It was a few days later when Dojo managed to collect Master Fung and Master Guan somewhere far away from the potential prying ears of the young Dragon Warriors to voice his concerns.

"You mean to tell me that you suspect that Omi might be Wuya and Dashi's lost child?" Master Fung asked with a look of uncharacteristic shock after Dojo explained his suspicions. "How would that even be possible?"

"I don't know. I just know what Wuya said and the look in her eye. That wasn't the Heylin Witch or Jack Spicer's partner in crime looking at me. It was our Wuya," Dojo insisted.

"We do not have a Wuya. We have not for a very long time," Guan interjected with a stony expression.

"You know Dashi never believed that, Guan. That's half the reason he developed the puzzle box in the first place," Dojo retorted with a firm stare.

"Dashi allowed his emotions to rule him where she was concerned. He always did. Had he not, we could have stopped her long before she nearly conquered the world," Guan insisted.

"And you gave up on giving her a chance after Chase was corrupted," Dojo shot back with a glare.

"Chase was misled by Hannibal Bean. Wuya chose evil," Guan stubbornly replied.

"She chose to try to save her son. Dashi at least understood that," Dojo responded as he flew eye to stare Guan in the eye.

It was a long standing argument between the pair. Since Dashi's death Dojo had made it his duty to take up his closest friend's position in the argument over Wuya's condition. Guan thought she should have been destroyed years ago and had never agreed with the use of the puzzle box prison. Of course, the pair made it a point to never argue about it in front of the Apprentices, as it would raise questions neither was ready to answer.

It was Master Fung that finally put an end to the newest round in their debate as he stepped between them and said, "This arguing solves nothing. Omi is what is important, not rehashing old arguments."

"Fine. It is clear that time has driven Wuya mad. She sees the passing resemblance young Omi has with Dashi and has deluded herself into thinking he her long dead child. We should ignore her delusions for what they are," Guan postulated.

"Are you kidding me? If that were true why didn't she latch onto the kid from day one. No there's something else here. She was never the type to offer vulnerabilities like this. Something's up," Dojo insisted.

"We do know she was staying in Chase Young's citadel for a time before breaking ties with him. Could she have discovered something there? We know Chase collected records from the various Heylin sects over the centuries," Master Fung suggested.

"I suppose anything is possible. All I know was that I saw the first real honest joy and relief on her face since she left to find her son. If you had been there you would have seen it too, Guan, whether you'll admit it or not," Dojo insisted.

Guan remained stubbornly silent as Master Fung asked, "This does raise the question of how Omi could have been found as an infant to be raised by our order some 15 centuries after his abduction if he truly is Wuya's child?"

"He can't she's mad. She always was to a degree," Guan replied neutrally.

Dojo ignored the stoic monk as he responded, "It is a good question. I mean it's not like time travel happens everyday. Well not without something like the Shen Gong Wu, at least."

The three were equally silent for a moment before all of their eyes widened in unison. "The Sands of Time," they said as one.

"It's possible. I mean, the Heylin DID find it first, but Dashi defeated them and recovered it. I mean we always assume they hadn't had a chance to use it, but if they discovered it earlier than we thought..." Dojo suggested before trailing off in deep thought.

"But why send the babe through time? Would not killing him have been easier?" Guan asked.

"Feh. Like half the stuff the Heylin did ever made sense then. They were so scattered in their plans that I don't think any two members knew what each other was doing until Wuya brought them under her thumb<" Dojo shot back with a snort.

"Hmm, if his abductors left him here to hide him it is possible that they intended to retrieve him but were thwarted when Master Dashi collected the Sands of Time originally," Master Fung postulated.

"Or the Heylin here with him died somehow after arriving. There were plenty of nasty things out in the wilderness that would have been more than a match for single Heylin from that period. I mean you said yourself that it was a miracle that we found Omi before he was killed back then," Dojo replied.

Another moment of silence reined as the trio thought over the possibilities that had been raised before Guan asked what they all had be thinking about the most, "Should we tell him?"

"Oh yeah, that would go over well. "Hey kiddo, sorry to tell you think but we think our worst enemy might be your mom. Yeah she went crazy trying ot find you and that's what made her evil. Try not to let it get your down.' Yeah that would make him feel great," Dojo snorted.

"I agree. At this point discretion may be needed. I am more concerned with how Wuya might react to all of this than what Omi must know at this juncture," Fung added.

"She was willing to burn the world to ash to find him once. Who's to say what she will do to reunite with him now?" Guan asked grimly.

"Hold on. Don't you think we're judging things too fast here? I mean we don't even know how long Wuya might have suspected this. And so far all she did was save Omi's life. That's not a bad thing in my book," Dojo pointed out.

"You still cling to Dashi's false hope she could be saved. She chose this life, Dojo. There is no coming back from that," Guan responded.

"Says you. We've all see glimpses where things played out different. Who's to say what the future could bring?" Dojo inquired.

"Regardless, we must be watchful. Now that she has tipped her had, we have no idea how Wuya might react. We must make sure our young Dragons are ready for anything.

*****

Meanwhile in another part of the world...

"So, you want to team up again, huh? What's the catch?" Ashley, or rather Katnappe asked her guest.

"No catch, my dear. Just a lucrative partnership and a chance to ruffle a certain Dragon of Fire's feathers a bit," Wuya insisted with a sly grin.

"Ah. Her," Katnappe said with a scowl. "How do we get started?"

"We start where all intelligent women do, by making the men around us to distracted to notice what we are doing," Wuya suggested with a Cheshire Cat grin.

"Well, the big Texan kid was always fun to fluster," Katnappe mused with a grin of her own.

"Oh no. I think you'll find the Water Dragon a more stimulating target if you look deep enough," Wuya insisted.

"The bald kid? Why would he be the most interesting?" Katnappe asked.

"All in due time, child. All in due time," Wuya promised.

Probably nothing to do with Dhampyr's, but I felt like writing it...

Omi quickly made his way through the island jungle alone after being dropped off by Dojo. There had been a multiple Wu activation again, and Omi had been left on an uncharted in the pacific while the others were taken to their targets. He was after the HeartÆs Light Lantern, a Wu that showed the users happiest memories in a way Dojo compared to the æhome moviesÆ. Not a dangerous Wu on its own, but there was always a chance the forces of evil would find a use for such a thing in their dark plans, so Omi took it as serious as he always did.

ôHow are you feeling?ö

Omi skidded to a stop, slipping to the shadows as he heard the oddly familiar manÆs voice, one he couldnÆt quite place.

ôBloated, moody, hungry, my feet are swollen, I look like a beached whale and it seems to think my kidneys are punching bags,ö there was a pause, ôSo in other words, IÆm just freaking peachy.ö

That voice was a womanÆs, again familiar, but stuck on the end of tongue.

ôAw, cÆmon babe, think of the future,ö There were some sounds of movement, ôItÆs almost over, and weÆll have a little guy running around the house.ö

ôOr girl,ö another pause, ôDo you think weÆll be good parents? I mean, youÆre as lazy as a panda, and IÆll admit IÆm not exactly a mothering type.ö

ôYouÆll be great, weÆll be great, babe. Now letÆs see a smile,ö pause, ôThere you go. I love you, Wuya, and weÆll be the most kick-ass parents ever.ö

ôàI love you too.ö

OmiÆs eyes widened as the voices cut off and he realized he had stepped into the open. Wuya was looking down at him from a large branch, the lantern at her side. Omi gaped as he looked at her; he thought he actually saw tears held in her eyes. He was so surprised that he barely caught the lantern when it was thrown at him.

Once he righted himself, he saw the Heylin witch walking away, ôWAIT!ö Omi yelled, ôWhat trickery is this, Wuya, that you would surrender a shen-gong-wu with a fight?ö

Wuya stopped in mid-step, ôJust get that blasted thing away from me, Omi. You and your Dragons can have it,ö she growled, before turning to him, her expression blank, ôDid you know what that Wu does?ö

Omi took a more defensive stance, but answered, ôThe HeartÆs Light Lantern, it shows memories that make us happy.ö

ôWrong,ö she said, ôI didnÆt know what it was when I sensed it because Dashi probably made it after I was locked away. It doesnÆt show what make you happy; it shows memories of when you were happy.ö The bastard, heÆd left this thing just to gouge at old wounds, didnÆt he? Even from the grave, Dashi tormented her, as if her current situation wasnÆt bad enough. ôMemories of good things can still hurt kid, and that thing is just a torture device made by that bastard, Dashi.ö

Omi set down the lantern and pulled out the Shimo Staff, ôYou will not speak of Grand Master Dashi in such a way.ö

ôIÆll speak of him however I please!ö Wuya shouted. Omi prepared to strike, but was stunned by her next words, ôDid you know I was once an ally of his?ö

ôNo, Grand Master Dashi would never work with the Heylin!ö

ôWho said I was with the Heylin at the time,ö Omi was speechless at what she was saying, ôthatÆs right, big bad Wuya was once on your side, a good little Xiaolin dragon of fire. I fought evil with them, trained with them, fell in loveàö she trailed off, but Omi pieced together what heÆd heard.

ôYou had a child.ö

Wuya nodded, ôA child, a son that was stolen from me, a child the father couldnÆt be bothered to save, or leave the temple with me to find.ö Her hands ignited in anger, ôI searched for five long years before I returned to the temple, and he still chose duty over my son, over me, over his family! Your precious Xiaolin Dragons did nothing to help me, so went to people who could.ö

ôYou joined the Heylin,ö Omi finished, his hands at his sides. How could they have been told or warned of none of this?

ôI didnÆt just join, I ruled them, I brought a random pack of stand-alone villains together into one of the most dangerous forces ever known, a feat beyond even Hannibal Roy Bean, and IÆd have burned the world to ashes to find my little treasure, but I couldnÆt find him, and my anger at his failure of a father only grew. I tore apart everything trying to find my baby until that man I once loved came to battle me, but he didnÆt even have the decency to kill me, to let me find our child in the next world. No, he left me alone, AGAIN, alone in that box for fifteen hundred years, and now I find my son,ö she stopped herself, but covered quickly, ôI find my sonÆs memory used to torment me with memories of what IÆve lost, dredged up by that sadistic Wu left by his vindictive father.ö

OmiÆs breath caught as he realized what sheÆd meant.

ôSo take the blasted thing and keep it away from me,ö and with that, she took to the sky, leaving Omi in the clearing, green embers scattered around, to process what heÆd learned.

Dashi and Wuyaà

8888

Wuya watched as her little treasure left the island. SheÆd lost her temper and almost revealed the truth she had only recently learned herself, and while she wanted desperately to tell him, to claim him as her son, to hold her child and never let go again, she knew telling him now would be of no good, she doubted heÆd even believe her. He may never believe her, but she hoped for the future. That hope being the only thing she had left anymore.

Seeing the annoying, oversized geckoÆs outline disappear into the horizon, she finally released the tears sheÆd held back and alone on that deserted island, the most feared Heylin witch ever wept.

8888

The other dragons found their round headed friend on the beach of the island, the Lantern at his side telling them heÆd either won like they had, or just beaten to bad guys to it. But he was silent, and silent for most of the ride back to the temple, not knowing what to say or ask or anything. And once they landed, the other dragons were in a similar situation as he dismounted and asked Dojo himself, wanting to know the end of the story.

ôDojo, did Master Dashiàever find his and WuyaÆs child?"

Obvious solution: Wuya uses Wu/Heylin magic to either create a copy of or steal an alt. Dimention version oc Omi. Cue the Dragons geting creeped out by how she treats it.

Because if he's anything like his father he's hung like a horse and can get you off multiple times.

In all seriousness though, I liked whitewhiskey's addition. I was stumped on the right Wu to use to get this going and I missed the obvious choice of making one up for myself. Dashi could have easily created that Wu for the specific purpose of reminding himself of happier times, or even with the hope Wuya would find it someday and remember who she really was. I suppose I could go back and make Wuya the Dragon of Fire in my earlier snippet to make this one fit. If nothing else, it adds symmetry with Kimiko being the current Dragon of Fire and only girl on the team. Although that makes me wonder more about Chase and Guan's individual elements now. Any ideas?

EDIT: Cleaned up the earlier sniipet where she saved Omi and habe her comments a little more vague. Hopefully that puts things together a bit better.

Well, Would Dashi's have to be water? Of all the Wu there were, only the Eye of Dashi, a lightning elemental one, was named for him. Chase could be earth (Might explain why he's a grounded dragon).

I figured that was because he was just a spirit or projection.

I figure you can keep Dashi and Guan as Water and Wind respectively, Wuya could be fire and Chase as earth.

But then, do they even really need elements? We know Guan was a powerful warrior same as Chase, but I don't think I ever saw him use an elemental power.

The question seemed to bring the entire world to a halt for a moment as the other Dragon Warriors tried to process what Omi had asked. Finally it was Kimiko who incredulously asked, "Did Grand Master Dashi find Wuya's what?"

Dojo's face seemed to shut down a bit as he asked, "Where did you hear about that, Omi?"

It took the young warrior a few minutes to explain what he had seen due to the Heart's Light Lantern and Wuya's opinions about it. Finally Raimuno offered his opinion with a disgusted, "That's nuts. Dashi and Wuya?"

"There was a lot more going on than you'd understand at this point Raimundo," Dojo replied with t a look.

"But it's Wuya. She's evil!" Raimundo insisted.

"She wasn't always. There was a time when seeing Dashi and Wuya together was something special. If only those rotten Heylin hadn't managed to get their son..." Dojo reminisced.

"So did Grand Master Dashi every find out what happened to the little pard'ner?" Clay asked as he took of his hat and held in in front of him in a nervous gesture.

"Sadly no. As far as anyone knew neither Dashi or Wuya ever knew what happened to the boy after he was taken. Dashi... it tore him up inside but he had the others here to help him and his duties to try to help deal with things. Wuya... the first time she left to find the kid she was gone five years. She came back for a time but she was so distant. Dashi tried to help her but... it was like part of her died inside. She wouldn't let anyone in. She stopped being the saucy and sarcastic Wuya we knew and became angry. Bitter.

She blamed herself for not finding their son and she blamed Dashi for not helping her in her search even though he was interrogating every Heylin he could find for information. I think part of her thought they could have succeeded if he had been there at her side. For all her bluster she never thought there was anything Dashi couldn't do once he got motivated enough. Although she did complain he was usually too lazy to bother," Dojo explained.

"As lazy as a panda. That is what she called Grand Master Dashi in her memory," Omi recollected aloud.

Dojo nodded with a far off look in his eye as he replied, "Yeah. that was one of her favorites. Especially when Dashi tried to get out of doing the dishes for the Temple. With his water abilities he had the easiest time with that one, but he hated doing them."

"He's not the only one," Raimundo grumbled with a look of distaste.

"Still, that's so sad that they never found out what happened. Is that why Wuya joined the Heylin? To find her son?" Kimiko asked with a forlorn look.

"I don't know. Maybe at first. But eventually she was so twisted by them that she became the Wuya you know today," Dojo answered.

"Dojo... did Grand Master Dashi create the Heart's Light Lantern to punish Wuya if she were freed?" Omi asked. He carefully chose the word "punish" instead of "torture."

"Of course not! Dashi would never hurt her if he could help it. Heck, he made the puzzle box as a way to keep from killing her because he was sure he could help reach her someday. In fact The Heart's Light Lantern might have been part of that. The good memories helping to remind her that she was still our Wuya deep down. He never gave up on her. Never," Dojo insisted.

"Too bad he was wrong. I mean she's still as evil as they come," Raimundo offered with a snort.

"Is she? I mean, she did save Omi from gettin' squished not too long ago," Clay countered.

"I suppose," Raimudo accepted grudgingly. All this talk of Wuya's corruption made him think of his own foray as he partner for a time and left a bitter taste in his mouth. Still, he had to admit that she had kept every promise she made him in that time.

"It's still awful to think about. I mean, what happened to Wuya was terrible but still. I mean she was one of us," Kimiko said with a shudder.

"So was Chase Young. The powers of the Heylin side to corrupt are powerful indeed," Omi responded.

"Yeah. But for now try to put it out of your head. We recovered all four Wu today and that's something to be proud of. Let's all get cleaned up and take a break," Dojo said before flying off into the Temple proper. The others followed suit and trailed after him until only Omi was left to ponder what they had learned. It was with a troubled look upon his brow that he followed after his friends.

I wrote this in a prompt drabble thread on another forum, thought I'd put it here. The prompt was Time.

He'd seen a lot of things in his time on this earth, a lot of good, bad, and downright terrifying things.

He'd seen a young fighter battle against evil to save his home village, the same fighter who became his best friend. The two of them were thick as thieves. He'd seen that best friend grow into a strong man, one of the greatest forces of good the world had ever seen.

He'd seen his best friend fall in love with a feisty redhead, who, despite her best efforts, fell in love with him as well. He'd helped them build the temple they'd come to call home. He'd given the bride away at his best friend's wedding, he'd seen the look on their faces when they'd found she was pregnant. He'd been terrified at her mood-swing rampages (Wild hormones and fire powers should not mix). He'd seen how happy the two were when their son was born, and how happy their friends were for them.

He'd seen how devastated they were when their son was stolen from them in the night, how desperate she was to find her little treasure. He watched her leave on her own to search the world for her son. He'd watched his best friend try to beat answers out of every villain and foul being he came across, only to come up empty. He'd seen how distant and cold she was when she'd returned alone after five years. He'd seen them argue; or rather he saw her yell at him for not being strong enough to protect their family. He'd seen the tears running down her cheeks as she stomped out of the temple, and his as he stayed in that same spot for hours.

He'd seen her return once again, as an enemy. She'd been so determined to find the one happy thing she had left, that she'd sold her soul to darkness for the power to find him, but still in vain. He'd watch as his best friend had to fight and seal the love of his life away for who knows how long.

He saw Chase's fall as he joined the other side. He'd seen Guan become cold and distant, leaving the temple for the solitary life of a hermit monk. He'd seen his best friend die of a broken heart.

He'd seen the months, years, and centuries go by as the world changed. He'd seen as one of the monks brought a bald, orphaned baby into the temple. He'd watched that baby grow into a young warrior so much like the one he'd met a millennia ago. He'd seen that boy meet and befriend other young warriors, and it was so surreal, like his old friends had come back or never left. He saw as the boy, in his own little way, started to fall for a girl, though she seemed to be interested in another.

He'd seen her return to her true form, and was terrified, and hurt. She was too strong for the kids, she was a threat to the whole world, but his heart kept seeing the fiery girl his best friend had fallen for, who was once a good friend of his own. He saw his best friend again, if only for a moment, but all he could see was the pain in his eyes at sealing his love again.

He'd seen Chase return, his sights set on the boy raised in a temple. Chase never did anything without reason, but why?

He'd seen Guan again. He'd been friendly to the kids, but they didn't know what he'd been before, that he wasn't the same guy he'd been so long ago.

He'd seen the kids face great odds and still pull through. He'd seen what those kids could do, but no matter what, every now and then, he looked at them and saw the friends he'd had so long ago, before the pain and loss forced them apart.

Despite everything he'd seen, though, he knew he'd see a lot more, and he'd make sure these kids ended up better than their predecessors. He'd help them and always be there for them, or his name wasn't Dojo Kanojo Cho.

After all, if there was anything a dragon had, it was time.

Ok, new idea! And really, just imagine the fun of Omi trying to understand British slang :snigger:

I wonder if there's a Wu that could give Mod his youth back? Or maybe he'd take it from one of the monks, or the eternal youth of Chase Young?
Didn't he have it back anyway in the last episode of Teen Titans?

Yeah, but it doesn't really make much sense, but then, neither did a lot of the cameos in that episode.

Well, I'd just guess he took it from some random guy, or maybe Jack tricked someone else into doing it (Like Vlad). He can be clever at times.

--------------------

Wuya side-stepped a tornado from Raimundo as she saw her cohort out of the corner, along with the red-faced Omi and Kimiko, although for different reasons.

Katnappe had found Wuya was right. While he didn't understand everything, when Omi understood her...advances, his head went from cheese-ball yellow to fireball red as he nervously fumbled his staff, and even better it seemed to supremely piss of Kimiko for whatever reason, something the kitty cat would have to remember for-

"'Ello Wangers!" A cockney voice called across the battlefield, drawing everyone's attention to...Jack Spicer? Who had forgone most of his usual clothes (save his chopper pack) for a Union Jack printed trench coat. Even his Jack-bots had a makeover into Royal Foot Guards.

"Jack Spicer?" Omi said, confused, "There are no sausages here."

That stopped everyone dead, well, except a red haired man behind Jack, dressed in Blues and Royals riding a flying robot horse, and laughing his ass off.

"You were right, Jackie-boy, this one's a right pisser," The man laughed before looking Omi in the eye, "That's bangers, chavvy, not wangers."

"Who is this Chavvy? I am Omi," He got back into his stance, "And who are you, evil ally of Jack Spicer!?"

"E's my gran'da, Cheese-ball," Jack cut in, only to be cut off himself.

"What the hell's with your voice, Jack?" Katnappe had to ask.

Jack sighed as his grandfather answered, "I set 'im strait, not right for a son of Brittan to sound like some American sod. Mad Mod, at your service," Mod said, tipping his helmet, "And you duckies be the ones makin' Jackie boy's plans go fubar. And being the gran'da I am, I can't just let that stand."
---------------------

Not sure where to go from there. Got U.K. slage from here. And I figure even if Kimiko is with Rai, she might still see Omi as family, hence her being protective and pissed.

Wha'cha think?

A bit exaggerated on the accent... but then again, Mad Mod was always exagerating the Britishness a little.

I have absolutely not idea how to write accents. Honestly, I don't think anyone really does.
