Just to note, Sakura doesn't have super-strength, just a perfectly-timed Megaton Punch.
And it's entirely possible the Uchiha weren't as insanely weaalthy as one would think, given they were a clan that was forcibly put into a position of monitoring and the like. Everything they had was basically what they had brought with them, or built from the ground up, and not all Uchiha were ninja, as it seems -- we saw two running a bakery, which would be a terrible waste of ocular power. Factor in funeral costs, lack of wills, and debtors collecting on every dime and collateral they could get, and you might be looking at a piddly cash inheritance overall.

The Sharingan was supposed to be uncommon even among the Uchiha. And the owners were old, so they might have been retired ninja.
Last, nowhere it's stated it's something bad not becoming a ninja- it's perfectly possible most Uchiha weren't ninja... or, IMHO more likely, most became ninja but retired young when it was obvious they weren't made for that career.

She'd likely have to experiment on herself a lot, much like Tsunade likely did. Except chasing after Sasuke and having a kid along the way wouldn't exactly give her that kind of time, so I wouldn't really be all that miffed. Besides, haven't we stolen enough from Tsunade as it was? Let her have at least that...

So, a long-haired person grabs her by it and talks to her about how softer than her own it is while she is weaker, so she probably spent more time caring for it than training. So she cuts her hair out to escape and never grows it again. Later gives the lecture she got to Ino herself, trying to show herself as more mature.
Later, three of the strongest living ninjas in Konoha have long hair, Tsunade's two braids being the shorter of the sannin. Tsunade is also her teacher, and she supposedly became better than her.
