You actually know the words I was talking about or you just saw the Orange Idiot part and figured it out?

I had some idea before you mentioned the idiot in orange, what with _that_ series' pervasiveness on these boards.
Easy hit count.

I agree. It's an infestation. Just take a look at the anime addventure. Lately half of the threads are about that certain guy I won't mention here.

You hate the idiot in orange? Sorry, I really didn't know. I though that was GH.

I really think he just hates how it infects other fandoms on top of being such a god-aweful show.

The idea was Kasumi - she seemed to like order more than the others, and that's what Ranma sought.

I could have seen Nabiki in the role... they would have appealed to each others ambitions nicely.

Would the link have had similar effects on Ranma as it did Odo? Meaning would his fiancee/wife/companion etc... have to face off with him and force him to see what it was doing to him like was done with Odo?

Not quite.

I was thinking, and this is just random, crazy talk here, about how the Dominion was supposed to know about the Federation before the discovery of the Wormhole.

And Star Trek being Star Trek, there was one logical option that sprung to mind.

"Temporal Anomaly".

A Founder is sent back in time to warn the Great Link about the Federation, either the threat that it poses or that steps will need to be taken to prevent Odo breaking their most sacred of laws. Possibly allowing the Human race a chance to join the Dominion as autonomous members or something.

Something went wrong, and the Founder ended up on Earth and not in the Gamma Quadrant.

And after contacting the Dominion, Earth makes contact with aliens/gains warp drive technology a couple of generations early and possibly prevents WW3.

Or Ranma uses his skills to engineer some help and accidentally starts the Eugenics Wars or something.

I don't know, I'm just trying to help the headache go away.

I'm not that well versed in the Star Trek verse, but since Ranma is a changeling who can take the appearance of whatever he likes, does that mean he's immortal?

It was mentioned at one point that the founders can easily live hundreds of years... I do not think they are immortal or cannot die if they are away from the link.

In fact, they originally were not expecting to run into Odo for a few hundred years in the future, suince they did not know of the Wormhole back when he was sent out and of course found.

Or this could be left here in this state for years.

Who knows/cares?
Well I do, but I don't think that matters much.

Overall I miss the absence of the conversion from Ranma into a Ranma-shaped Founder.

I also wonder what happend to Nabiki, since she's generally portrayed as a soulless busybody did Ranma end up having to kill her to keep her quiet?

Raa said he lost motivation. I don't know him personally, but I get the impression that if he stopped this story because someone mentioned that series then he'd say so.

Or not, like I said, I don't know him personally.

But if you're going to guilt trip someone do it in pms, it just bores pretty much everyone else reading this thread.

Well, I have had another idea for the direction to take this one in.

Watch this space for and alternative plot line.

Jem'hadar? Invading modern Earth? LOL. Poor fuckers aren't going to know what hit them once the insurgencies start up. The only reason they might have won in the first place is because of their spaceships; on the ground, we'd paste the crap out of them with proper combined arms. I wouldn't be surprised if the remnants of the US or Russian governments are going to begin secretly building Orion-drive starships to go and try to negate the Jem'hadar's high ground advantage, as well, like they did in Footfall.

I'm pretty sure the Jem'Hadar will destroy any modern armies. They have their phase dilated mines, orbital superiority and lets not forget superior weapons and gods know what else.

You are also taking about an insurgency being able to hinder a people whose response to insurgencies is to give everyone the equivalent of aids and let them suffer.

You do realise that 10 million died in the initial orbital bombardment?

That's not the total bodycount for the invasion. That's the number dead in the opening assault.

And we all know how good late 20th Century medicine was for treating wounds from energy weapons, don't we?

Also, it's entirely possible that some of the Dominion fleet are wondering why they don't flatten every settlement on the surface of the planet regardless of its location or inhabitants.

unaware of for hundreds, if not thousands of years even though it shaped some of our history and beliefs?ö

The Saotomes shared a moment of laughter before sobering up.
Are you also referencing some other crossover? (Such as stargate for instance)

Or is that an RFO thing?
