George Lucas is At It Again

That would just make it worse. I can't really agree with changing the format to 3D as they tried to do that with Clash of the Titans and it looked awful.

Unless the scene in question has been re-re-re-mastered so that Han shoots first again, not even gonna consider looking at it. Seriously, Lucas. You are squeezing blood from a stone.
When did Han ever not shoot first? Hell, George Lucas has been seen walking around in a "Han Shot First" t-shirt on quite a number of occasions. The only arguments that he didn't come from the fandom itself. Even Word of God clearly prefers the idea that he did.

I noticed it. It wasn't funny, but I noticed it.

In the film A new Hope.

The worst part is that this actually made the BBC news. And it didn't just make the BBC. It made one of their stories for the U.S and Canada section. Seriously, this is considered news worthy? It might, just barely might, be worth the Entertainment section but to make it to regular news?

Actually, Greedo did shoot. In the scene in question, two shots can clearly be heard, one right after the other. While it is hypothetically possible that Han merely shot Greedo twice, it has been stated several times in canon that they each shot once. Ergo, the question is: did Greedo shoot at Han, miss, and then Han shoot Greedo, or did Han shoot Greedo, who convulsed and pulled the trigger on his own gun?

I no longer have a VCR or LD to verify it, but that's what youtube is for. A search for the original 1977 scene reveals this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1YbFnkZwZk.

I don't know about any of you, but I only heard a single shot.

Edit: some of the fan-edits are amusing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PHRO9B6wQo.

It's like that stupid royal wedding in England this weekend. They're showing that live on five different stations here in Germany. For days now, you couldn't turn on a TV or a radio without getting bombarded with news about that super special awesome social event.

Just sod off, you cunts. Nobody cares about that shit. Especially not I.

Methinks that if they are showing it live on five different stations, rather a lot of people must care about that shit.

Nobody I know cares about it. I think they just don't know what else to broadcast, so they show an inbred twa- sorry, I mean: an inbred royal twat getting married to a hot chick instead of another call-in show or infomercials.

Media hype. The news people generally have the thought that "If it's on the news, it's something people should care about," which tends to transition into "If we put it on the news, people will eat this shit up!"

Considering the amount of last-minute media spotlighting the Royal Wedding has been given, even in countries for whom this has no bearing (i.e. practically everyone outside the UK), it's definitely not an organic hype machine working.
