HOW ABOUT THAT NEW CHAPTER
Let's say she knew from the beginning. She had no real attachment to him at the start, so the seal on his lust would have been a good thing for her and actually ensured her safety. Okay, fine. Makes sense.
However, as soon as she realized she might be falling for him and he for her, she should have told him about it and been truthful. Why did she not? She loved being pampered by him and didn't want him to stop and for her to be alone again. How much did she actually value him to mislead him for 3-4 years over this? I realize her lifespan and sense of time is vastly different, but she knew she was dealing with a human and human perceptions.
Because let's face it, if you had a really hot girlfriend/fiancee that you were head over heels for, birds are singing and the world is right, and suddenly she told you, "hey, the price for being with me is the nullification of any carnal desires for me for the rest of your life."
*record player screeching*
"Uh, wut? No sex. No kids?"
"I suppose it's possible but you'd probably never be able to get 'excited' *blush* enough to accomplish the task."
"Eh? How does this happen?"
"The System changes your perceptions of me to not see me as sexually desirable."
"So, it neuters me without actually removing my balls?"
*blushes again* "Essentially. "
"And in doing so increases my chances of being unfaithful to you as I still have the desires for other women?"
"Um, yes."
"How long has this been happening?"
"Since the contracts were approved when we first met. Um, what are you doing, Keiichi?"
"Packing my bags."
The more I think about it, the more I believe that any sane man would be apeshit crazy to just brush this off and accept an easy apology. I mean, they passed the freaking Gate test long ago and they STILL didn't tell him or have it removed? Seriously? Most people go into a relationship with at least an instinctual knowledge that if things work out, there will be lust, pleasure and most likely little 'yous' running about eventually. This totally takes that dream, mashes it, grinds it, burns it and pisses all over the ashes of that hope, and he gets a "sorry."? How are they going to justify caring for him but living such a farce?
Gah. As a person who admittedly will never have children due to not wanting to pass my medical condition to my kids, and knowing the loss of that dream, this pisses me off. I think I'm going to go find an soft inanimate object to punt around for a while.
