Worm, the web serial novel

I think Eidolon subconsciously created the Endbringers, and that revelation is what screwed him over. A lot of people weren't sure on that, IIRC.

On the other, it seems probable. The nature of her power means that her mind functions differently from all the crazy multitasking, and she may have been described as a Thinker at one point.

Taylor is described as a Thinker 1, but that is before they know the full array of her Thinker powers.

But that is purely dealing with her bug multitasking.

I'm saying that her Shard has a minor bleed off that allows her to multitask people in a similar way.

Not including what she did in the last chapter, of course.

I believe the implication with Eidolon is that his power generates what it thinks he needs at the time. Dude was basically the most powerful guy in the world bar none and was at the top of his game at the time, and really had no one to cut loose against. So, as per what Zion said, he "Needed Worthy Opponents", so at some point it activated the same power Eden was supposedly supposed to use in the original timeline to create monsters to make the heroes fight against.

God dammit Knight, our mutual interests and tendency to frequently agree sucks all the fun out of it. How am I supposed to argue the point if you agree with me?

As an aside, have you started reading Pact yet?

I'm on 6.2 and my marathon read left me emotionally drained. Its good, but its not as good as Worm.

Its just been none stop pressure since the beginning. Its feels like, even when Blake wins, he loses.

I'd have to double check it, but I thought the original plan was to play humanity off each other to provide conflict so the Shards could evolve.

I don't remember monsters being part of it.

Heh.

I haven't yet, despite having it bookmarked since it first started. I planned to re-read Worm first since I've never gone through it more than once. Just a marathon from the start to the latest update followed by the bi-weekly updates until the end.

Perhaps I'll do Pact first after uni's done, then Worm. Can't say I'd want to be emotionally drained before my exam. :snigger:

I think Endbringers were supposed to be some kind of 'incentive', in case 'subtle' methods of conflict-inducement were not working fast enough. Entities are kinda on timetable after all.

Yeah, a 300 year one. With access to Pre-cog, emotional control and mind control.

Endbringers are certainly not necessary if the goal is human-human conflict.

In the "partner is alive" universe, the two played the various nations off of each other. In the series itself, Scion's goal wasn't conflict.

No, I suspect Tattletale is correct about the origin of the Endbringers.

Its the details that are sketchy.

On another note; who else thinks Taylor is a massive hypocrite?
