Colonies.

Okay. I'm sending a colony ship to Galaxy 7. System 320. Spot 6. Going to take me two days to get there.

And I BETTER not come back and find out it only has like 30 fields.

Does it mean I didn't need t build a colony in 4:2:5 before I can reach 7:320?

#78
No, but it does cut down on duet needed to move the slug of the ship to colonize. You can move ships from galaxy 1 to 7, but it means you have to go really, really, really slow.

Yup. In my case, it will be two days before I see the results of my colonization. Supposing someone doesn't get to that one first, wasting more time. AND, if I don't get a decent number of fields (10,000 metal, 20,000 crystals, and 10,000 duets down the drain).

My little waystation in Galaxy 4 is slowly getting into shape. Lucked out with 187 spaces. :) Would have been nice to have gotten more in that 4th planet slot, but it's a whole lot better than 36 like my last colony. :D

After I've gotten that place ready to manufacture raiding fleets, I'll set up another colony in Galaxy 7. I'll be ready to trade with you guys after a couple of days.

I colonized 3:163:13 and wound up with 49 fields. Bah. Good thing you can enlarge the number of fields.

Another colony ship is en route to 3:163:1 now.

You can't expand a colony until a lot later. First your Robot Factory and Computer Tech have to be at level 10 which will take a lot of resources and the robot factory will take up spaces. then you need to build a Nanite Factory and then you need to get another tech ,I think energy up to 10 or 12 and then you can build a Terraformer.

Terraformer= Energy Tech: 12, Nanite Tech: 1

Anyway, there are NO colonies in 3:162 beside me in the 15th slot. Just figure you should know since I'm thinking of taking Planet 4 in that system as well

Terraformers also require 1000 energy free to be built, so unless you build a fuckton of solar satellites, you aren't terraforming small planets anytime soon.

EDIT: And if you think terraformers are bad, wait until you research level 1 of gravitation tech, which is needed for Deathstars.

You will need 300,000 energy free.

300,000.

Nuff said.

Is that energy permantly used with the Terraformer and Graviton Tech?

If not at least with the Terraformer you could just shut down your factories while it's being built.

Thankfully, you just need it to actually develop the tech or factory.

But even then, you pretty much need a world in position 1 with a metric fuckton of solar satellites. And you need to hope that no one nukes them when they see them.

Because y'see, when people see 40k solar satellites, they know it's bad news. And nobody wants you to build a Deathstar. :snigger:

Yes! After two days of waiting, the colony at galaxy 7:320:6 was worth the wait. 254 fields. ^_^

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had sent my colony ship there too.
Is anyone going to 7:321:5? That will be my next try at galaxy 7.

300.000 energy!

Well... that's going to make my plans at building Death Stars to be stashed away for a couple of months...

300.000 energy!

With that much energy, I'm not sure if I will ever had enough energy. <_<

Heh... you just need to have the research done ONCE... afterwards it won't matter. Those juicy Death Stars are going to be worth it. :snigger:

Death Stars are the ultimate defensive fixtures as well, as they have rapidfire against almost everything with nothing for them. Unless someone is attacking with Death Stars, they can rip through attacks like nothing. And if someone is attacking with them, they are so obscenely slow that you will see it hours in advance.

Of course, if you see a Death Star attacking you, you had better get the hell out. Unless you're willing to burn up 70+ battleships, you ain't taking that monster down.

Just comes to show that they're good for everything! Issue is... how the heck do you deal with that bloody speed?

Mobile attack platform. Keep a colony slot free and send a ship as close to the target as possible. Then send your fleet there and attack. Don't build on it, and abandon it when your done.

True... though one active player might wonder if it's cost effective to do that. :huh.:

I colonized 4:38:4, and am in the process of colonizing another planet in 3:227 and a planet in 7:321.

If all goes well and I get non-shit spaces in Galaxy 7, I'll soon be trading whatever you want with you. Mostly Deuterium and probably some Cryystals too. I found a guy in Galaxy 2 who's LOADED in crystals (120k units on his home planet), and raided him twice already...

Spill... We need crystals too... :snigger:

Funny. At the moment, I seem to have... a decent amount of crystals.

Probably because I haven't done a lot of raids since my favorite raiding planets have been removed to the person being inactive for too long. :blue:

Granted, that isn't to say I like the amount of crystals (still can't research crap) I have, but now that the metal amount needs some improvement, not hurting either.
