I already own 10 of these games...

Shirotsume

Not The Goddamn @dmin
Yeah, I own all but Contra III, Final Fantasy III/VI, Super Punch out, and the Kirby's.

If I happen to see it, I'll grab it. So I won't be getting it :p

My SNES vanished long ago, not that it's all that usable on a modern TV. I'd really love to get a snes mini, but man, I just don't have confidence nintendo will make enough of them.

I don't need it, because emulators. I've got a little Pi that I have set up expressly for this purpose. That's basically what this thing is.

I've bought all of these games at least once, some multiple times, so I don't feel bad about it at all.

Well, except Star Fox 2 obviously, which I don't really care about. Never got all that into Star Fox. Played it, beat it, not my favorite thing. If I'm gonna play a space combat thing, I'd just as soon do it on PC, where I have more and better options.

I have at least one legit copy of every game I've got a ROM for, the majority of which I ripped myself with modded hardware. I like buying old consoles from pawn shops to mod for ROM ripping purposes.

Running an emulator and Roms for 16 bit games can be done on the most potato of PCs. You don't really start needing better hardware until you get into the realm of the PS2 and Xbox.

The only exceptions are a few off the wall arcade cabinet ROMS that you can't get any other way [Radar Scope is a good example].

I'm totally on board for this.

A game that turns Kaiju and Super Robots into a survival horror game where you have survive at ground level as an ordinary citizen.

Hell yes.

I dunno, I think I'd have a hard time taking a survival horror game seriously when all of the monsters are from various pop culture franchises. It'd have to be satire, there's no way you could play it straight and adequately explain the existence of Evangelion, angels, ultra men, godzilla monsters and gundams all attacking the same city simultaneously.

It seems to be aware of that. I'm thinking something is causing these things to appear.

Maybe some kid with psychic powers strong enough to affect an entire city who is using them to essentially play with giant action figures, or a Pixels like alien invasion, or something like Gozer from Ghostbusters where they got to "choose the form of the Destructor"?

It's not that hard to come up for a reason for a situation like this. Given the title a scenario like that does seem likely.

At any rate, if this doesn't show up in the US at some point, I'm importing the hell out of it.

I suppose the new Mei short from Overwatch puts to bed any conflict over how Mei looks body wise under her outfits.

The girl be chubby.

Sonic Mania is fucking awesome.

The levels are huge with tons of multiple branching pathways, with the perfect mix of slower precision platforming sections and balls to the walls speed sections, the special stages are tons of fun, the boss fights are all varied and highly creative, and the music is great. There are plenty of game play modes, including time attack and multiplayer, and lots of unlockable extras (including the memetastic "& knuckles mode" which makes knuckles follow you everywhere, even if you are playing as knuckles!).

My only complaint is that there aren't enough new stages. The 8 remixed classic stages are great and all, but the original new stages are goddamn amazing. And unfortunately there are only four of them. It's still incredible overall though and I have not enjoyed a Sonic game this much since playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles combined cartridge. I feel like a little kid again, at least once per stage something happens that blows my mind and makes me just grin and laugh with absolute glee.

Edit: Oops I meant to post this in the "What Games are you playing" thread.

A new trailer for one of the few remasters that I am actually looking forward to.

Oh man I might have to dig out some of my saves from the original games to find out what my Crimson VS decks were, or did I have a topic about it somewhere on the original board? I'll have to check.

Edit
Huh I have a different topic for volume 2 and 3

As someone in the UK who never got the play G.U, I'm looking forward to this. Might need to bust out my old PS2 and play the original four games, and refresh my memory of the story.

Yeah the original 4 haven't aged well at all sadly, I remember loving them when they first came out but the systems don't even compare well to the GU games let alone more modern titles. The story doesn't tie in as much as you would think there are a couple of characters that make the jump but most of what ties them together are rumours in the second games board. That being said if your going that route I would recommend watching .hack//Sign and .hack//Roots as well.

So....I'm Rocket Raccoon.....I'm good with this.

I read the other day that a PS4/Vita/PC remaster of Secret of Mana is scheduled for release mid-February 2018. Watched a video on youtube of the first 11 minutes of gameplay (basically up to when you get kicked out of Potos Village). It appears to be exactly the same game, just with 3D graphics. I can't wait :D

Bloodstained the full cast for the Japanese language track.

I'm pretty happy with it all around. Ryoko from Kill la Kill being the lead, Mami playing tit nun, and even alucard from SOTN's original actor returning.
