which is why noda is my idol, well him and ironbear. oh you might have a problem getting hold of noda's stories, the versions on xanderzone were not the most up to date, his website is gone, the best chance of digging his stuff up is to search through ff.net, tenhawk presents, and the xanderzone yahoo group
A bit late, but I found this fic just now and am reading it. It's Xander/Illyria. Which is why I find it interesting because that's such an odd pairing. Both characters are solid to a T though and I recommend it.

Edit: Ok... didn't realise it included smut in later chapters as I was only a few chapters in when I remembered your request. But some of Illyria's comments... so realistic and amusing, even if they totally ruin the emotion of the scene.

If, by 'Taken', you mean the Liam Neeson movie, I'm only aware of one: "Taken?! I don't THINK so!" by mrmiklos (http://www.tenhawkpresents.com/viewstory.php?sid=207). It's the 4th story in his 'After Sunnydale' series (http://www.tenhawkpresents.com/viewseries.php?seriesid=30), and while you don't have to read the first three to understand what's going on, they're all worth reading, and it'll definitely help. Plus, the series also includes the sequel to "Taken?!...", which you'll want to read if you like the original.
I think someone ought to provide a link, so here it is.
Though it's difficult to think up a believable way to cross them, aside from the Halloween cliche. Maybe Willow gets involved with the Mage's Association or the Grail War somehow, except there aren't going to be anymore wars after the fifth. Or maybe the Hellmouth draws the attention of the Association during the time Rin's there after the UBW scenario and they send her and Shiro to investigate. Or heck, maybe things get so bad that a Counter Guardian shows up in Sunnydale. Bah, I don't know.
Isn't there just a slight problem in that Nasuverse vampires are hideously more powerful than Buffyverse, and... that the Church Burial Agency makes the Slayer look like a child. Plus any actual Apocalypse that would happen to the earth would be like "Mwahhaha now to create this portal to plunge this world into hell!!" *Counter Guardian WTFPWNs said idiot*
Perhaps have the primal spirit possession get botched up and have a Counter Guardian or Heroic Spirit get summoned, the Throne of Heroes is clearly not limited by time or dimensions. Or have the same thing happen with the resurrection, botch that up. Handwavium it away with magic and inexperience.
A true fusion would be pretty interesting though, Angelus would be more like Arcuied.... I can't believe I said that. Dunno, you could get them near equivalent roles... I suppose.

I'm looking for a fairly old, at least 3-4 years, Xander-centric fic where Xander ends up killing Willow at Kingsman's bluff when she goes all end-of-the-worldy and absorbs her powers/knowledge, then uses this new absorption ability to basically fix things and take control of the scooby gang. It was slightly dark, and highlights included Xander killing an assassin from the Amber novels' Courts of Chaos with a taser and a screwdriver and threatening a mob boss who was intimidating one of his construction crews.
I know it was written by one of the more prolific authors on Twisting the Hellmouth, but I can't find it there, and I recall it also being posted on the Dark Xanderzone yahoo group, which is unfortunately no longer in operation. If anyone knows what this fic was called and where I could find it, I would appreciate it.
