieutenant Izuru ended up as the sad sack that he is now... so the 3rd Squad might not be the happiest of places with its' Captain around...

Izuru always looked like a sad sack of crap, even in the flashback to the academy where he, Renji, and Hinamori, were saved by Aizen, Gin, and Tousen.

That along with the way Izuru was fidgeting and where Renji hit people.
