Darth Nihilus...

Lots and lots of incomprehensible communication.

Or Kreia, that way in the end her apprentices conspire to eliminate her followed by a bloody war of revenge across the entire planet.
angel would drop like flies against the Lord of Hunger.

then he'll destroy earth. ^_^
Well, Earth would still be intact, just a dead world...

Major Ingram Prisken. The man makes Gendo look retarded, and his mecha designs rape EVA and the Angels.

Ingram personally designed the Astranagant, too, and it's more powerful than any EVA unit in SRW. :p

Astranagant is the bastard lovechild of an Orbital Frame and a Gundam, and twice as powerful as either. I recall hearing it can travel through time and all sorts of crazy shit. :snigger:

Who? That would be Mister Morden of Babylon5 Here to fight those False Angels/Vorlons.

Then of course theres Dr. Who's Master who having been trapped on earth really doesn't want to see it destroyed with him on it.

What about Gomez Adams? He's probably donated the most money to Nerv anyway.

Replace
Gendo = Gomez
Misato= Morticia
Akagi= Fester
Shinji= Pugsly
Rei= Wednsday

Poor poor Asuka

...he'd make some kind of porn movie out of the Angel fights. Y'know, to cater to the fetishist audience that'd bang a robot. :snigger:

3 of the 4 of those are some neat suggestions.

Unsure who Johnny Blaze is though.

Ghost Rider

And how can we forget Brigadier General Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.

Bonus points if the Doctor is not involved.

I happen to quite like Stewart... I always felt he should have been upgraded to full companion status...

I am all but certain someone, if not me, has brought his name up before.

In any case, the Doctor would likely have been extreme overkill if present in NGE.

But you have to admit... Shinji with the ability to use a sonic screwdriver to get around Nerv or hack the Magi is an amusing thought.

Only one mention was The Master.

From my thread with about the Brigadier replacing Gendo over at the CBR.

I have this image of the Brigadier on a skyscraper, right next to Unit-01, yelling out, "You there, chap with feelings! Five rounds rapid!"

Unit-01 raises up his pistol, and right before he fires, the Brigadier holds onto his cap. Shinji fires at the Angel, the massive wind from the pistol's chambers blowing incredibly as it bristles the Brigadier's manly mustache.

So...

What if NERV was run by Geese Howard, of Fatal Fury fame? :p
Well... as strong and powerful as he is, if he had the same goal as Genma, the results would be similar.

Genma? :p

As for Geese, his goal would be strictly self-serving. He's not interested in dead wives, sons or anything, what he wants is power he can make his.

It's why he sent a full team out during KoF97 - he was looking to make the power of Orochi his own. IF he does control NERV, everything he does and has other people do will ultimately be only for his own improvement, and screw everyone else.

On the other hand, he has a healthy sense of self-preservation and a strong urge to dominate. He gave up on Orochi's power because it's too likely to destroy its user, and he didn't take kindly to NESTS poaching on his territory and blowing his city up, to say the least.

So yeah, not like Gendo. Gendo lets his obsession control him, while Geese always rules over it and doesn't let it consume him recklessly...

Oops... Obviously, meant Gendo.

If he is not after the same thing, and you take into account self preservation... The Angels and Seele have a problem.

The Brigadier's chalking up some serious "Man-Points" in that one snippet alone; almost like you-know-who from TTGL.

Plus, UNIT troops have always seemed to me to be less of a Redshirt Army than Imperial Stormtroopers or Federation Security.

Let's see if I can throw a few in here:
Ganondorf: This guy wants to be a god, and has the "Power" to back it up.
Dumbledore: dmit it...this guy has plenty of planning skills.
Ansem the Wise: Maybe he'd make NERV useful for once.

Planning skills? Dumbledore? He had 15 years to prepare for Voldemort's return, and all he did was set up the country so that collateral damage upon that return would be maximized. He could have weakened the Death Eaters considerably had he made any actual attempt to do the jobs he was being paid for instead of coming up with convoluted plots. Voldemort's rise to power was never anything more than a side effect of Dumbledore's incompetence, and since nobody ever realized that Riddle was a symptom and not the problem, the damage the old man did continued past his death.

If you want someone to lead NERV to do its official job, Dumbledore would be a terrible choice. But if you want someone who can manipulate Shinji into a state where he will doom the world during Third Impact, Dumbledore would do a splendid job.

Cable.

Master Manipulator, has dealt with a bunch of cabals like SEELE (trust me one writer's run had him deal with a few), and of course have Section 2 be Deadpool.
