TBH it seems like a copout to explain the lack of (even attempted) relationship progress in a coupling involing a man in his early 20s. But oh well...

It seems it was the contract or the system or whatever that was doing it, rather than Belldandy actively messing with his head. But the sisters were still aware and said nothing of it.

Moreover, while the series has been running something like 20 years, in-universe it's only been like.... 4 years?

Still, I'll be annoyed if Keiichi just shrugs this off. He really should be pissed. And it's the first potential bit of relationship drama in fucking years. That the majority of the drama is external to the relationship is something I really like about this series, but I've certainly wished for just a little tension between the couple now and then.

I am a bit curious though. I mean, Kei has shown apparent lust several times over the years. So that was, what? His libido raging so hard it could momentarily get through the seal?

Also a little disappointed in Hild here. She could've been like, 'interfering with the hearts of mortals over a contract, such is the way of Gods... Make a contract with us. We're fine with being lusted after.'
I believe that Urd may had know or as lest may had suspected it but I don't think Skuld know about the mind control at all. If Urd did know about it, that dose put a new light on her effort on bring both Bell and K1 together.

I'm kinda hoping it turns out the libido supression thing went both ways. Partly because it'd be funny/hot to see a suddenly randy Belldandy trying to get Keiichi to forgive her so they could proceed to the epic make up sex. But mostly because it would make more sense.

I mean, if the goal was to stop a divine and a mortal from bumping and grinding, why would only one of them get sealed?
You could also look at it as it allowed their relationship to develop without letting lust blind him/them.

We have seen Keiichi's libido time to time, and if this part of the contract had been in full effect from day one just how big was his libido to be enough to actually show itself at those times?
That just fine and dandy if they were like 10 years old but K1 is in his early 20s. Lust is a big part in a well rounded normal adult relationship. What Heaven did was to make it so that Bell and K1 relationship will NEVER get develop beyond a elementary school level.

Yes. And now, this libido so powerful that it could briefly break a seal of divine power has been fully unleashed. :jawdrop: :yay:

I predict many doujin and fics will come out of this. Speaking of, is there a Misc AMG Lemon Ideas thread? We may need one soon.

Let's say the libido suppression did go both ways, and Bell has also been unsealed. Imagine how far she would go to get him to forgive her.

To heck with lemons, we need some AMG custom dialog for SDT, and the finest Belldandy hair and presets we can find.

I'd setting it to hard and leaving that running in the background for the next few days.

But if that's the case, then Skuld was RIGHT. Ie, Keiichi wasn't being a perv only because he was prevented from being so. XD

It's delicious irony because it simply proves her right. The intent was there, just not the ability to do so. XD

The thing that I found impressive was that, apparently, according to someone on /a/, this was foreshadowed all the way back to Peorth's arrival, where she came to earth to grant Keiichi's true wish.

This reveal was like fifteen years in the making, and no one suspected a thing.

OK, if this turns out to actually be true, then Fujishima will have been the most epic god level troll in the history of time.

Yes. there are 'hints' that maybe this isn't a retcon. if true, 20 years in the making trolling right here baby. :snigger:

But that doesn't mean it isn't a retcon. :p Since it could be a case of Fujishima going over his old work, seeing all these 'throwaway lines' that could lead to something, and running with it.

Retcon or not, what this chapter did was make AMG relevant again. That alone is delicious. :sisi: What happens next though, could return the series back to irrelevancy. So the next chapter can't come fast enough.

At the very least, it's half a year or more in the making; the kiss that unsealed his carnal desires was made six chapters ago, and he immediately went "what the fuck, Belldandy looks totally different" before he got distracted by Urd's mom reclaiming her throne as the Queen of Hell. Also, Belldandy most likely knew what was going to happen, and I'm pretty sure she deliberately suckered him into a new contract so that if he rejected her once he found out what had happened, he would never see her again, and knowing that, would be strong-armed into not rejecting her.

People are calling her a slut and whore for lying to him all this time, but by god, that right there reveals how much of a bitch she can be.

HOW ABOUT THAT NEW CHAPTER

You guys do remember that during Peorth's first appearance, Belldandy knowingly took a potion that would make her admit to any morally dubious actions she's taken in her entire life, which caused an immediate string of confessions from Skuld when she took it, and nothing happened. Since I think she'd realize the issues with this whole issue, that means that she was ignorant of what was going on at list up until that point.

... or did not consider it immoral. In the chapter, she indicates that she knew.

Mind you, her knowing could be a retcon, or she could have found out after that point, but in current continuity she did know at some point prior to Hild revealing it, and said nothing.

I fully admit that besides loving the anime and movie, I had little to no interest in the comic, as well, it just seemed to drag on.

Urd was always my favorite goddess. She just wanted her sister and brother in law to get some action going, nothing more.

When is the next chapter due, anyhow?

HOW ABOUT THAT NEW CHAPTER

Okay, I admit to missing this thread entirely. But holy crap, there's so many ways this could be interpreted.

They may play it off as Belldandy showing some human traits: Insecure/needy enough to try to trick him into a new contract/relationship. She may have never loved someone like she does K-1 so the experience may have been new for her too. This is the route that is most likely to have K-1 forgive her.

Or, at the far other end, she was a selfish attention whore who had no intention of letting it go too far, and the reason she said nothing when she took the morality potion is that she really didn't see that what was happening was morally wrong to her. That in itself means she puts a lesser value on humans than Gods/goddesses. This route would obviously end badly.

And so many possibilities in between.

One thing for sure, the author just threw open the castle gates for Crossover Fanfic authors and invited them with fanfare to pair her off with just about anyone now.

I'm surprised that Mangafox is still running Ah My Goddess, as they seem to be on a "this is licensed" binge lately. Guess I'm going to have to find alternate places to read my manga. Suggestions anyone?

Google says that Mangahere, Batoto, and Tenmanga all have it. I can't tell the difference between their quality, and they all seem to have been uploaded on the same date, so take your pick.

Her not loving him would be really out of character, and has no basis. Her sticking around for the sake of the wish, or just being an attention whore, is a really dumb idea, seeing as she didn't really care for the wish or him at first. She already had the contract reinstated multiple times, and she is shown to grab the attention of quite a few people. So...yeah, that doesn't work.

As for why she didn't mention it; well, Heaven apparently has laws against it. We don't know if it is because of a general sense of superiority, the children being exempt from the system put into place to prevent a war between Heaven and Hell, or the children ending up as misshapen abominations that are barely alive. Urd might be proof of an interracial coupling, but angels and demons are more similar to each other than humans and either. They at least occupy all the same dimensions, while humans occupy a smaller number of dimensions.

As for Hild, I would say this is as close as it comes to Hild giving the go ahead for Bell. After all, she pretty much told Keiichi how it was, after Bell made a contract without the stipulation. It could easily have been Velspar or a god mentioning it after one of the earlier times they remade the contract, with a spin of course. This is basically the best time for it to come out in the open, honestly.

Actually, that's pretty much what she said. She said that she knew it was wrong, but she loved the attention, love and care from Keiichi, and didn't tell him for that reason. So yeah, glorified attention whore here. Give me a few minutes to find the page in question.

Edit: Here it is.

It's "true that she did not deceive him."

It's also true that Darth Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin Skywalker.

From a certain point of view. This is what we call a Jedi Truth. Let me quote from TvTropes.

HOW ABOUT THAT NEW CHAPTER

Let's say she knew from the beginning. She had no real attachment to him at the start, so the seal on his lust would have been a good thing for her and actually ensured her safety. Okay, fine. Makes sense.

However, as soon as she realized she might be falling for him and he for her, she should have told him about it and been truthful. Why did she not? She loved being pampered by him and didn't want him to stop and for her to be alone again. How much did she actually value him to mislead him for 3-4 years over this? I realize her lifespan and sense of time is vastly different, but she knew she was dealing with a human and human perceptions.

Because let's face it, if you had a really hot girlfriend/fiancee that you were head over heels for, birds are singing and the world is right, and suddenly she told you, "hey, the price for being with me is the nullification of any carnal desires for me for the rest of your life."
*record player screeching*
"Uh, wut? No sex. No kids?"
"I suppose it's possible but you'd probably never be able to get 'excited' *blush* enough to accomplish the task."
"Eh? How does this happen?"
"The System changes your perceptions of me to not see me as sexually desirable."
"So, it neuters me without actually removing my balls?"
*blushes again* "Essentially. "
"And in doing so increases my chances of being unfaithful to you as I still have the desires for other women?"
"Um, yes."
"How long has this been happening?"
"Since the contracts were approved when we first met. Um, what are you doing, Keiichi?"
"Packing my bags."

The more I think about it, the more I believe that any sane man would be apeshit crazy to just brush this off and accept an easy apology. I mean, they passed the freaking Gate test long ago and they STILL didn't tell him or have it removed? Seriously? Most people go into a relationship with at least an instinctual knowledge that if things work out, there will be lust, pleasure and most likely little 'yous' running about eventually. This totally takes that dream, mashes it, grinds it, burns it and pisses all over the ashes of that hope, and he gets a "sorry."? How are they going to justify caring for him but living such a farce?

Gah. As a person who admittedly will never have children due to not wanting to pass my medical condition to my kids, and knowing the loss of that dream, this pisses me off. I think I'm going to go find an soft inanimate object to punt around for a while.
