Forum Reordering Suggestion.

I definitely support Shiro's idea, although perhaps the big three can be put into the Anime/Manga section before the alphabetical order.

I also know that general has always been below the fanfiction sections, but I'm totally for saying fuck that and putting it on top. There's... lots of fanfiction sections.

I find it extremely odd that the Announcement, rules and suggestions are all in place already, yet we added a new section on the bottom specifically for moderation which is pretty much doing exactly what those two existing sections did already. Even the new 'unabridged' rules are separated from the main ones and put into the new section when it all could easily be in those existing ones already.

Granted I suppose this is in place to accommodate the new feature where banned users can still get to the appeals section, but it still seems like there's a bit of a waste going on here.

The reason for the split is visibility. We want people casually cruising the forum seeing things in these two threads, while we don't want people constantly looking at the mod topics.

It's like the difference between city hall and a courthouse; both are administrative offices, but they perform different functions and you don't want them next to each other.

Then couldn't one of the two be attached as a subsection to the other one? It seems strange to have two entire full sections dedicated to the exact same things, particularly for that reason. It should be just as easy have both discussion and appeals as a part of official business, or actual subsections within say anouncments/rules which is where that really belongs anyway.

When I made the post, there was a Love Hina section, but the Negima section was missing. I see that it's been changed now.

So Shirotsume's awesome and popular re-ordering suggestion was ignored and all the less popular subforums were straight up nuked and their threads carelessly thrown into general piles in the anime/manga and game fanfiction subforums. Great.

I still don't understand why it was so damn important to get rid of those subforums. It's not like we have a limited amount of space on the main page and several other solutions that wouldn't require destroying the underused subforums were suggested to solve the problem of "cluttering".

I believe it was said that, at the moment, the admins are concentrating more on removing unused subforums (which go into general subforums, just like the rest of the little-used series posts), and adding subforums for more used series' posts (Which are pulled out of the general forum into it's own subforum).

Remember, my idea makes absolutely no distinction at all on the actual subforums.
