Plus, the sheer frustration and irritation of the NERV head officiers, followed by stunned awe as Kamina takes EVA-02, booting Asuka out of it for "being a stuck up bitch", activates it and goes into battle would be well worth it.

"He can't do that! Only the Children can activate EVAs!"

"Yeah? Watch this!"

Yep. I have no doubt that SEELE could plant one of their own operatives at the helm of NERV, making it laughingly easy to ignite Third Impact. Although the absorption of Bush's Ego will leave everyone with a strange desire for tacos.

Mah, not exactly replacing the commander but...

Replace Seele with the Umbrella Corporation due to a much more hostile then normal hostile takeover. All those Evas? Just zombies of angels with their nervous system hacked. Rei...will be stranger then before. Its one thing to be emotionless, and often bandaged for unknown injuries. But when she start carrying her head under her arm due to a rather bad accident, and keeps walking... Gendo even feels sorry for this human psyche experiment that Umbrella throws at Shinji's copping mechanism, especially if it involves Rei in the mess. Just think of the various taboos that would bring up between the two, not to mention the emotional scarring to Shinji's psyche after or even during the fact.

Though, how would Ritsuko respond with the Magi being removed and in its place is the Red Queen. Or the sheer terror that grips Ritsuko that she thinks the Red Queen is trying to kill her, repeatedly, through various supposed accidents. She may be paranoid, but it might just be that she is right.

Poor Penpen is a former experiment from Nerv/Umbrella? I don't wanna know.

Huh, who knew that Seele might just have been the lesser of two evils. All they wanted to do was to make Soylent Orange Tang.

Especially as, apparently, Schultz was a much more competent camp commandant than Klink was, in the episode where Klink was reassigned, and Schultz promoted.
