Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Be A Trilogy
As for the next entry in this newly confirmed trilogy, that will be Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (which itself was just announced during the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary livestream today) which is out next winter. That leaves a third, currently unnamed entry in the trilogy that will be released in the future.

...

Also announced today: the long-awaited and heavily rumored remake of the FF7 prequel spin-off Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. This new version is officially titled Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion and will be out this winter on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

Aw, my retro gaming. Actually, I'm more surprised that these features are still running.

Xbox 360 games will no longer be part of Xbox Games with Gold in October
Microsoft is planning to remove Xbox 360 games from its monthly Games with Gold offer in October. The software maker has started emailing Xbox Live Gold subscribers to warn them of the change, noting that the company has “reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalogue [due to licensing, legal and technical constraints].”

Also, I actually preordered the Tactics Ogre release for the PSP back in the day, and got the nice Tarot Cards preorder bonus.

The preorder bonus for this is a digital copy of 3 music tracks. How very underwhelming lol

Lol. The PS4 version of Kemono Friends 3, one of the gazillion-and-one gacha out there, is getting shut down less than 2 months after release. It effectively only was online for 10 days before going down for emergency repairs. There's apparently some bug on the server side for the PS4 version that they've struggled with trying to fix and have just thrown their hands up and are shutting it down. The PC and phone version will still continue.

From the Nintendo Direct yesterday:

Zelda BotW2 'Tears of the Kingdom' for May 12 2023
New Fire Emblem mainline SRPG (FE17 I think, Fire Emblem Engage)
Fatal Frame IV
Fist of the North Star boxing game somewhat in the style of Wii Sports
Front Mission 1/2 remakes and maybe FM3
Octopath Traveler 2
Atelier Ryza 3
Resident Evil games including 8...on cloud, so hard pass
Crisis Core Reunion
Radiant Silvergun
Endless Dungeon
Pikmin 4
Tales of Symphonia remaster
Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe
Story of Seasons: It's a Wonderful Life remake (the original Wonderful Life was on GameCube)
Factoria
Theatrhythm
Rune Factory 3 Special edition for Switch, with a hint of a new Rune Factory 'series'...so not sure if RF6 or a spinoff of the series
Some more N64 games, like Pokemon Stadium and some Mario Party games...and Goldeneye 007, with online play (!)
Multiple random indies
Some updates to some other existing announcements, like Harvestella, and Raincode

Pretty good Direct imo. Some big releases.

Also, there were four farming sims either announced or with updates. I'm only interested in new farming sims if I can have 8 kids and fulfill my breeding fantasies with my cute waifu :p

I counter your Nintendo Direct with Sony's State of Play! :p

Tekken 8
Yakuza 8
Yakuza: Ishin
Yakuza Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
(Kazuma Kiryuu spinoff, post Y6)
Pacific Drive
Stellar Blade
RIse of the Ronin
(Team Ninja, ETA 2024)
Synduality
(Bandai Namco)
God of War Ragnarok

And a few VR titles I've passed over.

Rockstar got hacked. 50 minutes of GTA6 videos got leaked, including that it's got a female playable character and potentially takes place in Vice City. Plus the hacker has access to GTA5 and GTA6 source code.

No idea if this tweet with the longest clip at 3 minutes will get taken down soon
