Non Non Byori S3 has been officially announced.
No details, just that it is "in production".
I'm guessing that means it will probably be next year, winter this year at the earliest. I'm guessing spring or summer next year is most likely.
No way. That's way too arthouse and niche for that.
I'm not saying they want to lose money on it, but I doubt that making money is the point in this case. The return on it won't be that great and they'd be very aware of that.
This is a passion project. Precisely because it's so out there, dark, and weird.
Sometimes studios will do things like that just for the sake of it if they are comfortable enough financially to manage the risk. I'm pretty sure that's what is going on here just because of the nature of the source.
Uzimaki is also a horror classic, and hororr anime is a pretty rare thing. With artsy horror all the rage in hollywood right now it's a great time to put it out.
If anyone is feeling nostalgic, Netflix has Yu Yu Hakusho available, with all of the seasons right from the gate. Watching it myself in original japanese.
Also, Shokugeki no Souma is also there, though only 1 season so far.
