Its not a series. Its a mass hallucination. Like when everyone sees a tiny pink elephant, but can't agree if its an African or Indian elephant. Same deal with Harry Potter, we agree about some thing but everyone has the chance to deny the existence of parts they don't like.

I'm obligated to inform everyone that Bobmin's The Power of the Press is updated.

The Power of the Press: Chapter 8 - Year Seven Fall

That joke about Ishtar, not cool.
Joke about Ishtar?
Ishtar is a saint... She has to be, to put up with Kinsfire

Bob backed up slightly under the intense onslaught. ôI've been working on it. But I heard rumors that Kieth had finished beating it and we'd have our file back soon.ö

ôBeating? He's not wanking off you moron! He's Beta'ing!ö

Bob paused and his brows furrowed. ôOh, I thought that sounded strange. Isn't that what Dorothy is for?ö

Alyx turned a bright red and Bob reached for a fire extinguisher.
Dorothy's real identity is Ishtar, and Kieth is Kinsfire.

Woah didnt know that about Ishtar and Kinsfire. Talk about vastly different styles of writing.

Chapter 16 of 'Harry PotteR: Knowledge is Power' by SerpentSannin is out.

You can actually read that? Its a moderately not-horrible version of super harry. The fact that the first sentence in the story is incredibly run-on and also get a paragraph of its own sets the tone for the rest of the story.

There are some really great ideas that haven't been used before. As for Super!Harry... well, that might be true. But this Harry is working for it. Not like the whiny, pathetic Canon!Harry.

I skimmed the first 3 chapters. I saw that Harry's a genius sports star musician with fan girls who's been studying magic for years before Hogwarts, then he goes to Ollivander's and out of the blue the Elder wand deal gets dropped on him along with the Ressurection stone and super invisibility cloak.

3 chapters to have the entire plot laid out...

Though I do agree that there are some unique facets, they're just developed badly.

Its written by a Narutard. Do you really need to say more? We should stick to fic recommendations that Don't Suck, rather than argue about ones which automatically do.

Sucking is relative. I didn't like that story and don't plan on reading it, if you don't like it you're free to not read it. Granted I complained while doing it but I honestly wanted to know why Dumbledork liked that story. Which turned out to be for understandable (if not by me) reasons.

I'm not going to tell Dumbledork to stop posting updates just because I don't like one story.

That's fair. I wonder if I'm outgrowing this series. If you apply catgirl killing logic to it, few of the characters are believable, and then you remind yourself that Rowling isn't a very good writer, that many of her fans are better and more detailed and more coherent than she was with this series and you go: "Oooh. So that's what it was. Its written for CHILDREN!" and then you move on. I've read quite a few stories that use her plot holes and deus ex machinas to AU her plotline. Alas, any 3 DEMs she uses in the series can Uber!Harry easily. And that's frustrating because I like some of these characters and I guess I've been too forgiving.

I know it is offtopic, but Muggle Summer, Wizard's Fall
I have tried to read it, but when exactly are things starting to speed up? I managed to get to chapter 15/16 before quiting. I was wondering if you could tell me if it is worth reading, or at least tell me that things are getting better soon?
That said, check my final first chapter of "black cobra" out.

Personally I like it. Now that you mention it there are long periods of time between substantive conflicts, but there's enough other things going on that the story isn't dedicated to the question of "how will harry charge in and pull victory out of his ass?". I don't think Harry's learned any new spells during the entire story, its a story that's less about Harry blowing the fuck out of everything and more about Harry having people to blow the fuck out of everything FOR him. And about Hermione apparating to work and leaving her panties behind on purpose, musn't forget that.

To answer your original question, yes it does pick up. I don't remember what happens in which chapter so I can't say how close you are. That being said, even the action isn't overwhelming. I don't think Harry has been in any real danger in the entire story, so at this point its more about how he'll handle losing people under his command than him surviving by the skin of his teeth.
