What took you so long? Chapter 34 came out quite a while back.

I laughed at the prominent nod to Sealed Evil in a Can.

Really, really liking his latest posted work <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6631517/1/Later' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Later</a>. A story about how people drifted apart and then drifted back together.

Kinda wondering if the kid is Kyon's or something. I doubt it but it seems like the sort of dramatic thing that could be used as tension.

Kyon did say that he did not have a lover, and it makes little sense for Tsuruya and Kyon to get together while her husband was alive, but not after when he's all but a father to her son.

I don't think Kyon's the father biologically and I don't think he and Tsuruya are lovers, currently or otherwise, but I do think Tsuruya has some feelings for him. At the very least, they're close enough for Kyon to consider her family.

The sheer number of ellipses Durandall uses could easily connect Munich with Berlin.

It's kind of annoying. But I guess it's his style.

No matter what fandom he writes for, there's always this meandering, dull quality to his prose that sends me half to sleep.

His excessive use of ellipses is the worst thing though.

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6631517/7/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Later</a>, part seven.

This interpretation of Haruhi is interesting. Sympathetic, on one level, for wanting support in her situation, yet brutally flawed for thinking about dumping the problem on people around her rather than deal with it herself. But while that's all well and good, to an extent I feel like her attitude is a bit off. A Haruhi who doubts herself in some way is certainly more sympathetic, but I can't help wonder if instead she would loudly declare her ability to cope while still seeking support to actually do it. That kind of disconnect would fit Haruhi's character; having her already realize her doubts consciously seems...just a bit too easy.

Sometimes I feel like Durandall's plots... they feel like they boil down to "soap opera love polygons."

I want more logic puzzles, and less talking about feelings.

When you phrase it like that, my love for his works now makes perfect sense.

When soaps can play out a story half as well, I'll start watching them again.

Well, it reminds me of the later Rama novels, it's like, stop talking about relationships, that's so much less interesting than the ALIENS.

I'm kinda hoping why he started Later was so he could move his character based romantic drama to it and explore those themes and return big damn hero to being about to being about a big damn hero, oh and trope tan!

LOL, I call shenanigans. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as voices for a Japanese movie?

Yeah, right...

(Actual chapter forty one, the last update was forty.)

And now we've finally arrived back at the prologue.

Obvious plot twist was obvious, but I liked the symbolism in the flower-cutting, even if it was rather lacking in subtlety.

Midway between Tsuruya's home and Nagato's store, as I'm rounding a corner, I catch the hurried sound of footsteps approaching. No one else is nearby at this time of evening, so I look around, just in time to nearly be bowled over by a young girl in Kitago uniform.

I'm able to grab her wrist before she rebounds off me and falls to the ground. Beneath the corner streetlight, I'm able to see her dark eyes widen as she looks up at me in alarm. Her hair is brown, not quite shoulder length, and the tips seem curled, almost as though implying a smile.

Something about her seems eerily familiar ... but then, she must live in the area. Mindful of the fact that I'm old enough that it might seem questionable, I release her wrist once I'm certain she won't fall. "Be careful," I warn her, offering what I hope is a gentle smile.

I hear the sound of additional footsteps approaching, more quickly. I turn to look at the source - was she running away from someone?

A heartbeat later, a boy almost as tall as me skids into view. He seems familiar in the same way... It must just be that they live in the area, to seem so familiar. The boy says, "W... Uh... W...we should get out of here," undoubtedly to the girl, but he seems strangely distracted and inexplicably confused by my presence.

"What's going on here?" I wonder.

The girl makes a startled noise and grabs the boy's hand. "S...sempai?" she manages, her voice quavering, her eyes still locked on me.

The boy snaps to attention at some signal I don't catch, pulling his phone from his pocket with his free hand and cursing before he and the girl break off, charging down the street. I consider giving chase, but they're younger and faster ... and the girl wasn't under any obvious duress.

I suppose it's none of my business, whatever it was. Perhaps there's something strange and amazing there ... but as I've learned, there's no reason - really - to search for it. If I have to be involved, I'm confident that whatever is to happen will find me.
