As the train? slowed to a stop Shin finished stuffing the last of the supplies he had been able to gather while walking up and down the length of the train.? There wasnÆt much? just some canned goods? utensils and the jerky he had managed to find earlier.? ? ? If he was lucky he might last 2 days on what he had (if he skipped a meal or two).

When the doors opened? Shin stepped out and took in his location.? The first thing he noticed was the black puddles of ooze that were all over what looked to be a train station.? ?

A part of him wanted to see what the ooze might have been made of, but he quickly told that part of himself to shut up as he had no idea where he was? and he had no idea if that ooze was poisonous to the touch.

Looking around some more he saw the train that had brought him here.? Instead of the Tokyo subway train he had been on before, he was looking at a train with cars that looked like they belonged in those old American movies that took place at the turn of the 20th century and that was nothing compared to the locomotive itself which looked like that looked like a large pink metal mole.

Casting aside that bit of weirdness? Shin decided to look at the thing that had once been his phone.? ? He ran his fingers over the 5 buttons and then he lifted what looked to be a screen protector.? What happened next nearly gave him a heart attack

Mr. Shin Takanawa, I welcome you to the D-Synchro. This device will allow you and your partner to share a bond and share messages between each other quietly. This device also several other features including a clock, map, Digimon Dex, and various other applications. There are also applications for during battle, but be warned that the abilities will need a recharge after use and will have their effects degrade if used multiple times per battle. Please take care and enjoy the D-Snychro.

After it finished its spiel? Shin looked up from it and asked no one ôWhat the hell is a digimon.ö? After contemplating this for a few minutes he decided he would worry about that later.? Making his way to what he thought was the exit? he noticed something strange.?

When he had gotten on the train it had been night or at the very least twilight? ? the light spewing from what he thought was an exit gave the indication that it was much earlier than that.? ?

Slinging the supplies he had stuffed in his backpack over his shoulder and putting his broom shaft in front of him defensively? he called out ôHELLO IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE.ö

PART III

The two teens stood side by side in front of the trainÆs sliding door. They had noticed they were approaching landùan island of some sortùand the vehicleÆs speed was gradually diminishing.

ôI still say those rules are stupid,ö Kyouya argued in a bitter tone.

ôI donÆt mind,ö Suzuka digressed, smoothing the unwanted wrinkles on her dress. ôIt is the duty of a king to provide the challenger with a handicap so that, in his loss, he comes to understand and acknowledge the insurmountable gap between you and him.ö

ôYouàare quite prideful yourself.ö

ôItÆs not pride,ö the girl stated in a dull tone, as if speaking to a mentally challenged individual. ôYouÆre still a few years too early to be able to understand Matsushita Suzuka, Shiro-kun.ö

ôNot like in the least bit interestùwait; what did you just call me?ö

ôBesides, itÆs not like Pride-san said you canÆt use your neat little toy on them or anything. The rules of this game are well within expectations.ö

ôKyo,ö the boy said pointedly. ôEverybody calls me thatàand thatÆs exactly what he said!ö

Suzuka looked up at him, examining his serious, unfriendly face for a few seconds. Then, she smiled.

ôNah, I think IÆll stick to æShiro-kunÆ.ö

Kyo growled under his breath. This girlà!

ôSo, Digimon, huhàö Suzuka continued, ignoring the boyÆs bad mood. ôFunny. I wonder if IÆll get to meet my character~ö

The train came to a halt on a vast expanse of beachside. However, the bleakness of this alien world remained a constant, and the sand itself was colored a pale grey. Beyond the expanse of sand a carpet of dark-colored trees covered the entire island save for the very center, where a gathering of hills rose over the canopy.

Of course, the most interesting thing was the welcoming committee awaiting them. There were about twenty of the small ones; spear-wielding comical renditions of a medieval knight, standing at attention in two rows. In front of the black knight-like Digimon, there were three taller creatures with rubbery, pear-shaped black bodies, their faces covered by what looked like gas masks.

ôWe stand your service, General-sama!ö the three taller creatures announced before kneeling down, quickly followed by the smaller ones.

Suzuka planted her hands on her hips and nodded.

ôAbout time I get the treatment I so rightfully deserve.ö

ôHow do you even know theyÆre addressing you?ö Kyo wondered.

ôSilly Shiro-kun, who else could they be possibly referring to?ö

The taller boyæs narrowed to a sharp squint.

They stepped off the train, careful not to end with their shoes stuffed with sand. Kyo was fiddling around with his Digivice, trying to make any sense of its utter lack of instructions or visible commands. Meanwhile, Suzuka approached the group of kneeling Digimon.

ôAt ease,ö she said, smirking in satisfaction when her words were obeyed instantaneously. ôSo, whoÆs in charge hereà?ö

The Digimon had no way to display their confusion.

ôUmmàyou are, General-sama,ö one of the tall Digimon responded, and Suzuka felt like face palming.

ôNo chain of command. Got it. Give me a minute guys.ö

She walked back to the train, where Kyo was still standing while looking down at his D-Synchro.

ôI donÆt think weÆll learn much from these guys.ö

ôTroopmon. An Undead Digimon at the Adult level, Virus Type. Its special attacks areàhow the hell do you read this?ö

The girl looked at the holographic display projected by KyoÆs device, which presented an image of the tall masked Digimon and a list of information concerning its specific species.

ôItÆs Greek,ö she pointed. ôI guess you could read it as æKoroshoÆ.ö

ôAlrightàö Kyo assented, not even bothering to ask how the girl could read Greek. ôSo that would be æKorosho AttackÆ and æDeath MarchÆ. You have any idea what that means?ö

Suzuka shook her head. ôI can only read the letters; I donÆt really know the language.ö She then smiled. ôBut itÆs nice of you to take initiative and figure out how this things works for me.ö

ôI-I didnÆt do it foràö Kyo grimaced at the sickly sweet smile he was being showered with. ôàfocus on them and press the center button.ö

That she did, and thus learned that the smaller Digimon were PawnChessmon. The bafflingly obvious name almost made her laugh.

ôNow, for what I remember, and a bit of common sense, we can assume Child Digimon are weaker than Adults,ö she stated.

ôWhat you rememberà?ö

Suzuka nodded. ôI voice-acted in the Digimon Adventure animeàyou do know this Digimon thing is a fairly popular franchise, do youà?ö

ôI know at least that much!ö

ôGood. Anyway,ö she continued, her eyes jumping from the rows of Digimon standing ready in front of them and the Digivice still displaying PawnChessmonÆs stats. ôWe might as well get started. According to Pride-san, the first thing we should do is get ourselves Digimon partners.ö

ôCanÆt we just pick one of these guys?ö

The look of utter disappointment Suzuka gave him really, really pissed him off.

ôI wonÆt stop you. IÆd rather look for something more interesting, though,ö she declared before walking away and starting to shout orders. ôAlright, guys, I want you small ones on rows of five watching my back. You three big guys I want in front and flanking both my sides. Now!ö

Kyo watched with a flat stare how the Digimon obeyed swiftly; like a decently trained unit, they assumed positions smoothly, without collisions or disorder. And so the girl and her escort departed, apparently to comb the coast of this island.

ôAh, oi! Wait! DonÆt leave me behind just like that, damn it!ö

*********

The two identical Digimon rolled on the sand as they struggled to claw and bite each other; like that, they were truly indistinguishable.

It could hardly be called a fight, though. They were not even using their special techniques. It was closer to a kindergarten fight, only with sharper natural weapons. The most impressive thing, however, was that neither of the two had noticed the rather large squad of Digimon immutably watching the scuffle, led by two humans.

ôDracomon,ö Kyo read. ôA Dragon Digimon at the Child level. Data Type. Special attacks: Baby Breath, Tail Smash and G-Shurunen.ö

ôSee? Interesting,ö Suzuka declared with a subtle smile. ôAnd since IÆm so kind IÆll let you have one.ö Her hands were clasped together, for a moment looking the role of a bright and bubbly young maiden. ôWeÆll have matching Digimon, Shiro-kun! IsnÆt that absolutely lovely?ö She nodded eagerly. ôIt just shows how much I value you as my first and most precious minion. IÆve always wanted a minion, you know.ö

ôQuit the crap already!ö

It was impressive how not even the loud exclamation interrupted the two small dragonsÆ squabble.

ôIÆm not your minion, and I never said I wanted any of theseàDracomon.ö

ôShiro-kun, please,ö Suzuka retorted in the condescending tone Kyo was starting to really, really hate. ôYou know nothing about Digimon; you have no idea what is good and what is bad.ö

ôAnd you know better?ö

ôNot by much, I admit, but I know I want one of these Dracomon,ö she plainly declared. ôAnd when I want something, I get it.ö She shrugged. ôBesides, isnÆt that the point of the whole æpartnershipÆ thing? If Dracomon turns out to be a weak Digimon, IÆll just turn him into a strong one.ö

There it was again: that sickening, unshakeable confidence. The one so clear in her eyes on that day, during that horrible mahjong gameà

ôàwhatever. IÆm still not your minion, and IÆm sure as hell not like these guys.ö

The girl did not appear bothered by this declaration.

ôSo, you intend to play this game on your own, then? A shame; IÆd really rather have you close.ö

Kyouya did not blush, but his expression became a bit stiff and his lips curved down in a grimace. Glancing sideways, he noticed one of the Dracomon was beginning to overpower the other.

ôWhaàwhy do you say that?ö

The girl sighed softly. ôI donÆt like to repeat myself, Shiro-kun. Now, if you excuse meàö

She stepped past her troops and stood before the two Dracomon, one of which had finally pinned the other on the sandy ground and was apparently trying to choke him.

ôUmm, excuse meà?ö

Of course, if the presence of two dozen people and KyouyaÆs loud words from earlier did not bother them, SuzukaÆs call most definitely would not fare any better.

Suzuka was not amused.

Matsushita Suzuka will not be ignored.

If they had had real eyes, the small squadron would have blinked a lot when she remorselessly kicked the winning DracomonÆs head, throwing him away from his succumbing opponent.

That was when the two identical Digimon realized they had a bit of an audience. Immediately, the two enemies leapt backwards and stood together, hissing warily at the large and decidedly intimidating group led byàa human?

ôNow that I have your attention, can I hear your story, little ones?ö

To be continued...

Yoshi cracked his neck, popping out the kinks that had appeared due to his sleeping posture in the train. He hated sleeping on the train. Especially when all the sleeper cars were all booked out and he was forced to sleep in the chair.

"Eurgh, man. What a weird dream. Hah, like anything like that could happen." Yoshi muttered and he got off his seat to stretch, "Huh, looks like the train's stopped. Must be at the station already."

Since no-one else was around, Yoshi figured the everyone else had already gotten off the train. though partially annoyed that noone woke him up, Yoshi walked through the automatic doors of the train and set foot onto the station platform.

A station platform that was worse for wear apparently.

'Huh, they really need to fix this place up' Well, regardless of the state of the place, he needed to ring up his cousin to tell them to pick him up. Reaching into his pocket, Yoshi pulled out his cellphone.

Except that his cellphone had been replaced with a green device of some sort.

Yoshi stared at the thing for a moment before he remembered what had happened.

"Oh, so it was real. Then that means..." Yoshi scanned his surrounding area. Now that he was looking properly, Yoshi could now see that wheverever he was, it was not his intended destination, "Damn, I'm lost in another dimension."

"Heh" Yoshi took a slow deep breath before grinning, "AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!"

Yoshi was not amused with his new situation.

ôItÆs nice to meet you Monodramon.ö Tk said as he grasped the purple dragonÆs hand and shook it. ôSoàwhere are we?ö

ôI donÆt know reallyàthe last thing I remember was trying to find some food thenànext thing I know IÆm waking up here.ö Monodramon said as he looked to the sky as he tried to recall what happened.

ôSo, you donÆt know the name of this place huh?ö Tk said as he began to look around for any sign of a name.

ôWell according to that sign over thereàö Monodramon said as he pointed to a nearby sign that was rusted and covered in dust. ôThe sign says that weÆre in Daimachi Terminal Station.ö

ôRight thenà.There isnÆt much we can do here thenàLetÆs go explore Monodramon.ö Tk said as he rubbed the top of the digimonÆs head before heading towards the entrance way, Monodramon quickly in town behind him.

The city itself was in ruins. Holes in the streets, buildings broken and falling apart, trees ripped from the ground, trash littering all over the place. The city was quiet...too quiet really. It seemed eerie and spooky as the pair walked down the street making the only noise.

"Where are we going, Tk?" Monodramon asked as he walked beside Tk, looking around at the various scenery

"I don't know Monodramon, but...lets just look around for now and see if we can't find anything." Tk said as he stopped to look around.

bzzzt bzzzt bzzzt

"Hmm?" wondered Tk as he pulled out his digivice from within his pocket and flip the screen open.

Congratulations on find your partner, Mr. Takeru Raitei. We hope that you and your partner have fun times in the future.

Tk sighed as he slipped the device back into his jacket and looks towards the gray and cloudy sky.

'What is going on? Why..am I in this world?' wondered Tk as he turned towards his partner who smiled at him once he noticed Tk staring at him. Tk smiled back at Monodramon 'I guess this isn't so bad...at least I'm not alone in the Digital World.'

SUZUKA AND KYO PROLOGUE PART IV

As usual, special thanks to Daneel for edits and extentions of the original draft.

**********

ôHumansà? What are humans doing here?ö muttered the Dracomon that had been kicked earlier before noticing his twin having a contemplative look as he considered the human girlÆs request. ôDonÆt tell them anything! ItÆs none of their business!ö

ôYou heard the little dragon pipsqueak, girl. IÆm not interested in wasting more time than we have to.ö

Suzuka ignored KyouyaÆs comments and put on her most pleasant smile, a smile that would send her fans into frenzy, for the Dracomon she had saved earlier. ôItÆs okay. Just focus on me and explain what exactly you two were fighting over.ö

A beat.

à

à

ôCripes, didnÆt I tell you thatÆs-ö

ôItÆs Blue Diamante!ö blurted out the weaker Dracomon, much to the boyÆs surprise.

ôWhat the fuck is that?ö

ôLanguage, Shiro-chan,ö said the twin-tailed girl.

ôLook, you idol ladyà itÆs gonna take more than that to-ö Wait a second. ôShiro-chan? What happened to Shiro-kun?!ö

Suzuka grinned as if she had been looking forward to that question. She always loved a smart audience.

ôItÆs a promotion! A sign that youÆre moving up in the world! Be proud of yourself, Shiro-chan!ö exclaimed Suzuka in that bright and bubbly tone that easily got under his skin.

Urge to face palmà risingà Kyouya paused a moment before taking a deep breath, not wanting to give the girl any more pleasure and amusement by seeing his reactions.

Deciding to hold off the teasing for now, the maiden turned towards the Dracomon who blurted out earlier. ôSo where exactly can you find this Blue Diamante? And whatÆs so special about it?ö

With the floodgates open, there was no shutting up the little dragon DigimonÆs mouth.

ôYou can only find them are in mountainous regions with very high altitudes. But trying to mine for them is tough because theyÆre rare gems! ThereÆs a rumor of a large deposit up in the hill over there.ö

ôAraà that looks like quite the long journey,ö murmured Suzuka, noting the dark jungle in front of them.

The other Dracomon wasnÆt looking too happy and glared angrily at his former victim. ôYou had to open your big, fat mouth, didnÆt you?!ö

ôThatÆs your own fault for not settling things before we came across the two of you,ö said Kyouya in a simple tone. ôBlame your own lack of strength for getting yourself into this mess. Really, what kind of fight was that?ö

ôShut it, human! Why donÆt you come here and see for yourself my ælack of strengthÆ?!ö

The boy put on a vicious smile and flexed the gauntlet on his right hand. ôAlright. LetÆs play. Troopmon, PawnChessmonà donÆt interfere with my fight. You too, idol lady.ö

She obviously didnÆt hear him as she was still contemplating just how long the trip to the region would take and whether it would be a worthwhile journey.

It didnÆt take long for the aggressive Dracomon to fly towards Kyouya. He began rotating as much as he could to maximize the amount of momentum into his attack. ôTail Smash

However, the young human male maintained his ground as he weathered the attack. It was pretty hard hitting but then again, heÆs been able to take tougher punches, some that came from the victims who actually tried fighting back, which earned those boys and girls bonus scars. ôIs that all you got?!ö

Meanwhile, the teen idol nodded to herself. ôAnd, once again, my brain does not fail me. Sometimes IÆm so amazing itÆs scary.ö

The Dracomon by her feet blinked in confusion.

ôWha-what are you doing?ö

She gave that million watt smile to the passive Dracomon again. ôTo be honest, it makes little sense for you two little fellas to fight over a treasure you have not even found yet.ö

The Dracomon actually looked guilty and embarrassed of that little lapsus. The other one would probably share his feelings if he were not currently busy tryingùand failingùto bite KyouyaÆs arms.

ôSo, I think IÆll get that æBlue DiamanteÆ for you,ö Suzuka continued. ôIt looks like it might be something worth looking into. And along the way, we can get to know each other a bit more and deepen our bond of friendship!ö

ôYou really want toàbe myà?ö The thought of being associated with someone soàdazzling and courageousàit was a bit overwhelming for the rather ingoing little guy.

While he was in his daze, Suzuka called out to her other companion. ôShiro-chan, I have a plan!ö

ôBaby Breath!ö A small stream of flame erupted from DracomonÆs mouth and caught a little bit of KyouyaÆs red sleeve, forcing the youth to hit the ground and roll to put out the flame.

ôShiro-chan! Mouàö The girl sighed. ôBoysàö

Suzuka then noticed that KyouyaÆs device had fallen out from earlier. While the brawl continued in the background, she decided to take the opportunity to exchange contacts since she remembered seeing a text message function on her own device when trying to answer PrideÆs call.

A little bit of fiddling later caused a small pop up on the display screen of her own D-Synchro.

Vanity has been added to your contact list.

An amused little giggle escaped her lips. ôVanity? How cute is thatàö

ôEat this!ö shouted Kyouya as he thrust his clawed hand towards his opponent, managing to draw a little bit of blood thanks to Dracomon making a bit of a clumsy dodge.

ôCheà! How didà?ö The glint on the clawed hand was enough for the small dragon Digimon to figure it out. ôChrome Digizoidà? At least thatÆll keep things a bit interesting, if only for a minute or twoàö

ôYou talk big, little lizard!ö Kyouya taunted, grinning like a lunatic.

ôLi-Lizard!ö Apparently it was a severe insult. ôYouuuuuu! Human!ö

ôHaaàö Suzuka sighed at the brutish antics of the two. ôAt least they bonded easily enough. Now,ö she said, focusing her attention on the other, quieter Dracomon by her feet. ôWhy donÆt you come along and see how I direct my troops while we wait for those two? You might learn a thing or two.ö

ôUh, yes! IÆllà uhà lead the way, Madam.ö

The way he was fidgetingàit was rather adorable. ôItÆs Matsushita Suzuka, but thatÆs too long, so just call me Suzuka-sama.ö

He tried the name out slowly. ôSu-Suzuka-samaàö

It took all of her discipline not to go æKYAAAA~!!Æ on the spot.

**********

Suzuka could not deny her amusement as she watched Kyouya dash into the forest wearing an almost deranged smirk.

Seriously, were all men this predictable?

After watching her rather rebellious new minion depart with one of the Dracomon by his side, Suzuka looked down at the second one, who obviously did not look very happy.

After giving instructions to the Troopmon and PawnChessmon, Suzuka waited for the two brawlers to pause to catch their breaths. While Kyo had first ignored the girlÆs calls for attention, he immediately reacted when she brought up the word ôcompetitionö.

Basically, Suzuka had challenged the boy to take his new friendùsomething both human and Dracomon stubbornly deniedùand find the Blue Diamante before she and herùshe had already declared it her belongingùDracomon.

His bloodstream pumped up with adrenaline and his proud personality eager to beat his nemesis in frills, Kyouya eagerly accepted and departed, joined by the belligerent Dracomon, who only cared about finding the valuable gems.

ôYou donÆt look very happy,ö she finally said. ôWould you rather have gone with Shiro-chan?ö

ôAh? No! No, noàö the shy dragon immediately replied, shaking its tiny paws in front of his body. ôItÆs nothing to do with Suzuka-samaàitÆs justàö

The girl patiently waited for the Child Digimon to speak.

ôàIÆm just weak,ö he finished, clenching his tiny paws into tiny fists. ôHeÆs strong, and smart, and heÆll probably take the Blue Diamanteàö

ôHe definitely will if you do nothing but whine like that.ö

The small Digimon stiffened and further slumped down, as if acknowledging his own weak-mindedness.

ôVery well,ö Suzuka said, apparently uncaring of her companionÆs frail personality. ôStay with me, and while we make our way to the gems, let me teach you the Way of the True Warrior.ö

DracomonÆs eyes widened notoriously.

ôThe Wayàof the True Warriorà?ö

ôThatÆs what I said. So, shall we get going?ö

Upon making a hand sign, the troops standing nearby took to the gloomy jungle, quickly disappearing amidst the sea of trees and shadows ahead of Suzuka and Dracomon. The small Digimon was utterly impressed at how this human girl had the unwavering loyalty of so many Digimon.

ôYe-Yes! Suzuka-sama!ö

The girl smirked. She was really growing to like this æpartneringÆ thing.

**********

ôThat bitch!ö Kyouya howled while glaring at the obviously arrow-shaped mark carved on the tree in front of him. Dracomon was looking at it as well, trying to make any sense of it.

ôOf course!ö KyoÆs rant continued. ôWhy didnÆt I notice back then!?ö

There were only about ten PawnChessmon around when he left with Dracomon, and the Troopmon were not even around!

ôThe bitch sent them ahead to find the Blue-whatever!ö

ôDiamante,ö Dracomon finished.

Kyouya, however, was already planning. ôIt doesnÆt matter; we can move faster. LetÆs go, Dracomon!ö

ôUhh, sure.ö

***********

Some distance behind, Suzuka and Dracomon stood in front of a similar tree, sporting a similar arrow mark.

ôSupermarkets make money by selling shelf spaces to the different brands to place their products in.ö

Dracomon stood at attention at the sudden call. So far he had been bombarded with so many concepts and ideas that he would have developed a serious migraine if he were not so amazed by everything he had learned.

A methodology of combat beyond sheer physical might; that was SuzukaÆs ôWay of the True Warriorö. The very basics of strategic thought; so simple, yet so alien to most of the Digital Monsters. Dracomon listened and memorized, not yet sure of how to use that knowledge, but with the certainty that it was important for him to remember everything.

ôThe most expensive spaces are those at a height equivalent to the average adult humanÆs eye level, because it is easier for visitors to notice products placed in those spaces and thus more likely to purchase them.ö

ôHmmàwhatÆs a supermarket, Suzuka-sama?ö

The girl paused at that.

ôHmm. Wrong example, I guess. LetÆs seeàö

ôHumans, at least, usually tend to see only what they want to see. In other words, once they find what they wanted to see, their full attention falls on that one thing, to the point that everything else is mostly ignored.ö

ôBasically,ö she continued, crouching down to examine the base of the treeÆs trunk. ôOnce humans see what they want to see, theyÆll only look at that, even if that prevents them from looking at the real truth.ö

**********

ôAaargh, damn it!ö Kyouya growled. They were at the base of the hills, but he doubted the gems would just be laying around on the ground. There had to be a cave or something of the sort somewhere. ôAny luck, Dracomon?ö

ôHavenÆt found any more of those marks!ö

ôTch. What the hellà?ö

**********

Dracomon looked at what the girl was also looking at: a similar, arrow-shaped sign, pointing in a different direction. However, this one was not carved on the bark. Instead, it was made of strips ofàsomething. Whatever it was, it was firmly stuck to the tree and colored red somehow.

ôI knew the duct tape would come in handy, but who would have thought IÆd be using lipstick like this?ö

ôSuzuka-sama?ö

ôAh, nothing, nothing. LetÆs go, and make sure to look very carefully for more like this.ö

ôYes!ö

ôYou as well, PawnChessmons.ö

ôYes, General-sama!ö

**********

An hour or so later, Suzuka and Dracomon were walking up the slope of a small hill. Some hundred meters ahead, the rest of her troops stood in wait.

ôNow, if thereÆs something you should get out of this game, make it this.ö

ôThe True Warrior does not need to cheat, but excels at distracting his opponent.ö

ôThe True Warrior ignores his anxiety, and plays with his strategic resources to accomplish his objectives.ö

ôWhen he feels his strength is coming to its end, he makes the enemy think he is not in a hurry.ö

ôWhen he has to attack from the right, he moves his troops to the left.ö

ôWhen he intends to initiate hostilities immediately, he feigns sleepiness and pretends to ready himself for sleep.ö

After commanding the troops to stay on the stop instead of follow, girl and dragon stepped into a cave with a high ceiling. Suzuka guessed a truck would fit comfortably inside. It was disturbingly dark, but there was an eerie yet inviting blue luminescence coming from the cavernÆs depths.

ôHe will be called a coward. He will be called hopeless, careless, uninterested, prideless and dishonorable.ö

The cavern ended in a large, roughly circular chamber; far wider and taller than the passage they came from. Little light reached this deep into the rock, but what little made it was reflected and refracted countless times by the countless tiny crystals embedded against the rock walls and ceiling, creating an otherworldly mantle of light like fog.

DracomonÆs big pupils, too, reflected the beautiful blue aura of the chamber as he watched in amazement.

ôThe True Warrior always knows what he wants,ö Suzuka concluded. ôAnd he does not need to justify anything to anyone.ö

Dracomon exploded in glee.

ôBlue Diamante! We found it! ItÆs here!ö he exclaimed as he jumped all over the place, examining and sniffing the pale blue gems embedded on the rock walls. ôI canÆt believe it!ö

ôIs it really that unbelievable?ö Suzuka argued, as if bothered by the DigimonÆs choice of words. She shrugged and assumed an uncaring expression. ôIf itÆs for something as simple as finding these gems, this amount of success is possible for Matsushita Suzuka.ö

With that said, she turned towards the mouth of the corridor they had come from.

ôWhat do you think, Shiro-chan?ö

The man and his Digimon companion were panting some yards in front of her, hands on their knees as they glared at the victorious duo.

ôHate you,ö Kyo uttered between pants and wheezes. ôSo much.ö

Suzuka just smiled.

He'd almost died. It had literally been a last second thing when the bus had come careening after him that Kaji had been able to throw himself out of the way at all. His glare fell on the person who had been driving, which he doubted the boy even noticed.

At the same time more people filed out of the trains that had just come in, drawing his eye immediately to the two cosplayers looking around bewildered at the interior of the station.

However before Kaji could even make a snide comment the device started to sound up again. Alarmed he pulled it out quickly as he got to his feet again. He ignored the white dots he could only assume where the people around him and the giant red dots near the group he assumed were the demented looking trains, and dismissed the larger white dot moving further away as someone else who had ended up in a different location. Which naturally only left the small red dot speeding in towards their location.

'It's not green, but...' Grimacing he peered down the direction it was coming from. 'It's probably not too bad, the trains certainly aren't eating us, and it can't be too big either if I can't see it by now if it's already pretty close...'

He glanced down at the sonar screen again, and visibly jerked when he realized the red dot was already right next to him. "Fast." He muttered, twisting around, prepared for the worst, just as gasps from those around him reached his ears.

He came face to face with an eye. Or rather a hand which happened to have an eye. The creature's actual face was a simple mask with eye shapes painted on, so clearly the thing in its hand blinking at the boy was its actual eye. After a small moment the creatures face grew into a menacing grin.

"Humans!" It said, cackling with glee. The hand eye moved in order point itself at the device in Kaji's hand, just before it darted around far quicker than he was prepared for towards the others.

"No, CHOSEN!" It laughed again as the eye steadily moved down the line through each of them. "A little late for you to show up isn't it?"

The creature twisted around, gesturing at the completely ruined landscape as Kaji's eyes focused on him. The information display popped up again. "Dracmon." The other creature's name had followed a similar schematic. Was probably a running theme with them or something.

His eyes lingered past the creature's image to note that there was additional information also provided. He must have overlooked it before. 'Virus Attribute, Undead Type. That sounds swell... Something about it being a prankster and... attacks, lovely. Undead Fang and Eye of Nightmare.'

Glancing through the brief descriptions provided Kaji's face soured. 'If they're all like that, including that big one then I'm really in way over my head now.'

A shriek alerted him to attention. Apparently the creature had been occupied with the others in the group while he wasn't paying attention, and had climbed up onto the skimpier of the two female cosplayers and had started pulling on the back of her pitifully small shirt as if trying to rip it off.

Before the other cosplayer could deck it, the Dracmon jumped off, giggling madly.

"It's no use now anyway." It said laughing. "The dark chosen won, the Dark Ocean has started to break into this world. The Royal Knights can't come to save us and you chosen don't even have partners. How do you expect to save this world?"

The thing stuck his tongue out at the group, before pausing in thought. "Though if you're in need of a partner, maybe I could help..." Dracmon lifted his hand eye and pointed it right at the girl whose shirt he'd been trying to rip off. The attack description rang into his head again.

"Don't look at it, he has some kind of hypnosis ability with those eyes." Kaji said.

The creature's hand turned to him as he dashed forwards faster than the boy could follow, as the outbursts flew from the other people present. Kaji took a step back, the other attack description ringing in his head, unsure if he could possibly move out of the way in time.

It's eye starred at him, while Kaji directed his eyes purely at the creature's mask. Finally it broke out into its demented smile again. "STUPID!"

It moved again, jumping on top of one of the broken pillars before he got the chance to blink. "I'm not dumb enough to attack a tamer. I saw what happened when the Dark Chosen were in battle. I've got a full life of suffering ahead of me I need to live out." It stuck it's tongue out again. "Sides why would I want to partner up with one of you stupid humans anyway."

It jumped down off the pillar as it shrugged. "Only a truly desperate and stupid Digimon would want to be shackled up with some human." It's menacing grin widened. "Like those poor survivors up north a ways who got captured by the Dark Chosen's minions. Getting all caged up and prepared to be taken to the sea to be eaten once one of them shows up to upload them. I'd bet they'd take any chance to escape if someone came to save them."

He moved for the door as he kicked it open. "Then again it's probably smarter to just let them die. After all, every mon for himself." He said before bolting out, his laughter ringing around the station as he set off to likely cause more mischief.

"...Or maybe I just watch too much TV. There's no way this can be a Digivice, Digimon is a work of fiction, afterall. "

Sho was about to contemplate more on the situation, but when he felt the train start to slow down he quickly cut off his thoughts and looked out the closest window.

To say what he saw was surprising would be an understatement.

The familiar city landscape he was used to was replaced by ruins. Ruins of unfamiliar buildings, he wasn't an expert on architecture, but he was fairly certain that what was left of these buildings did not come from Tokyo. As the train slowed down more, he was able to take in more details. Some of the buildings were toppled over, others had suffered varying degrees of damage. And above all, the buildings themselves seemed so... lifeless. When Sho looked at the landscape as a whole, he thought, "It's like someone removed all the color from this place."

As Sho pinched himself on the cheek to confirm that, no, it was not a dream, the train slowly grinded to a halt, and the doors opened.

Sho quickly shook himself out of his stupor and cautiously moved towards to opened door. As he stood in the doorway, he looked at the surronding area. As expected, he was still surronded by ruins; what attracted his curiousity was the place the train stopped at.

A train station, though it was in poor condition, it was still able to serve its purpose; however, that was not what Sho found interesting. What he was looking at were the other trains that stopped at the station. The trains themselves were strange looking, but Sho wasn't paying attention to their design.

"Maybe there's other people around in the same situation as I am! Well, either way, there's not much point in staying inside here."

As he stepped off the train, Sho quickly patted himself down, to make sure he didn't leave anything behind... a habit he formed in grade school, where he kept dropping things out of his pockets.

"Let's see: Keys, check. Wallet, check. Cellphone... Oh, right."

Sho turned his attention back to the device. After flipping open the cover and presing a few buttons experimentally, he managed to access what appeared to be a list of functions.

"Synchro Rate: Unavailable. Partner Status: Unavailable... was I actually right? Maybe this really is a Digivice. I can't seem to use most of the functions though... Ah, this one should work!"

Once the Map function was selected, a large circular map sprung from the screen, as though it were a holographic projection. Within the map, Sho could see several white dots towards the top and a red dot quickly moving off screen.

"...things are getting stranger and stranger by the second. Better get moving though, if I want to find out what's going on, I have to find some other people."

Sho started to walk towards the direction of the white dots on his map.

The weird creature exited and Hachi zipped up her pitiful jacket, still feeling the eyes on the hands of that monster clown. This day was turning worse then worse. A new boy that looked barely older then her stood, looking at the duo of Hachi and Saishu curiously.

"I was just violated," Hachi muttered pitifully, ignoring the new boy.

Saishu put a hand to his face, "That's what you're worrying about?"

"I was violated!"

"Barely touched."

"Violated!"

Saishu continued to rub his forehead, "Whatever, can we focus our attention back on the fact that there was some weird devil clown thing that just appeared." Not the fact that it may or may not have violated you?"

"Fine," Hachi sighed defeated.

Saishu turned his attention to the new boy, "Is it just you?"

The boy nodded curtly. He examined the duo once more, "So is it just you two girls wandering around here?"

RAGE!

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME!" Saishu screamed in outrage.

My fists was in the full, upright and shaking position, my right eye was twitching furiously.

*These thoughts have been censored, please be assured, if Saishu had a Partner, it would Dark Evolve straight to Ultimate level and kill them all.*

"Do you have to be so loud?" The jack ass has the GALL to-

I fired a rapid punch straight into his Fac-

*Boing*

"Wha-" Was all I managed to get out.

*WHAM*

"Watch it kid!"

I slammed into the train that had been a few feet behind me.

I bounced hard off the train, landed unsteadily on my feet and stumbled forward a few shaky steps, reaching up to clutch my aching head.

"What the fuck..." I looked at the jackass, he actually looked surprise, I didn't let that stop me, "Are you a Wizard or something?"

"He is the great and mighty Wizard of Oz!" I turned and saw the guy who had screamed, he was over near some kind of bus, The hell did that come from?, he looked distinctly like a Gaijin.

"Bow before him!" he finished, I might have had a concussion, so I don't know if he was actually yelling that or my head actually hurt that much.

I get the feeling that I am going to regret answering that phone call for the rest of my life.

Wait, did the train just talk?

Yep, really gonna hate this place...

SuzukaÆs and KyoÆs Prologue û Part V

ôLet there be no doubt that this is our victory, Shiro-chan,ö Suzuka declared as she examined the glinting blue gems poking out of the walls of the dome-shaped cavern.

ôYeah, yeah, whatever. And donÆt call me Shiro-chan!ö

ôThen Minion One.ö

ôThatÆs even worse!ö

ôNoàno way!ö KyouyaÆs companion did not appear to be satisfied by the result and the sight of the other Dracomon jumping around in joy. ôWho-Who cares if they made it first? We can beat them!ö

That did alert SuzukaÆs ingoing companion, who went stiff and took a defensive posture as he stared at his counterpart from a distance. Still, the distance he had put between himself and Suzuka placed him at a severe disadvantage if the other Dracomon chose to attack the human.

ôOh, yes, if Shiro-chan and you attack us, weÆre toast,ö Suzuka admitted matter-of-factly. ôBut I expect my minion to be better than that.ö

ôTch.ö

ôWha-What does she mean?ö

ôStop stammering like that, itÆs fucking annoying,ö Kyo muttered. He had a grin, though, as he looked down at the holographic projection displayed by his Digivice. ôBesides, it should be here in 5à4à3à2à1àö

Suzuka frowned. ôWhat do you meanùô

And that was when the rock wall behind her exploded as a huge roaring beast stomped his way into the natural chamber. Suzuka turned around to find a wall of thick black and gray reptile skin.

ôOkay, I deserved that.ö

Fortunately, standing right next to the large Digimon meant it could not see her. Instead, its attention fell on her Dracomon companion at the far end of the room. A single black horn the size of a claymore glowed on the tip of its muzzle.

ôGuardi Tusk!ö

Dracomon was at least fast enough to jump out of the way in the time it took the quadruped beast to charge across the chamber, and the whole cave system trembled when the giant tusk buried itself to the base in the rock.

ôAlright, guys, weÆre not fighting that thing in closed quarters; everybody, out, out, out,ö Suzuka called out as she made her merry way out of the chamber and towards the caveÆs entrance. It was something between walking and jogging, the speed at which she moved. ôDracomon, cover our exit, okay?ö

ôEh!? Me!?ö the shy little Dracomon who was already making his way to SuzukaÆs side stopped in his tracks.

Suzuka rolled her eyes. ôWell do you see any other Draàö

She paused. Kyouya raised an eyebrow.

ôàjust do it.ö

ôTch, IÆm going too!ö the louder Dracomon stepped forward. ôThis Blue Diamante is mine!ö

ôNo, it is not,ö Suzuka promptly corrected.

ôShut up, human!ö

ôSeriously,ö the girl mumbled as she walked away from the dangerous newcomer. ôIÆm done training the boy and now I have to train the Digimonàö

ôYou havenÆt trained anyone!ö Kyouya quickly spat before turning his attention to the image of the enemy Digimon projected by his D-Synchro. ôMonochromon, an Ankylosaur Digimon of the Adult Level, Data Type. Special attacksàVolcano Fire, Grand Fire and Guardy Tusk.ö Pocketing the device, Kyouya clasped his hands together. ôLooks nasty. Alright, IÆm goingùwhaùwhoa, whoa, what theù!ö

The tall, light-haired boy complained while Suzuka pulled him along by the neck of his shirt.

ôDonÆt be silly, Shiro-chan; leave the fighting to the monsters.ö

ôWhaùno! Damn it, let me carve something!ö

ôYou can dig a trench at the beach when weÆre done~ö

ôFuck you!ö

ôBut we havenÆt even gone on a date~ö

At the cave entrance, the Troopmon and PawnChessmon had assembled themselves into a U-shape from side to side of the caveÆs mouth, obviously alerted by the sounds coming from within.

ôAlright everyone!ö Suzuka immediately addressed the relatively large group. ôSplit into equal halves and step aside! When the big bad dinosaur comes out, you guys get in there and collect those lovely gems!ö

ôWhat!?ö Kyo obviously exploded. At the same time, an explosion rocked the interior of the cave and a gust of hot air breezed out of the cave mouth. ôCollect the gemsùWhy donÆt you send them to fight that thing!?ö

ôItÆs a long-term investment, Shiro-chan; long-term investment,ö Suzuka responded with her usual unfaltering calmness.

The slightly unhinged boy glared at the twin-tailed girl.

ôàyouÆre just a greedy bitch, arenÆt ya?ö

Suzuka returned his glare with a close-eyed smile.

ôLong-term investment~ö

Inside the cave, the two Dracomon were in a bit of a tough spot.

ôBaby Breath!ö

ôVolcano Strike!ö

The smaller flame was consumed by the much, much, much larger ball of flame before it exploded halfway between the two enemies, sending the smaller Child Digimon flying to the nearest rock wall.

ôIdiot!ö the rowdier Dracomon shouted. ôWhat made you think fire will do anything to this guy!?ö

ôUghàso-sorryàö

ôDonÆt be sorry, just fight!ö

ôGuardy Tusk!ö

ôWhoa!ö

The loud Dracomon jumped out of the way, and the cave trembled again.

ôTch, we canÆt fight here; the whole place will fall on our heads!ö

Monochromon turned away from the wall, his mouth leaking tongues of flame as it glared at the two small dragons.

ôGrand Fire!ö

ôJump!ö

They did exactly that, jumping and flapping their tiny wings as quickly as they could, pushing themselves upwards to avoid the ground-locked wave of flame that washed the entire chamber. It was the same Dracomon who made the alarm who noticed Monochromon intended to ram them as they were airborne.

ôTch!ö

ôGuardy Tusk!ö

ôTail Smash!ö

Of course, the smaller creature with less momentum lost the clash of powers, but at least it only ended up embedded on the wall instead of impaled in the dinosaur DigimonÆs horn.

ôTail Smash!ö

The other Dracomon smacked the side of MonochromonÆs face, annoying the Digimon but inflicting no substantial damage. He then flew away from the huge horn, and quickly dropped to the ground to avoid being smacked by MonochromonÆs tail.

ôBaby Breath!ö

The stream of flames hit the softer skin on the underside of the Adult DigimonÆs tail, causing it to howl in pain.

ôLetÆsàget out of here!ö KyouyaÆs Dracomon companion, who had lodged itself out of the cave wall, yelled urgently as he took flight. The two small dragons quickly went into the path leading outside, and the large dinosaur Digimon followed. However, Monochromon never intended for the twin dragons to leave the cave.

ôGrand Fire!ö

The wave of flames covered not only the ground, but crept up the walls and traversed the ceiling as well, converting the passage into a tunnel of flame and forcing the two Digimon to stay close to the center.

ôGuardy Tusk!ö

SuzukaÆs eyes followed the two Dracomon as they were blown out of the cave, sliding on the ground all the way to the edge of the hill road.

ôShit!ö Kyouya cursed before leaping to catch the two little dragons before they fell off the side of the hill. The combined weight of the Dracomon pushed him backwards to the point that they almost fell anyway.

Monodramon roared, and SuzukaÆs troops did as commanded, stepping into the cavern where the flames were already disappearing and ignoring the rampaging beast.

ôYou idiot!ö Kyo roared at the sight of the troops disappearing in the depths of the hill. ôCall them back!ö

But Suzuka only had eyes for the enormous quadruped figure of Monochromon, who also happened to have his attention on her small, frilly form.

ôWell, this is not good. And I never got back my duct tape.ö

With her back to the cliff side and a rampaging Digimon in front of her, the girl was pretty much out of options.

ôGAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!ö

Even Monochromon was distracted by the sudden, unexpected and very loud roar of raw fury.

ôGODDAMN IDIOT IDOOOOOOOOOOOOL!ö

After a running start, Kyouya jumped smoothly from the ground to the dinousaurÆs knee, from there to the bumps on his crested neck and from there he landed sitting on the crown of his head, clawed hand held high.

ôBefore I get my payback, youÆre not allowed to diiiiiiiieeee!ö the furious boy roared before burying his metal claws in MonochromonÆs right eye.

The dinosaur Digimon howled and raged on the spot, but KyouyaÆs hold was strong, powered by his many dark, swirling emotions.

ôBefore I make you experience the truest terror, youÆre not allowed to diiiiiiiiieeeee!ö

The second eye was impaled, imprisoning Monochromon in complete darkness. The beast stumbled like a drunkard, swaying from side to side but still strong; a cornered animal driven by a strong survival instinct.

ôTail Smash!ö

The same Dracomon who had accompanied Kyo all this time struck the dinosaurÆs face like his twin had before. The impact, while not particularly harmful, attracted MonochromonÆs attention, and the horned Digimon wildly slashed around with its bladed appendage, hoping to strike anything. Dracomon instead flew backwards, towards the cliff edge he had almost fallen off; firing Baby Breath attacks one after another, all of them striking MonochromonÆs face. Noticing he was in a dangerous line of fire, Kyouya jumped off the black and grey beast.

Guided by the direction of the impacts, Monochromon charged forward towards the attacking Dracomon, who flew over the dinousaurÆs body, interrupting the attack. Monochromon was aware of the cliffÆs edge in that direction and stopped in time, but Dracomon had other plans. Reaching for single unique scale on the underside of his jaw, the small dragon summoned his greatest power. His scarlet horns glowed with mystical energy, and the raw energy wielded only by the most ancient of mythical beasts coalesced in his mouth.

ôG Shurunen!ö

The narrow beam of concentrated energy struck the right side of MonochromonÆs back with considerably more power than any of either DracomonÆs earlier attacks. The impact force was enough to make the last push over the edge, and the huge horned beast fell the approximately 200 meters to the ground at the base of the hill, howling all the way.

Several pairs of eyes followed Dracomon as he jumped after the fallen hulk. In free-fall, the tiny dragon spun several times to gain rotational momentum.

ôTail Smash!ö

The blind Digimon, who was struggling to get back on his feet after the terrible impact with the ground, took yet another terrible impact, this time on the back of his neck. He made no sound, being denied even one last sound before it dispersed into loose data, which was promptly drawn towards DracomonÆs body.

ôHmmàö Kyouya uttered as he watched the scene from above. ôSo you guys eat the data of other Digimon you kill. Interesting.ö

ôFair enough,ö Suzuka commented, having at some point walked over to where Kyouya stood watching. ôYour dragon gets the data, we get the gems. How about that, buddy?ö

The second Dracomon, who had only watched the second half of the fight in quiet amazement, could only nod dumbly as he grinned.

ôOooooooi!ö

Kyouya snorted at the sight of the grinning victor, waving at the boy almost two hundred meters up and flying excitedly after his meal.

ôAnd it seems you might have impressed him a little,ö Suzuka completed. A beeping drew Kyouya to take out his D-Synchro, and pressing a glowing button revealed a new screen.

Partner Status û Dracomon
Synchro Rate û 37%

It was followed by a comprehensive set of stats the two humans still could not make sense of.

ôàinteresting,ö Kyouya admitted. ôSeems like I got a decent partner, after all.ö

ôHmmàand I got to hear what you were up to, in the end.ö

Kyouya showed no outward reaction. Suzuka did not even bother looking at him, instead watching the bleak scenery of the colorless island from their vantage point.

ôàyou might have even made my heart beat faster. Just a little, though. Maybe, if itÆs you, then, dyingàö

The girl said no more, leaving Kyouya to watch her back as she walked back into the cave to check the gem harvesting procedures.

Shin looked out of the entrance, (or exit as the case was.) What ever he had been expecting to see it wasn't what he was seeing. In front of him was a city that looked like it had seen battle and lots of it. Buildings that had holes in them, pot holes that looked big enough to drive a truck into. Inwardly shivering, Shin was about to walk into the city proper When he heard two loud voices.

As Shin continued to move through the train station the voices continuted to get louder and more defined. At this point he could tell that one of the voices was male and if he had to guess as angry as hell. As he walked he decided to fool with his D- synchro As he scrolled through the various options (some of which werenÆt working) eventually he came upon what looked like a map function that at the moment was showing him what he could only assume was the train station. It also showed him a number of markers each white. After some more checking he noticed that there were four white markers and a handful of red markers that were close to his own marker.

After a little bit of walking and following the map he came found himself in the same location as two of the white dots. Where the were on the map was occupied by a boy and a girl that looked to be around his age. (though the girl looked a little bit younger) Not knowing what else to say he place his broom shaft at his side and said ô Hi my name is Shinö

"Okay, I'm getting close, should be a few more meters until I reach whatever those white dots ar-"

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME!", A voice cried out in outrage as Sho approached the trains.

"...well, at least it sounds human.", thought Sho nervously.

When he reached the train, he put his back against its side and carefully peered around the edge...

*WHAM*

...just in time to see a blur of white slam into the train.

"Watch it kid!"

Sho suddenly jumped back, not so much startled at the voice, but rather at where the voice came from.

"It came FROM the train itself! But that's impossible, unless..."

Turning off the map and going back to the functions list, Sho quickly looked through the list and found something that matched what he needed:

Database Scan.

With the option selected, Sho held up his device up towards the 'train'.

Once again, a circular holographic display popped up. This time however, it displayed far more than a simple map with colored dots on it. Within the circle:

"Trailmon, Adult-level, Data-Type. They traverse the Digital World along sets of track and transport both humans and Digimon. It's attacks are: Cool Running, and Kyuu Break Spark."

Sho read aloud the information on (what he now confirmed was) his Digivice.

"A Digimon... Then does this mean-!"

He quickly moved up the train station, ignoring the cosplayers, the brown hair guy, the guy with a stick, and the guy by the bus... normally, he would have stopped and just stared at the scene, but now he had to confirm something...the fact that Sho thought they were weirdos had nothing to do with it at all, oh no!

The train did not look much different from the ones he usually rode... until he reached the front. There, sitting on the side was a giant (to Sho, at least) eye. Sho assumed that there was another eye on the other side.

Looking back towards the display, Sho confirmed that this 'train' was indeed...

"umm... Trailmon?" started Sho nervously.

"Yeah?"

Taken back by a response he only half expected, and the fact (he only now just realized) that he was talking to an actual Digimon, Sho suddenly found the question he was going to ask stuck in his throat.

"Uh-er... ah."

"Look kid, I haven't got all day! Just spit it out."

"Ah right, er...are we..actually in the Digital World!?"

Trailmon's eye quickly shifted. It was now looking directly at Sho. Taken back by the sudden movement, Sho yelped and jumped back.

For a few moments, there was silence. Then, after what felt like an eternity to Sho, Trailmon answered:

"Yep."

In a darkly lit room resides a huge chessboard, covered in variously colored pieces, but for the moment the most important ones are black and white. The Black Chess master frowns at the White pieces.

"You're taking too long. I might as well help speed things up."

The Black Chess Master smiles and places a Black Pawn on the board next to the white pawns.

"Your Move"

Several Hours of searching the city and having nothing turn up for Tk and Monodramon, they decided to take a break and sit on the only undestroyed and ruined bench they could find somewhere near what used to be the city's park.

"Well Monodramon...There's nothing here I guess..." Tk said as he stared into the sky, his hand reaching for his digivice in his pocket.

"Well it looks like this city has been abandoned for years Tk. I wonder what happend." Monodramon said as he watched Tk futz around with the digivice. "What is that thing anyway Tk? I've seen you pull it out and play with it several times, but I still don't know what it is."

"Well Monodramon, this is a digivice. It...signifies the bound between you and me, Monodramon. It shows that you and I are meant to be together and fight as one..." Tk said as he turned to Monodramon and smiled at him.

"That's awesome, but...what do those black and white dots mean?" Monodramon said as he pointed to the map on the screen of the digivice.

"What...Holy shit! We got a reaction...We gotta go check this out Monodramon!" Tk said as he got and began to run quickly towards the direction the map was indicating.

"Wait for me Tk!" Monodramon said as he ran as quickly as his short legs would let him. "What if it's a trap?"

"We'll have to take that chance Monodramon! It could be either good or bad, but at least we know that there is some else here!" Tk yelled back to his partner as he increased the pace his jacket flapping in the wind as he slowly made his way back to the station.

Minutes later, Tk and Monodramon arrived at the station, Tk panted as he scanned around the station looking for any signs of life.

"See anything Monodramon?" Tk said as he turned towards his still scanning partner.

"No I-Yeah! Over there by the tracks!" Monodramon said as he pointed towards the small group of humans by the tracks.

"Let's go greet them then Monodramon." Tk said as he started towards that direction

"Hrmm? What's that smell?" Monodramon said as he stopped and began to sniff the air before he tensed, his claws spread apart, his eyes glaring off to the left of the group of humans. "I smell an enemy Tk!"

"Really? Where?" Tk said as he looked in the direction his partner was looking, but still not seeing anything. "Let's get closer then Monodramon."

Monodramon nodded and followed Tk towards the group by the tracks, his eyes still trained on the direction he was looking in, his body ready to attack if the chance permitted it.

"Hey! You guys!" Tk yelled towards the group of humans hoping to catch their attention.

Ryan spots something out of the corner of his eye. A vaguely humanoid shape that disappears behind some of the rubble.

"Hmm"

"I'm glad I found you guys...I thought I was alone for a while." Tk said as he approached the group, Monodramon behind him still staring in the direction of the rubble.

"Still there boy?"

"Yeah...I don't know what it is, but...it's still there.." Monodramon basically growled as he prepared to pounce on the opponent.

Noticing the brown-haired boy reaching into his pocket, Tk waited quietly to see what would come up.

'Let's be smart about this...We can't just rush in...We don't know what we're up against.' Tk thought quietly, his own hand slipping into his pocket, his finger tips brushing against the digivice. 'Let's hope we can win this Monodramon...'

"This is stupid!" Roared Yoshi in the cracked streets of the ruined city he had found himself in. "LIKE THE HELL THIS KIND OF SITUATION AS JUST FREAKING HAPPEN JUST LIKE THIS!"

Yoshi then proceeded to let out a string of repetitions of every swear and cuss-word he knew. Venting one's anger was alway a good way to calm down, especially when one was in another world of sorts.

Finally, Yoshi's breath ran out as his rage-induced swearing marathon came to an end, "Heh, I feel better already."

Yoshi took out the device that had replaced his cellphone and began to examine it more throughly.

"Hmm, there seems to be a whole bunch of functions here. Meh, I'll look at them later." Yoshi scanned his immediate surroundings. With a confidence that could easily be switched out for recklessness, Yoshi pointed in a random direction away from the train station, "First objective! Find someone or somethign that can tall me more about this place!"

With those words in mind, Yoshi walked leisurely at his own pace in the direction he had arbitrarily chosen out of boldness. Maybe he would find something of interest that way.

Himeko groaned even as one of her hands groggily started swatting to the side until it made contact with the offending alarm clock. Then she pressed a button, silencing the beastly device. Still, it had done its intended job as she blurrily stumbled out of bed, moving towards the bathroom and beginning her daily routine.

Brushing her teeth. Bathing. Changing clothes. Organizing her backpack. Going down the stairs to eat breakfast. Routine. Like clockwork. It felt like she was just walking through a dream, so little thought was put into the process.

"Good morning, Himeko," Takeru greeted from the breakfast table as she passed the entrance hall and came into view, his mouth partially filled with the remains of breakfast, giving her an unhealthy preview.

As she got closer, her father came into view second, particularly once he peeked around his newspaper, bringing it down a bit so he could see her following Takeru's greeting. He added a second greeting of his own, which was followed by a third from her stepmother as the woman placed a plate for her on the table before heading back to the kitchen area.

"Morning, daddy," she returned the greeting with a kiss to the cheek, before turning to the others. "Morning, Takeru. Morning, Mikoto."

Her stepmother's smile seemed to weaken a bit, and a brief guilty flash ran through her as she sat at the table in her spot. Mikoto gave an understanding nod though, which made her feel better.

Himeko liked her honestly, Mikoto was nice and she knew how to keep her stepbrother in check. They both got along well, and it was nice to have another woman in the house she could rely on. But even after all this time, she wasn't quite ready to call her mother yet.

As all four of them sat at the table together, breakfast went on, quietly... as normal.

"H-help me..."

...as normal?

Himeko raised her head, and noticed everyone was looking behind her, staring in surprise. What was grabbing their attention? Who was it? The voice, it was so desperate.

"H-himeko...help me..."

She turned to look.

***

Her eyes opened again, staring at the vast endless sky above her. An unfamiliar sky, darkened by clouds, looking as if it was threatening to rain any minute now and the air felt almost dead, like it was missing something vital to give it life.

It was a very confusing sight and sensation to awaken to. Hadn't she doing something else just now? How had she gotten here? where was here for that matter?

She turned her head to the left, but saw nothing she recognized, just damaged tiles and concrete and twisted, broken support beams. She turned her head to the right, but was greeted with much the same. It looked like she was on a roof?

But that wasn't right? Was it?

She placed a palm against her forehead, trying to alleviate the forming headache she was feeling from trying to make sense of things. It didn't do much, but it did let her focus a bit as she strained to recall things. She had been...having breakfast? With her family?

It was feeling like a really faint memory, vanishing into the passage of time. Like it was just...a dream. A dream, that must have been what that was.

She vanished vague recollections of that sad winged creature pressing itself desperately against the television screen, static distorting it's appearance as it tried to reach for her. Yes...just a dream.

She focused her memory more. She -had- been in a roof. But this still wasn't right. It had been the school's roof, not this... place. Was she still dreaming?

She tried to slowly stand, using her elbows as support as she pushed herself up, wincing as her headache transformed into a minor wave of vertigo that overtook her, and her hands covered her mouth, lest she feel like vomiting.

Okay, this probably wasn't a dream if she was feeling like this. Dreams weren't supposed to feel so real....she was panicking. Panic wasn't good, it made you stupid and nobody paid attention to panicky people, but there wasn't anyone to watch her panic, but oh god she was alone, where was she, what was going on, what...

She closed her eyes and tried to push away the flood of uncontrolled thoughts. Instead, she began to count numbers. Starting from one thousand one, she went upwards, counting her troubled thoughts away.

One thousand one.

One thousand two.

One thousand three...

She continued doing this, just trying to calm herself and center herself, until she felt a little better.

One thousand sixty five.

One thousand sixty six.

...One thousand sixty seven.

She opened her eyes, and pulled both her hands away from her lips, allowing a sigh to escape. Turning her head around the area, she looked at what was around her in more detail, her eyes skipping over her crumpled backpack and settling on the strange device that had once been her cellphone. She remembered now.

Would you save this world?

The text message.

Playing along, she typed in "Sure, why not", a lazy uncertain reply but still affirmative, and sent the reply message off as she flipped the lid close again.

Her answer.

The cellphone glowing.

The change, like magic.

Being picked up by the wind.

Trying desperately to get back on the ground.

Flailing, her hand hooking around her backpack.

Streams of numbers and screens, sights and sounds that made no sense.

...Darkness.

Yes, she remembered.

Standing up and dusting her clothes, she leaned down to pick up the troubling device, then moved closer to the edge of the roof, trying to locate herself. Unfortunately, no such thing was possible with such an unfamiliar landscape greeting her.

Ruins. Demolished buildings. An abandoned city, with no hope in its future. It wasn't just the sky that felt a little dead, the whole place was like that, all the colors dull, dark and lifeless. It was heartbreaking.

Would you save this world?

She shivered and rubbed her arms together as she looked away, turning and moving away from the edge.

Her eyes focused downward as she stared at the device that started this all.

"I think I'm a little late for saving this place..." Himeko whispered outloud, feeling lost and alone. Even moreso when she once again realized that there was no one to reply back.

***

It took a little longer to pull herself together after seeing that desolate landscape, but once she did, she quickly sought shelter inside the building itself, leaving the roof and settling down on the stairwell leading downward. The sky still looked like it might rain any minute now anyhow, and she had no desire to be drenched on top of all things that were going on.

Of course, the building's inside wasn't very hope inspiring either, and did little to make her feel much safer. But what little comfort it gave was better than the roof.

She tried not to dwell on it, as she messed around with her backpack, searching for anything useful within. There wasn't anything of course, besides crumpled books and notes and some general school supplies. Why would she have carried anything to take with her on a trip to...wherever she was?

So next was the purple device that had been her cellphone once. Her finger circled over the lid for a while, which she'd earlier closed. Finally she flipped it open, and a thrill ran through her at the familiar feeling from her habit of flipping her cellphone's lid open and close repeatedly. She gave a brief silent thank to whomever had transformed her cellphone for at least leaving her that much comfort.

Examining it showed that the number pad was gone, replaced by a smaller set of buttons and one larger button with a curious symbol atop it. The symbol probably meant something important, but she was unsure what it might mean, and the device itself gave no hints as to its function.

With no user manual around, she did the only thing she could have. She started mashing buttons, and trying to figure the device out through trial and error.

***

"D-Synchro, eh?" Himeko muttered. The device hadn't given her much information to work with, but it had been surprisingly easy to fiddle with the device and at least find out what it was called and a few of it's functions. Most of them confused her though, such as the things about partners, synchro rates and digimon. There were quite a few things about digimon that didn't make sense, really.

Perhaps the worst part of it all was that nagging feeling that the 'digimon' term felt familiar to her, like she should know it from some place. She wasn't sure just where from though, especially when considering the level of technology in the device.

Case in point, a holographic map of what could only be the city was floating above the device, displaying one lone white dot in the center. It was certainly the most useful feature she'd found so far, even if there didn't seem to be any signs of life nearby besides herself. But the city had looked like it had been a vast metropolis, and she held out hope that someone else was out there somewhere. That texting feature in particular gave her hope for that, even though there was no one to text right now.

"Save the world, huh?" Himeko mused as she stared away from the d-synchro and down the stairwell. "Can't do much about that just sitting here...now can I?"

She looked down at the d-synchro once more and her grip on it tightened as she slapped her other hand on her knee and stood up. Slinging her backpack around one shoulder, she began the climb down to the ground level. Nothing to do but to wander until she either found someone else...or something else. She very much hoped for the former.

"H-himeko...help me..."

She shook her head as the voice from her dream wormed it's way back into her thoughts, trying to clear the thought away as she bit the bottom of her lip while she walked aimlessly.

Yeah.

The former was what she hoped for...

Quickly pulling his orange and white Digivice out of his pocket, flicking the screen open, and turning towards his partner

"Ok then Monodramon...Get'im." Tk said with a small smirk on his face as he gave a shrug in the general direction Monodramon was facing in.

Monodramon let out a sharp roar as he rushed in quickly towards the digimon he knew was there.

"Shadow Burst Wing!" Monodramon said as the wings on his body grew black before he jumped into the air releasing the energy in 2 arcs straight into the wall destroying it revealing the monster behind it.

Holding up his Digivice up, Tk quickly scanned the digimon.

"Troopmon. Undead Digimon. ....type unknown? No further data known? The hell type of digimon is this?" Tk said as he looked at the digimon in the suit in question.

"Splendid Attack!" Troopmon yelled as it helds it hands up into the air, its fingertips pointing towards Monodramon as fire was expelled from the tips blasting Monodramon with it, knocking him towards the ground.

Monodramon groaned quietly as he slowly got up. Shaking his head clear, Monodramon charged once again, this time barring its fangs.

"Crack Bite!" Monodramon roared as he bit into the arm of the Troopmon he had been fighting.

Roaring in pain, Troopmon shook its arm trying to throw the digimon off. After a few shakes Troopmon succeded with Monodramon landing on his butt a few feet away with a grin on its face.

"It's over. I won." Monodramon said as he stood to his feet.

The bite wound left on Troopmon's arm seemed to -twitching- before it started to slowly disentegrate away leaving a round hole where Monodramon had bitten.

The Troopmon stopped and stared at its wound before it exploded launching a yellow gas into the air while pieces of rubber fell down to the ground.

"That...was weird...I've never seen that type of Digimon before...I wonder what it was really for." Tk said as he turned towards the group of people behind him. "So...How you guy's doin'?"

Tk never noticed on his screen that his Digivice displayed "Synchro Rate: 36%"

SuzukaÆs and KyoÆs Prologue û Part VI

The group had once again gotten on the move after that little skirmish with the Monochromon. The next destination was their primary base of operations established by their 'sponsor', who had directly uploaded a map file into their D-Synchros.

Unfortunately, they would not be able to get any further information on this Pride character as the connection was immediately cut off once the map file was loaded.

"You know, I wonder what exactly can we get with those gems," said Suzuka to herself. "I do want to keep a few for myself. They would make good earrings. Or maybe a necklace? What do you think, Dracomon?"

Her partner stammered a little. "Thi-this Dracomon thinks that anything would suit Suzuka-sama..."

This earned a small irritated sigh from Kyouya. "Long-term investment into jewelry... why am I not surprised?"

"You have your little accessory so you're not exactly in a position to judge me, Shiro-chan."

"Yeah but it actually has some uses besides looking nice on my hand," retorted the boy. "All your jewelry would do is make you a target for any Digimon thieves."

"But I got Shiro-chan to protect me, right?" said Suzuka with that million watt smile. Of course, it didn't have that much of an effect on Kyouya compared to the reaction she would have gotten from her fans or her own Dracomon.

"You got your Dracomon and the Troopmon army. What would you need me for? Besides, I'm sure you heard my little declaration back there."

"That I won't be allowed to die until you have gotten payback?" She giggled slightly. "At least you're honest about that."

"So why...?" He was honestly just a bit puzzled on how she still seems to be so comfortable around him.

Suzuka paused for a moment before turning back to the boy. "First, as your mistress, I encourage that all of my minions set long-term goals for themselves. If you need advice, I shall be happy to provide it!"

Kyouya immediately formed a scowl on his face. "Oh, lord... I already hear enough of that shit from my guidance counselor."

"And second..." The young idol leaned dangerously close to the boy. With his personal space being invaded by her, he could practically feel her warm breath on his cheeks. "... you are familiar with the idea of 'keeping your friends close and your enemies even closer?'"

The boy found that he couldn't move his body as he was paralyzed by the sheer riddle that was Matsushita Suzuka.

Dammit... why can't I push her away?! What's she doing to me?!

"Because I'm so generous, I'll leave you with this piece of advice: treachery requires no mistakes."

And all of a sudden, the pressure seemed to lift itself off as she moved back and gave Kyouya a warm smile.

"Once this game has been completed, I sincerely hope that you can bring me a worthwhile challenge, Shiro-chan!" With that, she turned her back to the boy and made a fist pump. ôAnd now, to the train! Onwards ho!ö

ôH-Hoàö Her Dracomon companion repeated in a much quieter tone. The second Dracomon, walking by KyouyaÆs side, grimaced at the strange duo in front of him.

ôOi, Kyoàis that human really strong?ö

ôUghàö That was the best answer he could come with.

*************

ôUhhàShiro-chanàö

ôDonÆt ask me; IÆm as lost as you are.ö

Suzuka then turned to her troops.

ôàdid the train always look like that?ö

ôLike what, milady?ö one of the Troopmon inquired.

ôIt has a fucking face!ö Kyo responded instead.

ôHey!ö a booming voice barked out. ôYou donÆt hear me saying anything about YOUR face!ö

ôOhàö Suzuka uttered, glancing down at her D-Synchro. ôTrailmon, a Machine Digimon in the Adult Level, Data Type. Special attacksàhuh. Nothing there. Oh well, itÆs a train, itÆs not meant to fight.ö

ôYou got that right, little miss.ö

Suzuka giggled. ôEverything must be little to you, good sir. I presume you will give us a ride again?ö

ôSure thing,ö the copper-shaped vehicle agreed. ôEveryone get in; next stop: The Citadel.ö

ôOoh, the citadel! That sounds interesting,ö the giddy-sounding idol opinioned as she walked over to the door.

ôNo, no, no, little miss, itÆs The Citadel. You gotta pronounce the capitals!ö

ôOh, I see, I seeàthat makes sense.ö

ôHow exactly!?ö Kyo quickly retorted, and Suzuka squealed in delight.

ôGreat reaction, Shiro-chan! I knew IÆd made a great minion of you!ö She nodded proudly. ôAnd in less than twelve hours, even. Damn, IÆm good.ö

ôShut up!ö

**************

ôSo, according to Pride-sanÆs instructions, weÆre supposed toàummàö She read the written instructions delivered to her D-Synchro, as projected by the holographic screen. ôàspread the darkness throughout the Digital World.ö

Kyo nodded. ôDoesnÆt that make us the bad guys?ö

ôYup! IsnÆt it exciting? I was sick and tired of always playing the hero in role-playing games.ö

ôOhàkaaaay.ö

ôItÆs also suggested here to unlock all the functions of our Digivices.ö

They had time while the roving train took them to wherever it was they had to go, and it did not really take that long for them to find a most interesting feature of their Digivices.

ôPartner Mods, huhàö Suzuka muttered, examining the list of possible picks. ôWe can only pick three, and they are not exchangeable once theyÆre selected.ö

ôAlrightàö Kyouya spoke with a voice dripping with greed. ôSo Power itùOW!ö He immediately glared at the girl. ôDid you just slap my hand!?ö

ôThatÆs what naughty boys get when they do stupid things,ö the girl explained. ôMake your picks after thinking things thoroughly! I expect better from the one whoÆs going to kill me!ö

ôYouÆre killing the thrill out of that! Stop it!ö

It was aàstrange beginning, but it worked out somewhat for these two. They were not really a ôteamö, but they were together in this game, for good or ill.

ôI think I can see land again, Suzuka-sama!ö

ôGood!ö the ever-exuberant girl exclaimed as she jumped off her seat inside the Trailmon. ôWell, Dracomon, I hope youÆre ready for whatÆs coming.ö

The small dragon blinked. ôWhatàwhatÆs coming?ö

The girl grinned, her very poise displaying her unwavering confidence.

ôWeÆre gonna carve our names in the history of this world! For countless years to come, our names will be remembered: Matsushita Suzuka-sama! Her partner, Dracomon!"

She paused.

"àand Shiro-chan, of course.ö

ôStop that! IÆm older than you!ö

Yes, it would work out for these twoà

àsomehow.

The pureblood dragon Digimon, Coredramon Blue, flew over the gray-tinted ocean carrying his Tamer in his strong arms. In the distance, the outline of the city their intel identified as ôDaimachiö grew larger and larger as they approached. He could not fly at his top speed: that would be extremely uncomfortable to his Tamer.

The city was thoroughly ravaged, reduced to a landscape of ruins and rubbish after numerous attacks from PrideÆs allies; SuzukaÆs ôcolleaguesö, if they could be called such. If Suzuka remembered correctly, her adorable minion had also enjoyed himself a bit wreaking havoc in the besieged Digimon metropolis. However, she was not sure whether her colleagues were truly responsible for DaimachiÆs destruction, or whether they had just finished the job.

In spite of the cityÆs collapse, there remained a small community of Digimon, working together to survive in their ravaged home. They were SuzukaÆs targetùthe girl was ambitious and wished for a bigger army to rule over. The girl had already done her homework; Coredramon had flown over the ruined city several times, and Suzuka watched through his eyes thanks to the D-Synchro, identifying the Digital Monsters her partner found in his explorations. She already knew which ones she wanted and which ones would become food for her troops.

The Digimon had barricaded themselves in what remained of DaimachiÆs market place, most likely due to the availability of resources they would not find anywhere else in the destroyed city. The location was incredibly convenient for her.

Coredramon landed on the top of a two-story building three blocks to the east of the pitiful barricade they had built with wood and rubble. It was almost sad, but she expected no glory or challenge from this operation. It was like in strategy games, where you have to gather resources before improving your base and building a powerful army to attack your opponents.

After a month of fidgeting around, Suzuka was acquainted with the many functions of her Digivice. After pointing downwards, to the narrow alleyway between the building she stood on and the next, a dark violet ball of energy came into being, quickly reshaping itself into an elongated, two-dimensional ellipseùa Dark Portal.

The first one to emerge was Dobermon, who without hesitation jumped his way up the alleyway, bouncing from wall to wall to reach the rooftop and SuzukaÆs side. The girl greeted him without words, only caressing the back of his right ear.

Then the black PawnChessmon began to pour in: one by one, twelve in total. Each and every single of SuzukaÆs squadrons, whether they were called Claws or Fingers, were composed of twelve Child Digimon led by an Adult. The leader of this squadùFirst Claw of the Green Talonùwas a hulking brute: a huge bipedal bull-man with a fearsome metal contraption replacing its left handùMinotaurmon.

The PawnChessmon did not wait for the whole group to be assembled to start movingùthey had received their instructions after SuzukaÆs briefing with the squadron leaders, they knew exactly what to do, and they would do it to the best of their abilities. Such was the absolute domination the twin-tailed girl exerted over her troops.

The PawnChessmon, led by Minotaurmon, would create a perimeter denying the targets the possibility of escape by moving eastward, leaving them with no other choice but to retreat to the small peninsula to the west of the marketplace. They would be forced to trap themselves in a reduced space, just like Suzuka needed them to.

After the First Claw of the Green Talonùlet us call it Green Claw for the sake of shortness from now onùa new group of twelve Child-level Digimon began to emerge: Black Gabumon, the remnants of a community of Gabumon defeated andàöalteredö into a combat unit loyal to Matsushita Suzuka. Even their leader, a Garurumon with a particularly thick skin, had been ôconvertedö to SuzukaÆs cause, but he led a different unit. Instead, the fur-cloaked Reptile Digimon were led by one of the Troopmon Suzuka had appointed as Claw Leaders (Captains). Unlike the Green Clawm which had already departed to set up the perimeter, the Gabumon squad had organized itself into two rows of six on the street adjacent to the market entrance, so as to remain unseen by whatever sentinels the Digimon survivors had, if any.

The third Claw was composed of blue, beetle-like Digimon, KoKabuterimon. Boasting great strength and decent speed, they made for excellent medium infantry. Led by their Troopmon captain, they moved to stand in line next to the Gabumon.

Then the six last members of SuzukaÆs assault appeared before the portal closed behind them. To Matsushita Suzuka, adding these six Hagurumon to her army had been so far her greatest achievement.

ôYour turn, Coredramon,ö the human general declared before sitting sideways on her Dobermon companion, latching her left hands to the metal collar around his neck. The dragon took to the air, and his powerful wings took him to the barricade in less than ten seconds.

ôBlue Flare Breath!ö

In a split instant, the barricade was breached, and SuzukaÆs troops were marching to break in through the hole. Coredramon flew swift and unbothered, raining blue flames aimed solely at instilling panic amongst the small force composed almost entirely of Child Digimon. The perimeter set up by the Green Claw began to close in on the marketplace while the two other Claws split into smaller groups to seek out their targets building by building. Dobermon leapt from rooftop to rooftop, carrying his mistress to the pre-arranged gathering point, where the troops would deliver the captured Digimon for transport.

It was simple and effective, really: everything the troops had to do was to maneuver their targets into being struck by a HagurumonÆs Darkness Gear attack, which placed them under the cogwheel DigimonÆs control. Of course, it only worked against Child Digimon and the occasional Adult, but whenever a Digimon strong enough to resist the attack appeared, it usually meant Suzuka and her partner entered the fray.

And thus, the operation ran as predicted, with the troops storming each building in small groups and forcing those within to the streets and into the awaiting Machine Digimon ready to fire. The vast majority of targets were captured like this, and the few who managed to avoid that fate ended up succumbing to superior numbers.

By the shore of the bleak sea, Suzuka watched the proceedings through the radar function of her Digivice; a portal at the ready to transport the capture Digimon to the citadel foràindoctrination.

ôDonÆt you just love it when everything works the way itÆs supposed to, Coredramon?ö

ôYes, Suzuka-sama.ö

ôAnd you, Dobermon?ö

The astoundingly large dog growled in response, and Suzuka giggled merrily at that.

ôI know!ö

Coredramon could not make anything out of that.

Kaji had not exactly been alert when the punch had flown towards his face, so he was particularly surprised when it actually didn't connect. His memory flashed to the fight he'd gotten into earlier in the day, when he'd only just realized the leader of the group was on the ground bleeding before he'd even noticed his fist had done it. But this couldn't have been the same, he'd really felt like he hadn't moved.

The boy turned his attention to the device again, noticing it had been beeping. Flipping it open he noticed the screen flickering, clearly trying to display something, though only a few fragments of the characters were visible between some strange sort of static. 'Does it not have enough power or is whatever it is being blocked...'

His eyes were drawn to the similar device at the other cosplayer's side. 'Best to test it.' He kicked up a piece of debris on the ground, before snatching it out of the air with ease. Kaji palmed it a moment as he heard someone introduce themselves to the group, noticing it was small enough for his purposes.

Idly he chucked it right at the cosplayer. To his surprise, it actually connected, bouncing off the person's shoulder hard and impacting the side of the train behind him and letting out a loud clang throughout the station. He grimaced as his target let out a gasp of pain. 'Threw it way harder than I thought.'

"Ow, watch it. Leave me out of your little squabbles." The train said, before rattling a bit, knocking the cosplayer to the side and taking off. Kaji paid it little notice as he tried to piece together what happened.

To his side came another outburst of "We've angered the wizard!" that he promptly ignored.

"Was it only me, or did I really throw him without noticing..." He muttered to himself. His eyes drifted around the station, leading him to suddenly notice that almost everyone was staring at him.

'Ah right, that probably looked like I was starting a fight.' The cosplayer got up behind him.

"The hell was that for?!" The teen yelled, seemingly ready to punch him again. However it was clear he was hesitating, unsure after getting tossed aside like that.

Kaji made another face at the noise. "I was just checking something."

Running over the options they'd been left with in his head, he realized there was only one clue to really go with. According to that little demonic thing, something was apparently happening up north that would pertain to them, something to do with partners. 'Given the size of that thing earlier, that sounds pretty good about now.'

Ignoring the cosplayer's subsequent outburst, he switched off the static screen on the device and called up the map again. He dismissed the two white dots different distances away steadily moving towards their group as more humans before looking up north. Same as earlier, nothing was there, and the white dot some distance away from the group had vanished. Kaji's face soured. 'Out of range apparently.'

He fiddled with the buttons a little, annoyance rising each time he accidentally made the map disappear, before finally he stumbled into what he wanted. The map zoomed out, displaying a slightly wider range. Their group amassed itself into one large white dot, the train that had just left was a much smaller red dot steadily moving away as two much smaller white dots continued to move towards them. 'I guess you give up telling how many and how big they are for a larger distance.'

Turning his eyes up north north he could clearly see two rather small white dots steadily making their way for a collection of reds and one large black one. 'That can't be good.'

Another person joined the group out of the corner of his eye, in addition to the one he vaguely recalled saying he was Shin. 'Names are probably a good place to start.'

"Kaji." The boy said, cutting off the outburst from the cosplayer. He was met with blank stares from the entirety of the people there. "My name." He clarified. "Since it looks like virtually none of us have a clear idea what's going on, I suggest we try to compile what information we have as we head north to whatever that thing said is going on there."

He pointed the map at the others. "I have no idea what's going on in this world, but since we're 'White' then two of us are heading towards 'Black'. If that's what I think it is, it means we should probably run to them now before they actually meet."

The boy who'd been making the comments about the brief scuffle suddenly pipped in. "Why run." He said, a smirk lighting his face. "We've got a good bus to use right there."

Kaji's face soured even more. "Lucky us."

The cosplayer suddenly spoke up. "Hey, there's a bigger white dot coming towards-"

Naturally the comment was suddenly cut off by the sound of the doors being burst through as a purple thing rushed out and jumped onto the skimpier of the two cosplayers.

"Wait, wait, it's good, they're humans!" A voice called out from the smoke of the entrance, seemingly relieved.

Kaji gingerly rubbed the bridge of his nose as his agitation rose by the second. This was going to be a long journey.

I kicked the lizard off of Hachi, It was a rabbit kick, since the incident with the eyeless thing from before showed these things were to fast for solid strike's.

My back hurt, my shoulder hurt from that dick, Kaji, chucking a rock at me, my head hurt, I might have a concussion, I apparently can't hit the guy I'm pissed at and there's something nearby that I just proved I CAN beat on.

Bring it on.

"My name is Saishu, does anyone else want to give out any introduction's or do we just get moving now?" I didn't care really, at least at the moment.

But... I get the feeling that I'm gonna be dealing with these people for a long time.

Shit.

"Moight as well introduce moiself"

Ryan takes a bow.

"I am the Amazing, Magnificent, and Wonderful Tin Man of Oz, but you can call me Ryan."

Ryan points to the bus.

"That contraption over there is my bus. It will take us where we need to go" Ryan mutters in English "Possibly"

Ryan cackles a bit and straightens up.

"Oy, Dinosaur boy, you should more then likely introduce yourself. Might end some of this. Heh. Stick Boy and the other half of the Cosplay Duo should Introduce themseves as well."
