Just looked at the pics above, Rei seems more endowed than before :snigger:. WTF is on Unit 02's head!? Looks like a TTGL homage or something, either way it makes the Eva look screwy, Unit 03 has the whole Darkwing Duck thing going on. I'm definately not sold on Unit 00's colouring, it looks kinda gimpy. The white bits look pretty naf imo, both on 00 and 02. 05 seems to be a mish mash of solar furnaces, drills and what not. I think they screwed something up growing/frankensteining the Eva together, the bottom half seems to be mechanical rather than biomech given the shape and. It's like the unholy fusion of an Eva and a Guntank, but JUST enough Eva to generate an AT field.

Eva-05 looks like something that would be bodged together in a British shed. Mad looking, daft as a brick, but strangely brilliant in a Wallace and Gromit fashion.

You misunderstand... I did not state it was wrong in the manga to call him the 12th in manga, I meant I've known him for the last decade from the anime as the 17th...
It sits wrong, as I keep thinking of the 18 hours Shinji spent inside the 12th in anime.
In Other Words... This whole changing the number and or order of angels between series, manga, and movies... annoys the heck out of me.

If I recall correctly, the original pitch for the series was 12 angels, but they decided to expand it to have more monsters to kill because they were afraid of the audience losing interest :lol:

I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole 'rebuild' thing, myself. I'm waiting to see what the new ending is gonna be. If it doesn't SUCK, I'll be glad to forget that I ever heard the phrase, "I feel sick."
Plus we still have to see how the MANGA will end, so potentially, Evangelion could have FOUR endings to choose from (and to hell with the idea that the TV series and the movie have 'complimentary' endings - they're about as opposite as you can get! )

Oh wow...so in short the first "Rebuild" movie was Gainax way of saying "We've hook up the olds otakus and realized their wishes of Evangelion with modern animation techniques, now let's blow everything we knew of Evangelion sky high !", wasn't it ?

I've got a friend who's stressing that we're dealing with an Evangelion Sequel as opposed to a complete reimagining. He points out the whole relatively unexplained Asuka's last name becoming Shinikami--then points out how the Asuka shown in the preview has an eyepatch
He then proceeded to link to pictures from the last bit of End of Evangelion, with the whole snarky comment of 'Where Else Have We Seen Asuka With An Eyepatch?'
It could be that Anno's just trolling us, but there could be something to it as well.
