I'll give you points for effort, though - that would have been effective when I was 12.á Thanks all the same.
The way you were acting it seemed to be plenty. Besides can actually give an example of incorrect interpretation(make sure it isn't something that is stupidly easy to misinterpret) or will you just continue to spout baseless accusations.

Plus I find reusing my opponents words to be amusing when they are true. It makes it ironic.

"Somebody Else Did It" does not make it any better, quite the opposite, in fact.
I didn't say that it was good.

Unrelatedly, the Wikipedia entry for Geass has been updated with the following information from Nightmare of Nunnally. Is it possible to make use of it in a fic?

Special Honorary Foreign Legion - Irregulars

Antagonists in the manga spin-off, Nightmare of Nunnally. The Britannian Special Honorary Foreign Legion "Irregulars" (???????????????, Special Honorary Foreign Legion "Irregulars"?) is an elite covert operations unit consisting of non-Britannians who have been granted capabilities far exceeding the human norm by way of ethically questionable medical augmentation. Some members have obtained Geass abilities as a result of cell matter transplants from C.C. The Irregulars unit insignia resembles the bird-like sigil of the Geass.

Madd (???, Maddo?)
? ? An unpleasant male cyborg who serves as the Commander of the Irregulars.

Sancia (????, Sanchia?)
? ? A dark-haired woman who serves as a field captain for the Irregulars. She possesses the Geass ability known as "The Order," which ù independent of electronic remote detection -- accurately identifies the positions of targets within a given range and calculates precisely their probable movement trajectories based on all known variables. The results of her calculations are instantly submitted to her Knighmare Frame via a cockpit neuroimaging device and collated with radar information before being distributed to her team for tactical purposes. When her ability is active, a Geass sigil appears upon her forehead. Typically partnered with Lucretia, whose Geass ability ù "The Land" ù complements her own. She is older than her subordinates.

Lucretia (??????, Rukuretia?)
? ? A pale haired girl who is a member of the Irregulars. She possesses the Geass ability known as "The Land," which ù independent of electronic surveyance ù accurately percieves the 3-dimensional lay of the land within a given range. The results of her perceptions are instantly submitted to her Knighmare Frame via a cockpit neuroimaging device and collated with GPS data before being distributed to her team for tactical purposes. When her ability is active, a Geass sigil appears upon her forehead. Typically partnered with Sancia, whose Geass ability ù "The Order" ù complements her own.

Dalque (???, Daruku?)
? ? A dark-skinned girl who serves a point man for the Irregulars. She possesses the Geass ability known as "The Power," which augments her physical strength by exaggerating the magnitude of macroscopic forces. When her ability is active, a Geass sigil appears upon her forehead. Her Knightmare Frame cockpit is installed with synchronization receptors that allow expression of this ability as a highly effective frame strength enhancer.

Alice (???, Arisu?)
? ? An antagonist in the manga spin-off, Nightmare of Nunnally. A tomboyish girl who is Nunnally's best friend and classmate; secretly an agent of the Special Honorary Foreign Legion "Irregulars" (???????????????, Special Honorary Foreign Legion "Irregulars"?), assigned to the surveillance of Milly Ashford under the cover identity of a middle school student. As with certain other members of her unit experimented upon and modified under Code-R, Alice's normal physical abilities have been augmented with cells originating from C.C. She has consequently obtained a Geass ability called "The Speed," which allows her to hyperaccelerate all objects within a given radius by manipulating gravitational pull. Designated by her unit to pilot a Knightmare Frame customized to exploit this ability, Alice serves as a highly effective point man on the field of battle. When her ability is active, a Geass sigil appears on her forehead.

? ? Alice's blood contains a chemical suppressant that minimizes the activity of C.C.'s biological matter, which has a tendancy to strain and overtax the human body. A neutralizer for the suppressant may be administered to temporarily boost the effect of "The Speed" in battle, enabling movement of sufficiently high speed that it resembles teleportation.

? ? Alice's relationship with Nunnally in Nightmare is comparable to that between Suzaku and Lelouch in the canon of the television anime.

---

Magical Device Nemo (?????, madouki nemo?)
? ? A protagonist of the manga spin-off, Nightmare of Nunnally. Nemo is a mysterious energy life-form developed under Code-R from a sample of C.C.'s cells. She is referred to by the Britannian military as a magical device (???, madouki?). Shortly after being released alongside C.C. in the Shinjuku Ghetto, she encounters and contracts Nunnally with a Geass that allows sight of "the lines of the future." She assumes an appearance resembling an albino Nunnally upon contract finalization, and the two of them come to share a single mind. Nemo's personality remains distinct from Nunnally, and is said to be an expression of Nunnally's unconscious anger and hostility. Normally disembodied and visible only to Nunnally, Nemo possesses Nunnally's body and temporarily restores it to a functioning state upon summoning the Knightmare Frame Mark Nemo, which they pilot as one. Their piloting style is thought by Cornelia to closely resemble that of the late Marianne.

? ? Nemo means "nobody" or "no one" in Latin, which may refer to her shadowy and enigmatic nature.

I just thought of this randomly, and have not the talent as of yet to write this myself, but I thought it would be an interesting idea.

What if, when Lelouch, Suzaku, Kallen, and Euphemia were on that island, they were transported into an alternate dimension similar to the one in http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3816236/10/Cod...ch_of_Brittania , instead of the ruins with the thought elevator; A universe where he never left his position in the royal family? In this universe, he wouldn't have a base of operations or a supporting group in the black knights. Instead of replacing the current Lelouch in that universe, he would be on the opposing spectrum.

I'm not suggesting one of those ideas where the person replaces his alternate self, but rather, both existing in the same world. Lelouch would have to rebuild his 'army', and he also has an obstacle in Suzaku.

Lelouch would finally meet his match... in himself.

Oh crap, that would be scary! Neither of them would sleep at all; they would be making and discarding plans every second, utilizing ten chessboards at once, Geass-ing people left and right.... Though the royal family Lelouch will probably win quite quickly - much more resources. Isn't the only reason he is surviving so long in canon is that Brittania is not sending in Schneizel or more of their forces? That is, it is brain versus brawn at the moment.

I had an even more terrifying thought.

I mean, watching them go at it will be terrifying enough...

But consider this. They're still the same person.

Objectives, ideals, style... They want the exact same things.

Imagine what happens when they realize they can be on the same fragging side.

They probably would work together, while still getting ready to stab (literally) each other in the back. On the other hand CC and Kallen could finally each be paired up with Lelouch in something besides a harem (not that I consider harem fics bad, mind you).

If they did work on opposite sides, I think it'd be anyones game. Royal Lelouch would have all the resources of Britannia, but Rebel Lelouch would have the advantage of a nation ripe with an insurgency, a corrupt civil service, and the fact that becoming an Honorable Britannian (thereby joining the Britannian system) doesn't really help ones status.

Say, does anyone know where I could find more then 2 chapters of Nightmare of Nunnally by any chance ?

Anyway, I have a very stubborn plot bunny eating away my brain for some time now, so here it is.

The beginning would be pretty much the same with only some small AU elements, namely, the royal siblings that we know, Lelouch, Nunnally, Cornelia, Euphemia, Clovis and Schneizel, are actually closer to each other.

Canonly speaking, we already know that the source of Clovis' and Cornelia's hate for Japan is because they believe Lelouch and Nunnally died here, so it's not too much of stretch for them, Euphemia is just too nice for her own good and I will consider until proved otherwise that the Schneizel is planning to rebel against his father for he same reason Lelouch do : destruction of the current corrupted system and avenging Marriane.

Anyway, those element left us with a Lelouch who actually do not indiscriminately hate the whole royal family but actually have some fond memories of some of his siblings.

The end result is that instead of shooting Clovis immediately out pent up hate, he actually take his time in order to thoroughly question his half-brother.

Which send Lelouch mind into a whole new direction...he could use this, with intelligent use of his geass and now the hypothetic support of his closest siblings, toppling "dear ol' dad" was even more of a possibility.

After that, Lelouch implant specific order into Clovis subconscious in order to avoid possible problem and left him alive. Clovis is now pretty much aware of Lelouch status (though unable to share that fact because of the subconscious order) and sharing some of the black prince ideals, if not most of them (geass induced or not).

In end, Lelouch still became Zero, and form the Order of the Black Knight, but he also manipulate things in the government, helping promote pro-Japanese project.

The end result of all his manipulations would result in regrouping in Japan as much follower (his siblings include) as possible and then wage wars from then.

So, any tough ?

In Japanese legend, Mikaboshi was the darkness between dimensions. Some sorcerors known as onmyoji believed they could harness his power by fuelling and controlling their anger and jealousy.

What if, seven years after the Britannian invasion of Japan, one of their rituals worked? What if they brought pieces of other universes over to theirs through the darkness that spawned them all?

So, you have the Britannians looking on in confusion as Godzilla battles with Angels, and getting rather peeved off at a half-Mexican student who walks through gunfire like rain and blows up mecha with little more that a punch, while dog half demons blow up armored divisions like candy.

Meanwhile, the notorious terrorist mastermind Zero is busy trying to evade the leader of the "SOS Brigade" eccentrics' club at his school, and the members of said club are frantically trying to stop her from getting peeved at the world and ending it.

EDIT: Idea number two: Rather than taking the coward's way out and mindfreeming Shirley into completely forgetting he exists, Lelouch decides to talk it out with her. Cue potentially radical changes.

Could someone get fast reply enabled on this forum? It's a real bother to have to go into formal reply mode.

Anyway, I looked through the previous posts, and didn't seem to see this anywhere, so I'll spew.

What really interests me about Code Geass is the analysis of Enlightenment vs. Japanese (and perhaps in the future Confucian? Who knows.) thought, and the issues that come up when the two butt heads. That and the complete despair that permeates pretty much every other episode. When I was watching it, I half needed the next episode, and half wanted to just stop completely. The actual geass part of it is really a third wheel to the series.

So . . . what happens if we cut the shit? We can keep in knightmare frames because they make battles go faster.

A. This would just make things easier, it's not necessary at all: instead of telling the king that he disinherits himself, he asks the king that he and his sister be hidden from the rest of the world so that they can grow up before being thrown to the lions. Maybe the king says something like, "The lions would not give you that mercy" and he says, "If a lioness is killed, then the other lionesses move in to raise the cub in her stead." Blah blah blah, long story short, he is considered a noble by the king so that later he can be a knight. If you wanted to, you could have him become a knight through guile instead of doing this, which works too.

B. Lelouch rescues C.C. again, but she's just a regular girl this time, maybe one who knows too much. She is shot in the head, but it's not a killing shot. He needs to use trickery and guile to get out of the situation that he is in, and pulls his "I am Lelouch di Britannia" card, and they're like, "Oh shit, call a knight, we have to keep him safe especially since they're bombing the country. Keep it secret, this is of the utmost important to national safety." They get Villetta, someone gives him a gun for his safety just in case. They put him and C.C. into the Knightmare with Viletta, he kills her and co-opts the knightmare. Using the knightmare, he kills the rest of the troop, and goes into position as we had seen before. He saves Kallen, but the rest of the troop dies. The two of them escape, but without his geass, he can't get close enough to clovis to kill him. He decides to become a knight so that he can get into a close enough position to his siblings to kill them, while staying in a position where it makes sense for him to carrying lethal weaponry.

C. Suzaku . . . well, Suzaku survives, but since Zero isn't helping them kick ass, there is no need for someone to pilot the Lancelot. He gets in the cockpit, and is told that he has great synchronization, but Clovis says, "No Eleven will pilot the Lancelot." Suzaku meets Euphemia, but because he hasn't piloted the Lancelot, he is of no interest to her. Basically he is unable to rise any higher in rank than Warrant Officer, and just by rising to the level of Warrant officer (unprecedented in honorary Britannians), he sparks protests across the country against Japanese. He despises this, but still tries to get promoted. He sees himself constantly passed over in favor of worse candidates for promotion, and eventually loses himself in despair.

D. Back to the academy: Lelouch trains like Suzaku, and eventually becomes a passable athlete. He gets good grades in school, and with the advice of C.C., who knows a good deal about how to start a revolution, although not sure why (amnesia from the shot to the head), she advises him to build a strong body of student helpers. He recruits Kallen, Rivalz (? I sort of hate him), Millay, and Shirley (I've actually always thought that Shirley was an underestimated character. We really don't see her that frequently in the show, but I think that if there was more good Lelouch fanfiction, I would be a Lelouch/Shirley shipper. Don't know why, I just like her.) Most of the underlying resistance infrastructure falls while he tries to get close enough to Clovis to kill him (this takes years), and the only member of the JLP left is Todou--the general tried to backstab Todou to save his own ass, so Todou decided to live instead of being betrayed, or something. I like that character too, but I guess he's expendable.

E. So basically, Lelouch is subtly gaining supporters, training them to be an indomitable strike force, and going through the ranks of the knights. They start small insurrections around the country, taking it back city by city, with each of the members of Lelouch's team leading double lives. Suzaku eventually becomes tired of the Britannian army, and defects to Lelouch's side.

F. Lelouch asks for an audience with Clovis, and has a robot pose as his personal attendant. When he and his attendant come in, the attendant immediately rushes Clovis, killing him just as he recognizes Lelouch. This can be done in other ways--an example would be that Lelouch convinces a fellow knight to ask for an audience, Lelouch says he will come along for moral support, pretends to get a case of the taco shits, slips in through a side door, and while the friend is talking to Clovis, comes in and kills Clovis and the friend, before going back to the bathroom. Anyway, Clovis dies.

F. They get back Rakshata, Todou, a lot of the old gang (except the ones who died) and eventually kill the rest of Lelouch's siblings, except for the ones who agree to abdicate their power, and in the last scene, Lelouch kills Charles and declares that he is the eighteenth ruler of Britannia, and C.C. regains her memory and reveals that Charles was a revolutionary in his youth too, and that the world has conveniently forgotten this Ó la 1984. We have an epilogue, and nothing has really changed, except that the Japanese have a slightly better position in life.

Anyway, this is just a basic idea of what might happen. I sort of hate Suzaku at this point, but you can have him succeed or do whatever you wish. It might be interesting to explore Refrain some more.

TL;DR? No Geass powers (for anyone), what happens?

I don't know about no Geass, because I have a feeling it somehow ties the whole story together. There are a couple subtle references to how it connects to the past, and I want to believe that it ties into the Marianne's death.

Yes, it certainly does. It creates a reason for C.C., V.V., and Charles' world domination (he needs what were translated as "thought elevators" for me) is definitely enabled and prompted by geass. However, it doesn't need to be. V.V. could be baleeted, C.C. could be baleeted (although she is a cool character) and Charles' motivation could simply be world domination. There is nothing wrong with good old fashioned world domination.

Basically, what I'm saying is that the geass is not really that integral to the story. Maybe it will be in the future, but most of Lelouch's battles are fought without using it, and then the writers for the anime have him use it after the battles a couple of times. In many other things (two popular examples would be Harry Potter and Naruto) they would be simply awful without the magic. Harry Potter would be a high school fic and Naruto would be . . . actually, Naruto might be good, if it was pulled off correctly, but it wouldn't resemble what we have as Naruto now (which would be a good thing, I suppose).

TL;DR? I can see the utility of geass but I'm arguing that it's not a necessity.

The most recent manga, serialized in Kerokero Ace, is an alternate history called Code Geass: Tales of an Alternate Shogunate (??????????? ????????, Code Geass: Tales of an Alternate Shogunate?). In 1853, Britannia's Black Ships appear in the harbor of Uraga. Some years later, Ruruushu Ranperuuji (???????, Ruruushu Ranperuuji?) is brother to a young blind girl named Nanari (???, Nanari?) and the commander of the military counterinsurgence brigade known as the Shinsengumi, formed under the orders of the Shogunate to fight the Black Revolutionaries (?????, Kuro no Ishin Dan?), a rebel group led by a mysterious masked individual known as Rei (?, lit. Zero?). In fact, these two organizations are one and the same, and they seek to combat in influences of Britannia. Geass is the ability to call upon and summon the armored entities referred to as Naitomeas (????, Naitomeas?); Ransurotto (????, Rasurotto?) is one such Naitomea.

Here's a plot bunny that popped its head up recently.

Shirley isn't just an ordinary girl. She is a direct descendent of The Phantom. Not long after Lelouch debuts as Zero, maybe around the time he forms the Order of the Black Knights, Shirley takes the Oath of the Skull and officially becomes the 22nd Phantom(her mother was the only child of the 21st Phantom but was never allowed by the family to take up the mantle because she was a woman. Shirley is also an only child and it was decided that to keep the Phantom Legacy from dying out, Shirley would be allowed to become The Phantom)

In the world of Code Geass, The Phantom has sometimes worked to aid Britannian interests and sometimes worked against them, depending on whether or not the current Phantom believed that the actions of the empire were just or not. The 21st Phantom did not like the oppressive expansionist policies Britannia was using, particularly how captured territories and the people native to them were stripped of all culture, dignity, rights, and freedom. The 21st Phantom wound up in a situation where capture by Britannian soliders and the exposure of his identity was certain, and he knew that if the latter happened, his family would pay the price as well, so he blew himself up, rendering his body unidentifiable and also accomplishing the mission that had gotten him into that position.

Shirley will at first be uncertain as to whether or not Zero's actions are just or if she needs to take him down. On the one hand, he's a wanted terrorist who murdered Prince Clovis in cold blood, but he also helped clear Suzaku of the crime by confessing on live TV. The question for Shirley at this point was whether Zero confessed because he didn't want an innocent blamed or if he wanted his due credit for the act. He certainly didn't seem all that apologetic on TV, in fact he seemed pretty proud of what he'd done.

I'll spell it out for you, loud and clear, why Shirley will not, ever, work alongside Zero after the first battle with Cornelia (aka the episode where we get to - not - hear CCs true name):

ZERO

KILLED

SHIRLEYS

FATHER

end of story.

And even if she works alongside him BEFORE that happens.. afterwards? Never. Never never ever.

Zero could convince Shirley that he was actually killed when the Britannians diverted the landslide to protect Cornelia. Of course, it's not true, but he can't exactly say, "Oops, miscalculated." He has lied before. Besides, she agreed not to tell anyone about Zero.

Cornuthaum : Not so sure about that. After Mao explained to her who Zero was and reminded her of what he did, she was still ready to protect Lelouch against him. Quite frankly, I think Lelouch could have converted her to his cause if he wanted to.

I did not know that. I've only seen up to the episode where Cornelia completely outmanuevers Lelouch(partly due to Zero's erstwhile allies disobeying orders en masse after the first rebel casualty. But they got theirs. As soon as the numbskulls surrendered, Cornelia ordered them gunned down like the dogs they were) and he only escapes being identified thanks to C.C. showing up at just the right moment disguised as Zero.

Tokyo Tosho has the rest of the episodes, and there's some Code Geass site called Revolution or Rebellion or something that also has them.

lawl vindicated. Sorry about the double post. I have an idea, though.

Rolo is killed by Jeremiah before Jeremiah goes to find Lelouch, so Shirley doesn't die. Either that or the officer succeeds in preventing Shirley from entering the building. Anyway, this is the, SAVE THE SHIRLEY, SAVE THE WORLD challenge.

Shirley survives! By the way, are there any good Lelouch/Shirley stories out there? I saw a bunch of Lelouch/C.C., and a few Lelouch/Karen, but no Lelouch/Shirley.

Hmm, for a while now I have been having the strangest idea of Lelouch as James Bond... They are both essentially British, yes? Then again, Lelouch does not have nearly enough physical ability. On the other hand, wasn't Roger Moore the 'gentleman's' Bond or something for not running much?

Consensus ad Idem

We've learned that V.V.'s contract with Charles Di Britannia is reliant upon Chuck killing God/The Gods.

What if, I asked myself, this wasn't Gods in a supernatural sense? Neither was it metaphorical. Both parties to the contract mean Gods in a literal way, referring to a very specific group of beings.

The Sword of Akasha is a Sakuradite-fuelled weapon based on ancient schematics, designed to focus and amplify energy from the surface and fire it into space. Because the Gods in question came to terra firma from the stars, long ago. They sought prime stock in slaves and servants and warriors. They were driven off by humans bearing great power - the power of the Geass. The power of the human race.

And these self-same Gods will one day return. If Charles Di Brittania has anything to say about it, however, they will be welcomed by a fucking huge Hadron Cannon. And a Round Table of the finest warriors on the greatest steeds. And a Black Prince born in bloodshed and raised in warfare.

When the Goa'uld return . . . they will meet the Devil called Zero. And the Gods. Will. Die.
Way is their not more take of this. A StarGate/CodeGeass sounds awesome.

Not sure if that qualifies as a necro or not. As for why, because if it were a realistic fic, Earth would be defeated militarily in under a year. The ability to launch massive strikes from orbit and destroy every major city and gathered military force is an overwhelming advantage. Whether or not they would be able to keep Earth is another question. And finally, I just don't think that Code Geass and Stargate work well together.

Well, since I've been watching CG again, I've come up with a couple ideas.

The first is what if on Kaminejima island, during the events of episodes 18-19 of R1, Lelouch wakes up with a broken mask because of how he landed after the Gawain's attack. Not only would Suzaku and Kallen find out his identity, so might Schneizel, Lloyd, (I can't remember at the moment if Cecile was there), and the other people there. Which only would lead to Lelouch having more problems on his hands.

The next would be in R2, and is: what if the operation to retrieve Nunnally (either one) had succeeded. How much would have changed?

Another R2: What if Lelouch had been able to pull himself together quicker after Nunnally's 'death' and had been there to counter Schneizel's attempts to get the Black Knights to betray Lelouch?

And a final one: What if someone, say Kallen, had arrived at Kaminejima island in R2 and entered C's World with Suzaku and C.C., and had, on the request of a certain crazy journalist, had taken a small camera with her and had witnessed and recorded the events that went down in in episode 21, which eventually finds itself in the Black Knights' hands. How much would that make them go 'Oh shit, we really fucked up on this one?'
