No new information about Units 04-06 or the new girl.

The movie will be out on June 27th.





Oh yeah, and Asuka's name changed. She is now Asuka Langley Shikinami.

Apparently, the Shikinami was a sister ship to the Ayanami in WWII...

Seriously, can anyone give me a good reason for the arbitrary name change for Asuka?? And the STUPID new headpiece for Unit 02 is there becaaaaaauuuuusssse ......?

Oh, and this trailer is $#@%$ gorgeous.

They changed her name? Why the heck would they do that? As near as can tell, no one else had their name changed that was in 1.0.

Mmmm...

Shikinami. Interesting, the Shikinami is a sister ship of the Ayanami. At least Anno is still following the same pattern with the character names.

A reason for the change might be in the manga. After Asuka's mom died, she went to live with her aunt. This page kind of suggest that she is married and has a daughter. If Asuka was adopted, that might explain the change.

Asuka seems too proud to take another's name, but I'm not the author, so I can't say that for sure :lol:

We may never know, if they decide not to make it known. either way, they'll still get my $20 or whatever for the DVD.

Pretty. Though...I'm wondering if the ending will make any sense this time.

I do hope all the animators don't go on drug induced vacations before returning to finish the last few episodes of the series in a few months while still having flashbacks this time. They've done that twice already. I'm wary of this and not sure I want to watch it until it's done, and I'm sure I won't wish I'd eaten some mushrooms or something so I can make sense of the ending.

On a related note, I've heard that the Live Action version has had much of the red tape of rights issues cleared up and is pretty much green lit now. If they can make the ending of this one make sense, perhaps they can use it to not confuse the hell out of all those people expecting another 'Transformers' or something. It appears to be getting produced in the US, which means superior CGI and production. We have better studio facilities than Japan.

God help us all if they decide to completely lose their minds and do 'Gakuen Datenroku' instead for some strange reason. Then it will truly have no hope.

Though, it will probably suck, there's still hope. Unlike the Dragonball movie...gah. That will be truly awful. Even the trailer for that thing blows. Wouldn't touch it with Nyoi-bo. >_<

Chow Yun Fat! What have you done!? You bastard! >_<

Dragonball movie leaked online like 3 weeks ago as a cam from the japanese release...

It made Power Rangers (1st Season) look like The Matrix.
It made Twilight cool.

Well, the Eva movie seems to be in the hands of an actual fan...for the moment. If it stays that way, there's hope for it. That's what happened with Transformers. Who could have known Michal Bay would actually prove useful for something? TF2 looks to have hope of being decent as well.

G.I.Joe is coming along well from the look of it as well, although, the trailer is perhaps too similar to TF. They go through a bus, slow mo jump around some missiles, and toss cars about.

There's a decent mock trailer on Youtube that uses CGI Eva footage mixed with scenes from other movies. I could totally see Elijah Wood as Shinji. Finally, a role where whiny emo bastard is appropriate. Seems to put what's her name from Harry Potter as Auska. [Hermione] I dunno, I don't think I'd be feeling that one too much. Still, it's not even in production yet, but as I said, seems to be moving towards it without getting caught in any real snags. Yet...

Gainax owns enough of it still that legal issues weren't too much trouble.

Saw the promo pic of TF2 Devastator.

I like. Looks like he could eat Optimus Prime for dinner.

Still a bit iffy on Soundwave's new look though.

Yeah. TF2 looks awesome. Check out Youtube for a trailer that shows a bunch of the robots rolling about, and a few good shots of them breaking stuff. There's a shot of Devastator at the end. You get a good look at it too. He's fucking huge. Looks to be in a different form from the toy. It's rolling around like Devastator is earlier in the trailer.

Demolisher on his own is about 4x bigger than Optimus Prime then. That's Prime getting tossed off the bridge in that scene and jumping on him.

Considering at least Hightower will be just as big...um yeah. Devastator will be huge.

Scavenger is a different robot. He's a different type of excavator. Devastator will be made of 6 or 7 robots.

It doesn't seem he appears the trailer at all and I was mistaken. The 'red' portion of robot scene is just Demolisher. He is one of the red parts of Devastator.

Eh.. its just that Demolisher is very oddly built in robot form like in the trailer. He's got no feet. Just big wheels.

Actually... Looks a little like Soyogi from Umi no Misaki.

EDIT: Oh.. and the boobs thing might be partially due to the Plug Suit. Note the devices under them, it throws the image off.

Though all things considered, she could have been called:

Invincible
Terror
Chrysanthemum

Though Buchanan would be a good choice as it was renamed Campbeltown and used in Operation Chariot.
