Yeah, colony ships are expensive, I am lucky that I managed to find enough resources to get a bunch togther, I should warn folks that are in the galaxy 3 System 163, 164 area, that Jerk bad santa has been sending out Probes so he may be 'visiting' someone soon depending.

Some of my colonies are still small, and maxed out. >;p
Bad Santa has been spying me as well before I went in vacation mode, actually, but I got annoyed and IMed a member of the association the CP alliance is at war with, ratting out his far colony's location to them. Last I heard, I think he was being attacked by 400 battleships. :snigger:

Serves him right for being an assclown.

It's a shame I couldn't talk the player 'crais' into joining us. The man has over 150,000 ships, I'm told.

150,000 ships?

Im struggling at 15!

Also, how long does a destroyed planet last? Or is a permanent thing? I abandoned my colony, slot 11 with a whopping 90 fields and I am now annoyed that I cant recolonize that slot =p

It lasts two days I believe.

About my colony, JOY JOY, I got a 5 spot with 302 fields! I'm at 1/430/5, so I can start to operate in galaxy 1 now. Sending a small fleet there now to start some raiding.

Heh....

Bad luck with two colonies.... :(

56 isn't a good number, but i'm keeping them for mining operations if nothing else....

On the other hand it might have something to do with the fact that is have two planets over 300....

The other two are around 150 each *above*

Now i'm planning on building a bank somewhere in the outer rim (galaxy 8-9) i just get TOO much deuterium :(.

I just sent an ingame message pointing to a good spot for that bank Mosh. I have a colony ship on the way, set to land in 24h. That was the quickest I could get it there too, with the amount of fuel colony ships use I had to drop the speed down to 60% in order to get it there. Happy to say the it isn't so hard on the L. Cargo, it takes less than 1k to get there at full speeds. Plenty of room for resources.

7:320 right?

What slot are you taking? I want to aim for 10 or 15 but I dont want to send in a colony only to find that the slot is taken =P

48 hour round trip would totally suck.

And thanks for the heads up on the how long the damn destroyed planet stick around, ttestagr.

#58
Alrighty then I think I will try to aim for 7:320:10 as my new pure res planet, if no one objects that is =p

Got my new bank colony, and at 171 fields in the 7 spot I am going to keep it. Come out to galaxy 7! If we all stash resources here it can make trading much easier. Plus once we have enough to afford it we can give each other moonshots.

Bit of a dilema here...

7.320.4 or 7.321.4?

Feh. Feeling all sorts of envy here. Only got one colony so far, and it's a 36 space Planet 13. :blue: Ah, well. It'll do for now, gathering crystal for me.

It's gonna be a couple of days before I make a run over there to Galaxy 7. I want an intermediate base between there and home in Galaxy 4 first. Good luck to all of you on your planet size.

Don't build on a colony you're going to destroy later. That causes your points to drop, while if you blow it up while its empty you don't take the massive hit.

Well, I guess that means Skuld Retreat will stay than. Granted, only 40 fields, but it will have to do (and so far, been okay even with that few fields. Not great, but okay).

Three spaces opened up in my system as an inactive got booted. Granted, only space 1-3, but still... room in my system at least.

I made a Colony, slot 4 in the Galaxy 7, System 320 already, 225 places within it?

Eh, I won't mind the drop in points. I've filled it up, and I'm going to hold on to it for a while since it's in the same system as my homeworld. When I'm running out of colonies is probably when I'll get rid of it.

Lucky...

Had to return a colony ship cause of you. :p

Not really, if you're above 50k-80k then the hit is going to be minor. That's why i'm developing my "small" colonies, i want them to produce some resources for them to be compensate some costs. Besides i use local production to develop them.

56 fields.

blew it up immediately. Didn't feel like developing a world (position 5) with that few of a fields. If it was 1-3, maybe. But not 5.

Yep!

Don't go for less than 150 in that area! I destroyed a few colonies but hey.... better than developing a 34 in position 4

It has been done! Another colony has been established in galaxy 7... 152 slots. I'll keep it for a bit. ;)

We going to make a system or 2 in galaxy 7 just for UBW members? Just wondering so I can send a colony when I can afford one yet again... <_<

Too far for my colony ships. Need to set one up in Galaxy 4 at least before heading to Galaxy 7. <_< Which, first colony was a dud. :headbanger:

Plenty of empty spaces in Galaxy 4 in the 400+ systems. Shame the coordinates for 4:444:4 is already taken up. I wanted it. Trying out the 454 system instead. Feh.

I think if you cut the speed down it burns less fuel and the colony ship will go further.

Or you can send with it a large cargo which burns less fuel and will be able to carry extra with the colony ship.

Not sure the game will do that though or if the Large cargo will not allow you to colonize.

Not sure if the large cargoes work with colony ships, but slower speeds does eat up considerably less fuel.

Hence I was able to send a colony ship from galaxy 3 to 7 since the colony ship on its own cannot hold enough fuel for 100% speed.

From galaxy two, I was able to have a colony ship reach 7 at 60% speed. As soon as I get more computer time I'll get out of vacation mode and build up a shipyard there.
