yeah, looks like the servers are borked right now. Understandable, it is a beta after all. Not to worried about character progress, as it will all be wiped anyways.

Got into the servers, and leveled my elementalist up to 11. That also meant I could equip some of my new crafted gear. I made myself 2 rings, an earring, a staff, and a full set of crafted gear.

<a href='http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v106/Gravatron/gw059.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>I think it all came out quite nicely.</a>

I didn't bother with crafting this BWE., too busy trying out the classes. Is the stuff you make worth it?

yeah, it looks fantastic and holds up fairly well stat wise. It's easy to control your stats as well, so it's not as random as just farming for goods.

Also, I just now realized you can redye your outfit at will, and that the dye seeds are only for new dyes to choose from. A pity they take 24 hours a pop to make, meaning that I probably won't get any newer ones till after the beta.

Tested out a necro today, fun, but not as caster like as i'd expected. rolled a norn one, but that will switch to a Slyvari for release. Likewise, my human theif will switch to Asura.

The norn warrior and human elementalist will stay though. Not sure what my final slot will go to, ether ranger or mesmer.

Started a conditionmaster for PvP.

Build Here: <a href='http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3822g09t4o87lp4u3euu0a04u4v50565vh8h9' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Skill Calc</a>

The DoTs I can accrue are insane and I can operate well in both 1v1s and teamfights. Keep the signet of spite in reserve for those touchy 1v1s (especially in Guardian match ups) or use it in conjunction with Epidemic to hinder an entire team. Warhorn + Consume conditions for those 'Oh shit.' moments that come up entirely too often.

this game owns

best purchase, easily. I cannot wait to play once they get the lag figured out.

I have my complaints but they hardly detract from the excellent experience i had.

Same here, I was extremely pleased with how it looks and feels so far. Some tweaks are necessary, but the general design is pretty awesome.

I must have played for 20 hours in the beta, on 4 characters, and took 104 screenshots. Can't wait for release.

Ajora Glabados? That's a name to be remembered. And I've been waiting for this game a long time, I just don't have a rig that can play it, been un-employed for a while now. So I'm still running a single core system. The sadness is almost overwhelming.

I was making a guardian and was like 'What's a great name for a Guardian? Meliadoul Tingel!' except it was taken so i tried 'Saint Ajora' and no go, so i ended up with Ajora Glabados.

Really good name tbh.

Were you on Eternal Grove at any point? I swear I saw an Ajora Glabados running around. It could very well be some FFT fan but was it you?

Anyway, how did everybody like PvP? I felt that it was fast-paced and competitive but there were obvious class balance issues, like Greatsword rangers being more mobile and better at dealing damage than Warriors, thieves speccing cheap camp and dagger builds. And then there was the Engie who performed very poorly in offensive PvP.

Had a good time in the PvP I participated in, though I only did a few rounds of constructed PvP on my engineer. Mostly did WvWvW, but the satisfying feel of claiming a plot of ground and daring all comers to unroot you from it was sweet no matter the arena.

Edit: Also, the lack of a single charachter having the ability to focus down and stun lock another to keep them out of the fight was a godsend to me, but then again I may have a skewed perception having been a tryhard WoW PvPer.

Had to reroll all my characters, spending this beta mainly as a mesmer, which i've had a surprising amount of fun with. Not as awesome as the elementalist, but fun none the less.

Also tried out engineer, and really didn't think that much of it.

Been playing mostly as the plant race, the sylvari. Quite enjoy their starting zone, it's quite diverse.

Heading out of beta 3, it's looking like my main will still be a human ele, with a Sylvari Theif as my first alt, and then a norn warrior and then probably a mesmer (human, or norn most likely).

Rerolled on Sanctum of Raal. Seemed fitting, with all that's happened as of late.

Final beta has come and gone, and the headstart starts on the 25th of this month.

So, what server are you guys rolling on? I was thinking Sanctum of Raal, but it doesn't look to be too populated with other big guilds.

I'd like to avoid the 4chan server if possible, could deal without them. Maybe if we get enough TFFers together, we could start our own guild or such.

Having played for a week, nearly, i'm really liking the game so far.

Currently, my biggest issues are the trading post is still down, and i've not yet figure out the best places to farm crafting goods for each level.

Reading up on it, I think I found a good one for tier 1 goods. If it pans out, i'll probably farm enough tonight to get artificial to lv 75+, and then put some way for my thief alt's leather working and weapon smithing.

Also, finding myself way behind on levels compared to some guild mates. I'm chilazing in my mid 20's, while a lot of them seem to have shot up into the 40-50 range already, with a handful 60+ and one guy 74+ now.

absolutely crazy. Started to see a few legit 80's already as well. I just don't see the point on blowing though the game so quickly, given it will be some time before the next major expansion or such.

Just wandering through the zones will level you pretty fast in the game. When you finally collect enough blue crafting materials to get past the humps of each tier of a craft, you gain a fair number of character levels just from that too. Collecting them is just a pain since by the time you have enough, you usually out level what you make since everything gets you xp. But you can just mystic forge the items to try to get something better. A lot of the higher levels are there just cause they wanted to see everything, since just killing stuff doesn't net that much xp compared to events and exploration. Except for the very first 80 who just skipped long event chains and crafted the last 20 levels.

Some of the higher level renown hearts and dynamic events are kinda buggy atm, but nothing really stops you from skipping them or plodding through.

So far I am having alot of fun exploring and doing the jumping puzzles that are all over. WvW is also very fun when you can get in. Assaulting a castle is pretty epic feeling, until you get flanked.

I'been able to stay fairly even with my crafting lv versus my normal level, although, the materials required don't level well with the enemies.

For example, lv 40 gear requires wool. But level 40 mobs drop cotton, not wool. the result is you have to go back to a lv 35 to 30 zone to farm them, to make your lv 40 gear.

Thankfully, the game does give you a few good farming spots for mats of certain types. I was able to find a good location for jte, and a decent location for wool. Getting the 'small' level mats are a pain, but I found a great spot for blood. Need to find one for venom as well, and bone shards.

Also, respeced at 40, from an Arcane/Water/Air build to a Earth/Water/Air. I did this after looking at the order of whispers gear, and seeing it was best suited to conditional damage builds.

Should be an interesting build. All about applying some conditions, then switching to heals and back.

Going to need two sets of armor at the high level: a conditional damage farm gear, and a power/healing support set.

Really wish they game let you swap armor sets like you can weapon sets, would make things easier.

I've found that the 2 tailed scorpions drop venom more often for me comparatively. Bloods are pretty easy since those cloaking lizards(skales i think) drop them at a rate thats pretty high sompared to anything else.

My armor is also built for condition spec since i find bleeding enemies down with a sword on my warrior to be the most survivable fighting method on a warrior when fighting more that 3 enemies. Actually spec'd kinda tanky atm since its bad for melee not to be in this game. Only thieves can get away with going glass cannon from what I have seen.

Multiple sets of armor would be convenient, but it would kill inventory space, which is tight for me most of the time. Though with gem prices diving the way they are, at least bank slots are pretty affordable for anyone. It was 18c a gem last night, making the 600 gems for an upgrade cost about 1g 8c. Its nice that the price stays constant for each upgrade and doesn't inflate.

As an elementalist, I can see armor swapping would be really good for you since you have 4 stances, but I think they want us to define a specific playstyle for wach of our builds.

extra cheap gems are actually something of a bad thing, given the game relies on it's cash shop. If people aren't shelling out for stuff, it creates something of a funding issue.

Earth water seems to be working so far, it gives me great survivability. Got my talioring up to 150+ last night, edging on 175 now. Once you get over the 150 bump, things are fairly smooth.

Somewhat concerned with my color choices now, as the game keeps giving me light and pastel colors. Good thing I rolled a female, else i'd be getting some strange looks. the lv 40 crafted stuff doesn't seem to ever look right though, no matter how I color it.

I don't think funding from the cash shop is much of an issue initially since game sales covered that. Gold is acutally pretty valuable atm since almost everyone is dirt poor so thats why gems are so cheap probably. The net money at higher lvls is still positive but not as great as in other games due to expenses of travel and repair going up more in comparison to money gained from rewards and sale of items. This is probably good in the long run since inflation will not be suchs a big problem.

My Weaponsmithing is at around 247. If you buy mats from the TP, always buy with a buy order. It may take a bit more time, but you will get a better price from people who just use the TP as a vendor dump for quich cash. The only limit is that your price has to be above vendor, so you know people will use it since its just as fast as vendoring but for a better price.

If you keep getting pastels, you can combine repeats or ones you don't want in the mystic forge to try to get other colors. Apparently some people are buying inks cheap off the TP and combining them to try to get more popular colors for resale.

didn't think of that, honestly. I've been sending them to the bank, then using them on my alts. Light armor looks good in those colors, but chain and leather look a bt funny at times.

Don't really have any good colors myself. Have been using Winter Sky and Sea breaze for my heavy armor. It's pretty much a light off white with a greenish highlight. I have gotten alot of varities of rust and pink. I am amazed how many shades of pink are in this game.

I'm getting a ton of light reds, blues, and greens, but colors like orange, yellow, or solid blue/red/black/white are seemingly very rare. the only orange I have is Pastel Honeybutter, and I don't have a single yellow thusfar.
