Guild Wars 2

I have Royal Blue, which is a pretty solid blue. Don't really use it since it makes me look like I'm in the sPvP. Got a couple variations of honey for my yellows but they all look golden, which is good since heavy armor looks better as gold than yellow. Black dyes are apparently the money makers since apparently black is cool. My friend has gone the route of having the largest most flamboyant male norn possible. I make fun of him since the medium armor coats flare out like a dress when he moves around and i think they make him look fat.

I'll probably hit 80 soon, since I'm 77 atm and 3 levels goes by really fast when completing a zone. Then I can begin exploring all the zones and doing some of the more complex puzzles that I might have missed.

I guess I should start learning the looks and functions of the other classes abilities more before i get into PvP so that I'm prepared for fighting people who actually know what they're doing. I hear a support elementalist like your build is actually one of the more pain in the ass builds to kill, like a full def/support guardian.

<a href='http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v106/Gravatron/gw274.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Current outfit and colors for my main</a>

Still getting a ton of light colors, and it's making it a bit hard to get a good look going for a lot of outfits. Got myself to 186 or so in talioring, not a far grind till lv 200 and the lv 50 gear it brings. Artificing is way behind, still at lv 125 or so. Going to need to do a lot of farming this weekend to get that up to the right level.

Are the shapeshifters fun to play? I've heard good things about the animal forms.

Playing Guardian makes me feel like a badass...even when I'm kiting for my life or healing from the back. I'm really liking this class.

I'm probably doing it completely wrong though, going full on signets, condition damage, and my 'virtues' class ability. Great thing is that a minute of messing with traits gives me a group build that distributes my buffs around, rather than my normal fire, fire, and more fire build.

Did I mention I have a rune that stacks condition damage and a couple that increase duration? Everything burns so well.

Sounds like I'm way behind everyone, but I'm doing a lot of exploring so I'm pretty happy. The jumping puzzles are pretty fun to figure out. Only had to go look one up once, and that was because I didn't know that one of the Sylvari jumping puzzles directly lead into another jumping puzzle.

If the build works, then your doing it right. Guardian can actually tank somewhat since they can stack a much of block next attack buffs with certain builds. I just jump aron alot more for mobility on my warrior.

Hit 80 2 days ago, and did my death march for Orr's waypoints and Arah. That is alot of crap to get past once you hit the Straits of Devastation, making it fairly appropriately named. Probably doesn't help that alot of my gear is from late 60s. Getting some decent stuff from the waves of mobs that attack the outposts so that should rectify soon.

There are some really fun, fairly long jumping puzzles in the sylvari and asura 1-15 zones. Just disappointed that the chests at the end don't scale with my lvl like the ones from the low level boss events do. The giant fire elemental in that zone butchered so many people before it went down, that the reward felt well earned.

The only shapeshifters, besides necromancer's death form, i know of are any Norn character. I don't have a norn so I can't comment on how good it is., though it looks cool. I have an elite skill that turns me into a "juggernaut", but that only makes me immune to CC effects for 22 seconds and be bigger.

Yeah, the Norn is the name. From what I understand, based on the spirit animal you choose on creation of a Norn, you can have a different shapeshifting form at lvl 30 or so. A werewolf, werebear, wereleopard, or wereraven, from what I've seen.

Hit 55 on my main, and 15 on my alt today. Hit another roadblock on crafting, need to ether buy what I need, or just farm like mad. The drop changes for cooking really fucked up the drop rates on fine mats.

I've actually been getting more of the rare mats...but it does me no good since i hit 400 before this windfall could benefit me. I am still not getting much of the 400 rare mats though. Making the exotics is crazy expensive or a lot wandering farming. There are probably only 3-5 Orichalcum and the same number of Ancient wood nodes up in Orr at any one time. These nodes move each nite it seems. There is a conversion method to upgrade a materials tier, but it needs a full 250 stack to convert to about 10-20 of the next tier making it not as cost effective but allowing a brute force method to get the mats you need. But i guess it makes the exotics more valuable. Start saving your 70-80 rare/exotics that you don't want when you get to that point cause you need to salvage them for globs of ectoplasm, which are needed for every exotic recipe apparently.

Finally completed an explorer mode dungeon today. Did Caudecus Manor, picking the asura path. There are some pulls that are just crazy. Need to get way better with my movement before i am gonna be getting through those with out constant deaths.

Been checking out the crafting recipes, and noticed the rep based recipes. Wow, talk about insane costs. They are rare quality, true, but 15x fine mats a pop is crazy. A full set of that gear would cost you 90 fine mats in total. Doesn't seem worth the investment unless you making high level gear to begin with, as you normally just want to build the next level up instead of wasting your time/silver on the mats to make the Rare level gear.

I've yet to see anyone who's in it though, so i've no idea what it actually looks like.

Need to grind some rep as well. been so busy doing hearts that i've not been doing a ton of DE's, so my rep count is actually kind of low. Need to get that higher, so I can, maybe, actually buy some cultural stuff someday.

Need to farm the mats to make a complete set of lv 50/55 gear, despite being lv 55 now. I've just not found any really good farming locations for a lot of it though. Blood is easy, but I need a lot of other stuff as well, mainly cotton. I think Pirates and skales might be my best options, provided I can find them in the right level range. Eager to move form cotton to lenin stuff, as the stats on the lenin good is far superior.

1: Don't bother, you can get the cultural weapons from the trading post for a few silver. They're drops.

2: Dont even bother crafting unless you have the mats for a long set of levels. All the gear is useless by the time you can start crafting gear, only the level 80 exotics that are crafted are useful. Instead just grab some karma gear from heart vendors every 10 or so levels.

Actually, the crafted gear has thusfar been very handy, and superior to most of the stuff that seems to drop, and far more consistent then karma gear.

It's nice to be able to chose the stats I want, and craft to them, rather then hope the next vendor sells what i'm after. Having played 55 levels, most of the time they do not, at least for armor. weapons are a bit more favorable, but sill very inconsistent.

Crafting for non-consumables seems to be aimed at end-game and alts. Only reason I see a point in getting the masterwork recipes.

Their retooling of cooking drop rates means huge supply surplus on the trading post, almost the reverse of what it was before.

What I need are more legendary materials. I want to fill out my discoveries, and I know they're what I'm missing.

I mainly made the rares when I hit 375, since they give about 4-6 lvls each if used for recipe discovery. It cleaned out my mats at the time pretty thoroughly though. They are also good gear to use until i can get exotics which might take a while. Its the exotics crafting that's the real pain. the numbers don't seem that bad, but the rarity on them is way higher. Compare orichalcum ore to mithril ore on the TP. The quantity being sold for each price tier for Orichalcum are about 40-600 compared to the 12k-30k for mithril. Considering the number playing, that's pretty low numbers.

I haven't bothered with the cultural stuff yet, since they are mainly for the cosmetic look. The human heavy armor just makes me look like Logain Thackery. I'll have to check out the other ones sometime after I get some armor that I can feel set in. I like the Flame Citadel heavy armor from explorer mode tokens you get there.

I was tempted to craft the lv 50 rares, but given i'm so close to tailoring 225, and thus lenin goods, I think i'll pass. Might be interesting for the end game stuff though.

Think i'll farm up the last bit of mats I need to hit 225 tonight. only 200 in artificing, but that's going to take a ton of mats to get to 225. I'll start with potions, and then after that see how much more I need.

Once you start doing a lot of DE's, you level like mad in this game. Hit 77 and a half last nigth, mainly due to a lot of DE's in Sparkfly Fen and Straights of Cataclysm. the Orr karma loop runs were a major source of XP.

should hit 80 tonight If I keep doing the same thing. Tailoring is at lv 75 goods, which is acceptable to me. The latest crafting goods actually look quite nice. The Feathered light set, which still showing some skin, isn't as blatant as the winged set was.

If I could, I'd get this game. But my computer lacks the ability to run it. I'd have to get a stronger graphics card and a power supply to fit with it, all of which would be about $130 and then another $60 to get Guild Wars 2. I simply cannot afford to put that much out for a game right now. Later, perhaps.

Halloween event has been quite fun so far. Farming the Mad King takes only a few minutes per kill, and the chest drops some nice loot. Gotten two exotics thusfar, one was the recipe for 'superior rune of the mad king', and the other the Halloween staff 'the crossing' which was a massive upgrade for my Elementalist. Took a vitality hit to get it, but the damage increase was worth it.

Need to focus more on dungeon farming for tokens then dragon kills and karma now. Really need to get exotic armor for my thief and elementalist, as well as some exotic weapons for the thief.

I now have Guild Wars 2 and can run it pretty well. I've got a lvl 48 norn guardian named Argos Fier and my greatest achievement to date has been my triumph over the Shatterer in Blazeridge Steppes. A group of players and I met it in battle and, eventually, proved victorious. Sadly, the chest I was told was supposed to spawn never did. But I got some experience out of it. :)
